. friendly staff, old hotel no amenities.Basic Accomidation
If you are looking for basic hotel, the days inn is a good choice.
Days Inn Ankeny
We had pets and the room was small and the beds were hard.
. For the price it cant be beat. It is well maintained, clean and the staff helpful.Excellent value
The Days Inn in Ankeny IA provides excellent value for the money.
. Probably wouldnt stay there again.plus easy access to the freeway.. The hotel had a bunch of restaurants around it which was nice.bad back after only two nights.. The beds were a little hard for my comfort.so it was just like being in a room full of smoke...we requested a non-smoking room, which we got, but the room next to us was a smokers room...Nice, but not again
The room was ok.
. Will Use Again!
Have passed this one by several times, but wont again.Friendly, Clean and reasonalble.
. so they got that going for them... Continental breakfast was above average though. all in need of an update. Carpet, bed, furishings, TV, bathroom, etc. Halls smelled like smoke, and everything about the place looked like it hadnt had an update since 1980.One of the worst 2 stars I have stayed in
I have stayed in plenty of 2 star hotels in my day and this one was probably the worst.
Only wish it had a indoor pool, we will be back next time we are in Iowa
Travelers tip on dining
there are TONS of places to eat and shop on same road no need to go all the way into town. the free breakfast was an add bonus love bagels. We arrived during a snow storm and the front desk staff was wonderful for the whole time that we were there offering extra blankets, towels, anything to make our stay pleasant.Nice for the price
while the hotel was an older hotel the staff made up for the appearance in the hospitality that they offered.
. The rooms are depressing, though. Its not terrible comfortable, but you pretty much get what you pay for, and the staff, both people that we met, were very helpful. Its a clean bed and shower, and thats what we need it to be.Its a bed, people
We use this hotel as the more-than-halfway stop on our annual Mpls to Missouri trip.
. You almost had to hold your breath in the hallways it stank so much of cigarette smoke and there was mold growing on the shower curtain.Better options
I would have to assume there are better options in the area.
Travelers tip on shopping
Suburban ammenities: Target, Home Depot, Kohls, and restaurants near by!. A plus: pets accepted with a $5 fee. If you simply need a stay for the night, its fine. Rooms are a bit dated, hallways a bit smokey. You will get a friendly greeting from the staff, but dont expect much else.Simple, inexpensive hotel
This hotel is ideally situated along I-35.
. gas station across the street. resturant right next to hotel so no wasting gas to eat. shopping is just down the road.
Travelers tip
Just right off the interstate easy to find. May not have all the bells and whisles but worked just fine for my busy family.Exactly what i wanted cheap
All I wanted was some where to lay my head at night without the fancy price.
Great value
Easy on the wallet

Travelers tip on saving a few bucks
Great for the price. Great hotel for the price. The staff didnt really go out of their way to impress us either but they were not rude and they were very professional. Also, there wasnt much of a selection for tv channels. I really wish they had a pool though and the tub wasnt very big.Nice Priced Hotel
It was great for the one night.
. Decent breakfast but small eating area, had to take it back to our room to eat.Hotel
The hotel is old but nice .
. It was in a very good location, close to shopping and restaurants. Not a very big variety of breakfast food options. The air conditioner worked fine. The rooms were also stuffy.
The lobby was no air conditioned so it was very stuffy.I t was good for overnight, but I would not like to stay more than that.
. The toilet seat was broken, caulking was coming off around the sink and tub, and the owner needs to spend less time yelling at his children and off the phone for personal phone calls, and needs to spend more time checking in his customers. The hotel is in major need of repair, there was dust bunnies all around the room where the floor and walls meet. Not impressed
If the overpowering smell of pinesol doesnt kill you when you first walk in, then just wait for the smell of curry when you walk upstairs.
.Not impressed
Carpets and entry were dirty and staff not really very welcoming.
The rate was good!. The sheets were clean and the beds were comfortable.
If youre looking for a quick place to spend one night on a long trip, this is the hotel.Clean place for the night.
Travelers tip on dining
Theres a Mexican restaurant next door that is a definite thumbs up!. I would try another hotel next time, even though I did appreciate the friendly, helpful staff.Mixed feelings
The staff and friendly feeling of the hotel were there, but the bed and pillows were uncomfortable it was noisy - every time someone turned on the water in another room, it was as loud as an alarm clock.
