Alright for the priceThe motel is an older motel, kind of run down but the rooms were clean. It had a musty smell tho.Rating:5
A fine HotelThe carpet is getting really dirty,we kept our socks on until we got in bed. There wasnt a microwave in the dining area to heat the oatmeal, We were allowed to take it to our room, even though it said not to. It was a comfortable hotel and we would stay again.
Travelers tip on local attractionsEasy to get to movies,shopping.Rating:4
Surprised MeI was a bit surprised by the actual comfort and cleanliness of the room. This hotel has much cheaper rates than the others around it so I figured it would be a dump and I was amazed that it really wasnt. The help behind the front desk however was none too friendly and did a very poor job of explaining things such as the times for the pool and continental breakfast. We were a family of 5 staying two nights and there were only 3 sets of towels in the room which was odd, so I had to ask for more each day. And it was nearly impossible to get blankets and pillows, as one night my kids had to sleep on a fold out couch but we could only get one very thin and holy blanket for their cover.Rating:3
Cheap hotel close to Worlds of Fun..Not a horrible hotel, older, fairly clean-the people it seemed to attract was the biggest downside. There was constantly tons of people outside our room drinking, smoking, and running up and down the halls until midnight. I think probably because it was the cheapest hotel in the vicinity. The breakfast wouldve been nice, but was so packed I never got to the waffles.Rating:2
Not staying here againStaff was slow to assist us. Lots of loud noise and smoking from other visitors. Poor parking. Will not stay here again. We had a party of 12 and all of us agree to use a different hotel for our next visit to KC.Rating:1
This is your warning - Do Not Stay Here.We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon after the day at W.O.F. to check in about 5:30 p.m. The parking lot was 1/2 full of un-tagged, junk cars. This should have been my clue this place was a joke. We left for dinner and returned to the hotel at midnight. The parking lot was now completely full of salvage yard specials. Not an empty parking stall. I went to the front desk, only to find out that the "Auto Auction" rolls thru this area every Tuesday and Wednesday. The front desk clerk did nothing, telling me I would have to park along a "curb" in the packed lot or "in the street". I dropped the family off at our room, only to discover a "Mexican Fiesta" going on outside of our room. No kidding, a huge BBQ grill, coolers of beer, row of lawn chairs,a blairing radio, and a dozen people partying. I am all about fun, but not where desent people are trying to get some rest. Again, the front desk did nothing. I had to park in the street, a block away from my own hotel room, only to watch 6 people come out of the hotel room beside mine the next morning and leave in 6 cars, all parked in front of my room. This place is a joke. Youre better off spending the extra $ and staying somewhere else. Days Inn... You should be ashamed of the way this place is managed.Rating:1
Spiders, fleas and rotten water smell, disgusting!!!We booked the hotel and knew it would not be a palace. The room was half the price of other hotels nearby. We had no idea of the creep-show we were in for. We ended up checking out the next morning, forfeiting our pre-paid 2nd night and paying full rate at the hotel up the road. The room had a rotten wet mold smell, kind of like rotten grain, very strong. There were dead spiders haning in the closet from webs, Daddy longleg looking things. I saw two other hairy spiders crawling on the bathroom floor, very healthy looking critters. There were knats or fleas jumping in the sink and the bathtub, should have heard my wife scream at this sight! The front door had 1" or so gaps at the top and opening side that the sun shined in, and the bugs apparently crawled in. The room was just plain disgusting, damaged faucets, holes in the walls shoddily patched, one with a kleenex stuffed in it in the ceiling. The sheets had stains and spots where they would rest along your neck. When I talked to the staff all they could say was "no refund, no refund". Little language barrier, alot of "heard that before dont care attitude". There was electrical conduit exposed about 6" above the ground between the lot lights that you had to step over, or trip over. It had big damage from all the people that had tripped over it. I took pictures of this to show my freinds back home ):.
Travelers tip on local attractionsWorlds of fun is very close, if you can survive the night.Rating:3
just okFor the price it was just ok. Like another reviewer said if youre just in need of a place to sleep after a long day at one of the parks, and youre not looking to spend alot, then sure stay here. But be aware you get what you pay for. The inside of the room does look better than the outside of the hotel(kinda run down and that ice machine area SCARY)The room was ok all except the little fruitflies that hung out in the sink and tub. But like I said you get what you pay for.
Travelers tip on diningThere is a Waffle house right across the street! We love the Waffle House!!!Rating:3
Not badThis hotel has a nice pool and the rooms are decent. If you are going just to spend the night and go to Worlds/Oceans of fun it is worth it. Nothing fancy, waffles are a part of the continental breakfast.Rating:4
worth what you paythe employees were very friendly and knowledgable about the area. the free breakfast was good. the rooms were clean just in need of some tlc. I would stay at this hotel again.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayI would suggest that you eat at Gates bbq, catch a baseball game, go to worlds of fun, and if you enjoy the club scene americas pub was the place to be when i was there.Rating:4
A good hotel for the price. The building is old but the room was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Located right next to the highway so it was pretty easy to get to places in KC quickly. This is a good place to stay if you will be spending most of your time out enjoying Kansas City and just need a place to sleep and shower. And with the money you save on the price, you can have extra money to spend on your vacation!
Travelers tip on shoppingThe Great Mall of the Great Plains has lots of really nice outlet stores! A great place to get some great bargains!Rating:3
It met the need.We need a place to stay for one night. We were looking for an inexpensive place to stay close to family. For a one nigt stay this met the need. Rooms were a bit small and out dated. everything looked worn but seemed clean. Wouldnt do a multi night stay there but one night was ok.Rating:4
good quality price ratioIt was good for the cheap price. The room was good and clean. Just the breakfast was horrible.Rating:3
Just okay.It was okay. We have stayed there before because it is right across the street from Worlds of Fun amusement park. We do love their free breakfast, you can make your own waffles!Rating:1
Not worth it for low room rateIt was difficult to regulate the heat. The bathroom floor was very old and dirty in the corners. Towels were rough and old. The free breakfast was passable even though we arrived around 9:00am. I would not stay there again even though I chose it for the low rate.
Travelers tip on saving a few bucksGo to a higher room rate to get a nicer hotel. The low price was not worth it.Rating:5
2nd stayExcept for the tiny spider in the sink, everything else was fine; just didnt have time to try the waffles.
Travelers tip on recreational activitiesClose to the boats. Good location near N KC & fairly easy to get downtown & to the Crown Center.Rating:3
Not satisfiedNo lunch, only restaurant close by is Wendys Fastfood. Construction going on.Rating:2
You Get What You Pay ForAnd sometimes you dont. I would only recomend this hotel if you could not afford a more expensive one. Although we survived it, there was a lot left to be desired here. It is in a great location and only took us minutes to get to where we wanted to go. The staff behind the desk were very nice and helpful with directions and with checking in and out. But the hotel itself is very old and run down. Its in sore need of a few renovations. There was mold on the walls and the faucet leaked. The tiles on the bathroom ceiling were gaping open. There was blood stains on the sheets and bedspread that didnt come clean. The tank top didnt fit on the toilet. These were just to name a few. There were other things wrong as well. I dont think I would stay here again.Rating:1
really badthe king size bed was very uncomfortable you could feel the springs through the mattress. The pillows had been washed and dried so many times they were nothing but a balled up mess. the cable on the televison wasnt working and i called the front desk and they never came to fix it.Rating:5
Cant wait to go backThis place was a great place for our honeymoon, it was so close to oceans of fun we could have walked. It had a great pool. A nice staff. And a great price too. Awesome place to stay!Rating:1
Great if you like grimeWhile the motel is close to the Worlds of Fun parks, that is the best I can say about it. While service was passable, the rooms are hideously dingy and poorly maintained. In the future, I would find ANYWHERE else to stay.Rating:3
Not bad for the priceThis was a decent place to stay and was in a great location. They allow pets here but I dont think they enforce rules with that. Our neighboring room had dogs that barked everytime that someone walked by. The room was in good repair and the bed was actually pretty comfortable. When I decide to visit Worlds of Fun again I will probably stay here.
Travelers tip on local attractionsRight across from Worlds of FunRating:3
ok for an overnightThe hotel needs some renovations. The rooms are cleaned on the surface, but deep cleaning needs to be done. Repairs done are obvious as they are done sloppy and do not look good. The room did have a fridge and microwave which we need. Was so close to World of Fun which was nice. Ok for the price and location.Rating:2
A chance to see yourself on CopsI chose this hotel because of its location and the price. It says it is within walking distance to the theme park Worlds of Fun, but there is no sidewalks and it is all highways, so go ahead and figure on paying the 10 dollars a day parking at WOF. There was an arrest made in the parking lot of the hotel both days while we were there. Cops were everywhere. Those that cannot afford a nice hotel stay here, so, this is who you will be living next to. I found an open bottle of whiskey on the sidewalk outside of my room the morning of the last day, which made me wonder what went on so close to my sleeping children during the night. (I poured out the remaining half a bottle) It was not the usual stay that I am used to with Days Inn. I will not stay here again.Rating:5
It was good trip to kc w expedia servise hope to do it again .Hotel is great and beautifull people to serve and very good location to stay i like it persnelly i Thank You.
