. The hotel has a nice character to it but no WiFi and no fridge in this day and age is no good. Disappointments however were the free WiFi did not work despite several requests to the front desk and there is no mini fridge to keep water, drinks etc cool. The room was clean and a bit basic but ok for the price (make allowance for it being an upgrade of an old motel) and the bed was very comfortable.Disappointing but easy to remedy
The Biba Hotel is in a good location for access to West Palm Beach and environs and the onsite parking is good.
. The bar opens a little late for vacationers and the front desk folks could stand a some training in making you feel welcome but overall it is a nice, safe fun adventure. It is attractive and clean.Biba Hotel
An old motel that the owners refurbished into a retro motel.
ccccc.Very charming hotel near the heart of West Palm Beach.
I am not sure who is writing the positive reviews of this place, but seriously, book a different hotel! Do not waist you time and or money here!. I could not imagine eating BREAKFAST in there! YUCK! We ended up leaving and booking a room at a different hotel! Yep, it was that BAD! The pictures they have on their web site, look a million times better than what you get in person. The "wine bar" was so GROSS! It smelled like smoke so badly, when we walked through it It made my stomach turn. The bathroom (though cleaned up) looked like it once belonged in a truck stop mens room. The floor is nasty, the dirt was not cleaned off but looked more like they waxed over it! I would not even take off my shoes to walk around on it. The rooms are small and cheep feeling.
This hotel is grossly overrated! It is nothing but an old crappy motel with late 80s early 90s furniture.Stay someplace else.
. The location was a little "shady", but overall it was safe and clean.Hip Hotel
I had a lot of fun.
Travelers tip on dining
Not much within walking distance, but City Place and Clematis Street a short drive with plenty of shopping and restaurants. Overall we had terrific experience, would definitely return. A few upgrades would make a world of difference - floors were a bit worn, window air a little noisy. Great jazz in the bar Friday night, locals were very welcoming. Grounds were lovely and we enjoyed the pool each day. Front desk and bar staff were super friendly and accommodating. Room small but clean and the bed was awesome with first-rate linens. If you are looking for a place with tons of charm and local character, its perfect.Lots of charm and character
If you are looking for a first-class hotel with all the amenities, Hotel Biba may not be for you.
They even have student discounts!!. Red Lions drivers are very friendly and have great rates. Many of the cab companies try to scam you and say that they accept credit cards when, in reality, their drivers do not understand how to use the credit card machine. I highly recommend this hotel and hope to return soon!
Travelers tip on saving a few bucks
If you will be traveling by cab, call Red Lion and have cash ready. My only slight complaint is that the room floors were somewhat dirty because they are tile and not carpeted (for good reason because of sand), but this did not create a huge inconvenience. The bar was also a wonderful place to relax or ask about happenings around town. We were more than impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the friendliness of everyone at Biba.Wonderful and friendly hotel!
My friend and I went down to West Palm for spring break and chose Biba for its reasonable pricing and good location.
. If they improve the air-quality I would probably go back.Convenient location but with tradeoffs
Biba is a cute little hotel very close to the island, but suffers from extremely humid rooms and poor air-conditioning - its easy to ignore the first day, but by the end of the weekend your clothes take the smell of the room.
the price is right - but bring earplugs - the hotel is near Amtrak tracks - and the train whistles/passes through at 4 am.
. Perfect location!
Travelers tip for business travelers
This location is great for intown business travelers. I would definitely stay again. They have a real opportunity to take a stretch and get some better quality 1950s and 60s furniture and promote this to the baby boomers.Fun concept, good price
This was a refreshing change from the usual chain hotel.
. The complimentary breakfast was a self-serve affair of granola, yogurt, orange juice , pastry and coffee - all quite tasty. The room was snug, but quite comfortable for a single traveller. A flat screen TV, a queen size bed with nice quality linens and a bath with a rainshower fixture in the tub.A renewed motel
Its a motel renovated enough to be pleasantly cozy.
. In the 50s it may have been wonderful, but by todays standards, its substandard. Breakfast was minimal, at best. Tiny bar, and understaffed. No restaurant.
This is the most overrated hotel Ive stayed in in years.Way overrated! A dump by any other name.
. Definitely a treasure at a bargain price. Only 2 minutes from the airport.Charming and Clean at a Bargain Price
Quaint retro style with large bedroom; clean and comfortable; small bathroom; intimate bar with live Jazz; pretty garden; and friendly staff.
. If the room had been somewhat larger it would have been great, but this place was fantastic as it was. Had high dollar, quality bed linens, flat screen LCD TV, very modern decor. Exterior had the appearance of a 50s "motel court", but the interior was all new. This was a great hotel!
The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly.
one great aspect of this hotel is that it is really near a supermarket, the very walkable historic el cid district too. really, though, it was overall a cute, convenient place. also the fluorescent lighting of the room was not condusive to reading. its in a room that is also where the buffet breakfast is served, and the room STINKS of cigarettes.
i would recommend this charming, pretty and fashionably designed small hotel but i would warn that it features a very noisy club near the pool area, which kept me up one night...Charming BUT.
. OK price for 1 night, although I would not go there again. Bed was not exceptionally comfortable. Flat screen tv was nice. Older rooms with bright colors. It looked like an apartment complex. It was hard to find from the road (small sign).Ok, not great
Stayed 1 night after a concert.
. However, it is close to local entertainment districts. Its only weakness is that its not located near anything within walking distance.Small & Intimate
Great boutique hotel that is well kept.
.but very unique... very palm beach, very expensive. they sell only mens/womens velvet dress slippers and can only be found here. will definitely stay here again!
Travelers tip on shopping
try stubbs and wooten in plam beach. located in a historic neighborhood a block from the bay, it is no frills but has very unique design with beautiful rustic landscaping and pool area.COOL hotel at a GREAT price
really enjoyed this lovely little hotel.
.Very Comfortable With go back again for sure
The atmosphere of the Hotel was very relaxing the people where very nice and helpful very good survice, everthing was clean and Beautiful I will definitely go back.
Travelers tip for business travelers
Suggest staying elsewhere as this place just gets older and older real fast. Positive: Front desk staff very helpful and friendly. Pool area is poor.truck only some 30 feet away... Trash pickup at 6:15 am literally shook my room. Area to the rear of hotel is less than desired. Old hotel with few frills. The location is some 5 minutes from downtown.BARELY 3 STARS
Stayed there because of price.
. We had a wonderful time and would stay again. The hotel is older but renovated so if you are used to really expensive top line hotels, this isnt for you, it is perfect for someone trying to get away to a peacful retreat and doesnt have tons of money to blow on overpriced rooms. We rented bikes and rode the mile and a half to the beach and it was great. We were able to eat in one of the gardens every morning it was so relaxing. The continental breakfast was light and healthy and delicious. The pool was beautiful and everytime we went in we were the only ones there. No loud noise, we had read about the noise near the bar area and fortunatley had a room away from it and were not bothered by anyone. It was very private and quiet. The staff was very courteous and helpful, and the hotel was wonderful.Comfort and Relaxation
We went to hotel Biba for our honeymoon, we booked a wonderful deal on expedia and read reviews on the hotel and thought we would give it a try.
. I would not return. The common areas lacked any comfortable furniture at all and to top it off we had to alert the front desk that there were 2 dead rats lodged in the fence by the pool. The maid service was fair at best. The rooms were small and lacked storage space.Uncomfortable and Disappointing
The Biba looks good online but in reality it is on the shabby side.
Pool was great to swim in and overall it was a nice quiet place to spend a few days during spring break!. I thought the rooms were going to be a little nicer than they were.Biba Comfort
Overall, the hotel staff were pretty nice and helpful.
Travelers tip on saving a few bucks
Best value for the money in the area, without question. Would return. Beds are comfortable. Could use a fan in rooms. Caution: A/C unit, no central air. The rooms need throw rugs, new showers. Bar are is quite nice. The grounds are impeccably maintained. Best sushi place In WPB is directly across the street. Continental breakfast is wonderful. Minimalism is the key at this hotel. One block from Flagler Drive for the best views along the Intracoastal Waterway.Good Value in the Area
Hotel Biba is well situated in WPB, closest hotel to the Clematis area.
Way better choices
Cant figure why it was ranked in the "Top 100 Sexy Hotels in the US".
