    Excellent value

The Days Inn in Ankeny IA provides excellent value for the money. It is well maintained, clean and the staff helpful. For the price it can’t be beat.

    Nice, but not again

The room was ok...we requested a non-smoking room, which we got, but the room next to us was a smokers room...so it was just like being in a room full of smoke. The beds were a little hard for my comfort..bad back after only two nights. The hotel had a bunch of restaurants around it which was nice..plus easy access to the freeway. Probably wouldn’t stay there again.

One of the worst 2 stars I have stayed in

I have stayed in plenty of 2 star hotels in my day and this one was probably the worst. Halls smelled like smoke, and everything about the place looked like it hadn’t had an update since 1980. Carpet, bed, furishings, TV, bathroom, etc. all in need of an update. Continental breakfast was above average though... so they got that going for them.

    nice for the price

while the hotel was an older hotel the staff made up for the appearance in the hospitality that they offered. We arrived during a snow storm and the front desk staff was wonderful for the whole time that we were there offering extra blankets, towels, anything to make our stay pleasant. the free breakfast was an add bonus love bagels. Only wish it had a indoor pool, we will be back next time we are in Iowa

    Travelers tip on dining

there are TONS of places to eat and shop on same road no need to go all the way into town

    It’s a bed, people

We use this hotel as the more-than-halfway stop on our annual Mpls to Missouri trip. It’s a clean bed and shower, and that’s what we need it to be. It’s not terrible comfortable, but you pretty much get what you pay for, and the staff, both people that we met, were very helpful. The rooms are depressing, though.

    Better options

I would have to assume there are better options in the area. You almost had to hold your breath in the hallways it stank so much of cigarette smoke and there was mold growing on the shower curtain.

    Simple, inexpensive hotel

This hotel is ideally situated along I-35. You will get a friendly greeting from the staff, but don’t expect much else. Rooms are a bit dated, hallways a bit smokey. If you simply need a stay for the night, it’s fine. A plus: pets accepted with a $5 fee.

    Travelers tip on shopping

Suburban ammenities: Target, Home Depot, Kohl’s, and restaurants near by!

    exactly what i wanted cheap

All I wanted was some where to lay my head at night without the fancy price. May not have all the bells and whisles but worked just fine for my busy family.

    Travelers tip

Just right off the interstate easy to find. shopping is just down the road. resturant right next to hotel so no wasting gas to eat. gas station across the street.

    Nice Priced Hotel

It was great for the one night. I really wish they had a pool though and the tub wasn’t very big. Also, there wasn’t much of a selection for tv channels. The staff didn’t really go out of their way to impress us either but they were not rude and they were very professional. Great hotel for the price.

I t was good for overnight, but I would not like to stay more than that.

The lobby was no air conditioned so it was very stuffy. The rooms were also stuffy. The air conditioner worked fine. Not a very big variety of breakfast food options. It was in a very good location, close to shopping and restaurants.

    Not impressed

If the overpowering smell of pinesol doesn’t kill you when you first walk in, then just wait for the smell of curry when you walk upstairs. The hotel is in major need of repair, there was dust bunnies all around the room where the floor and walls meet. The toilet seat was broken, caulking was coming off around the sink and tub, and the owner needs to spend less time yelling at his children and off the phone for personal phone calls, and needs to spend more time checking in his customers.

    Mixed feelings

The staff and friendly feeling of the hotel were there, but the bed and pillows were uncomfortable it was noisy - every time someone turned on the water in another room, it was as loud as an alarm clock. I would try another hotel next time, even though I did appreciate the friendly, helpful staff.

    Travelers tip on dining

There’s a Mexican restaurant next door that is a definite ’thumbs up!’
