Reviews

. We will be back. We enjoyed eating all our meals on the plaza.Great get away Our stay was wonderful.

. I would definitely recommend this place.Best Hotel in Providence Great location, friendly staff.

. The only thing that disappointed me was the strong smell of air fresher in the room. Staff was friendly and nice. It was spacious and clean.Spacious and comfortable room The room looked like an apartment with the many cooking facilities available.

. The Venn in the roof was defect and made the whole night loud and funny noises. The Mattress was torture, I mean it.Nothing for a good night sleep The Hotel was clean and comfortable but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Its a great change from a chain hotel!. It allows you to stay and dine in the Little Italy section of Providence on Federal Hill.A small taste of Europe This is a fine little hotel that reminds me of travelling in Europe.

Travelers tip on dining excellent Italian restaurants very authentic.wonderful restaurants very authentic Italian food and goods....Would visit again in the spring Cleanliness was impeccable, bed was lumpy and sunk in the middle, no where to park, have to pay to have your car parked.

. Travelers tip on local attractions Providence has one of the finest regional theatres in the country, Trinity Rep, where I went to the final performance of "Antigone".Ah, life is good.I had lunch with the sun beaming as I sipped my wine.Outside patio restaurant much like the "piazzas" in Italy. 3.Very attractive all white/chrome room. 2.Full kitchen in my room. I would definitels stay here again for some of the following: 1.Wonderful,small hotel within walking distance of all Providence.

. Travelers tip on dining Surronded by the best Italian resturants anywhere. Great place to stay in Providence. Rooms very large and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful.Great Hotel on Federal Hill Very cool boutique hotel in the heart of Federal Hill.

was a net place but WAY over rated should be a two star hotel Travelers tip on dining has a great pastry shop around the corner. also staff couldnt even find wire for internet access. The smell this hotel had a bad smell in the room thankfully it had air freshner in bathroom just keep spraying.

. Travelers tip on dining There are some interesting casual dining restaurants and cafes surrounding the hotel, so its proximity to that is good. The employees were very attentive and willing to help with any other type request. The entire room was white tile and all white, so it made the stay feel like a very cold room rental. Not very satisfied While the suite had a small living room and a bedroom, the furnishings were very sparse and not too accomodating.

The trolley is there waiting for you then too!. Spent the day walking around all the mansions before returning that evening. Manager was quite helpful recommending spots to eat! Had a great getaway! Travelers tip on recreational activities Took the trolley to the Rhode Island Fast Ferry for the 1 hour trip to Newport, RI. Plaza can be a bit noisy at night when it’s Karaoke night. Trolley stops out front, so no need for a car.Wonderful Boutique Hotel Right on a plaza with a fountain, several restaurants w/ outdoor seating and a crooner singing Frank Sinatra songs.

. I will say this, you can’t get a better location if you want to hang out on Federal Hill and have a great dinner. The room is described as "European" but it should be described as a no-thrills hospital room and leave the poor Europeans out of it. The room wasn’t that clean and the bed was lumpy, hard and uncomfortable. it all ends there...Not Impressed The people that work at the hotel are great.

. Too bad as the hotel is in a great location and with new cleaning products could be just fine. The smell of bleach was nauseating. The floor was still very tacky from being washed (never felt clean). The tv was blaring when we walked in the room.Missed the mark This hotel was a great dissapointment.

. The Little Italy neighborhood and access to cafes and restaurants is the nicest aspect of the hotel, and for this reason, I would recommend staying there. We were awoken by the sound of a truck in the alley around 6:30 am after a late evening out. I would recommend asking for a room with a balcony facing the plaza, although it may be noisy in the late evening. The location on the plaza is very nice, but our room faced the side alley and a row of smelly dumpsters. We were only there for one night, so didn’t bother asking for maintainence. The room safe lock and key also did not work. The bathroom was somewhat dated and the cold water faucet came apart in my hand as I turned it on. We had a suite and the room sizes were generous. The stainless steel artwork and white tile floors added to the sterile feel of the room.Great location, but overall it was just OK I was expecting the all white interiors to come off as modern and elegant, but instead it was somewhat institutional feeling and cold.

We’ll be back!. Also, it’s right in the middle of a charming little plaza in "little Italy". Air conditioner was on high when we arrived, which was a pleasure on a hot, humid day. Cheaper, too! Totally white rooms make cleanliness impossible to skimp on, and it was spotless. An excellent alternative to big chains. This was our 2nd stay...Totally Recommend It.

. Wonderful dining opportunities, and lots of Italian grocers and imported items for some interesting shopping. It’s actually more difficult to drive the few blocks than it is to walk it. Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay Park your car and walk the couple of blocks up and down Federal Hill area. Other rooms may be configured differently than room 1C. We will definitely stay there again; it was a great location and a quiet, comfortable hotel except for the lack of a couch or love seat. Overnight parking is $15 in the hotel lot, but the desk folks will take care of moving it in and out of the lot and will bring it around when you leave. If you remain in the Federal Hill area you won’t need your car. Nice kitchen appliances, and a fully stocked kitchen -- except for a corkscrew. Only real complaint is that there was nothing to sit on in our room (room 1C) other than a single white leather club chair and a couple of teeny hard plastic chairs that were best suited to a quick cup of coffee at the teeny little table. The hotel is European feeling (read: small bathrooms and no elevator) and though the all-white decor is a bit outre’ it is spotlessly clean. Also the best calamari I’ve ever had, bar none. Really liked the gnocchi, and the linguini e vongole (white clam sauce) was fantastic. It’s the Little Italy section of Providence, so don’t expect many dining options other than Italian (duh!), but mama mia! What great dining! We liked the restaurant right next to the hotel, La Dolce Vita: nice outdoor seating near the fountain, very good service, and excellent food. Comfortable beds and the hotel is in a great location if you want to be in Federal Hill. You can hear people in the alley but they weren’t unduly late.Location, location, location No real noise problems on a Friday night.

Door fittings were note great, and not adequately sound proof for a peaceful nights sleep. You need to pay additinal charges for parking which would add up to your bill. Not Great for the Money This place was fine, but the biggest disadvantage was, it did not have parking space.

.My stay was so comfortable, it was almost better than home! Beautiful suite, great furniture, super clean bathroom with awesome whirlpool tub, and a bed so comfy I almost missed my flight.

. Travelers tip on dining Located in the little italy area of town. If you’re not looking for a great view (rooms seem to face the alleys) but are looking for a comfy beach apartment style room, this is for you. It has a lot of character and is not your typical motel or upscale hotel. The jet tub was a nice touch. It was spacious and had a full kitchen.Providence’s Italian Gem We booked this hotel as a quick stay between Boston and Martha’s Vineyard.

. Lots of space and personalized service. Federal Hill neighborhood has lots of atmosphere -- I thought I was on vacation! Travelers tip for business travelers This hotel offers a more homey experience, especially if you are tired of the typical ’cookie’cutter chain hotel. Easy access to major highways and downtown Providence. Wonderful restaurants in neighborhood. Not a ’chain experience’ Very nice suite hotel with very personalized service.

We can’t complain about the food, that’s for sure!!!. The cafe/bar next door to the hotel was excellent for breakfast. Even if you have a good appetite, you may not be able to finish your meal. it was real, authentic Italian cooking... We especially enjoyed Andino’s. All the restaurants we ate at were amazing. Travelers tip on dining Dolce Villa is located in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Providence, which is Italian. The staff were helpful and nice and many popular attractions are within walking distance. It wasn’t all bad though. The furniture wasn’t very comfortable and the room smelled of chlorine, but there isn’t a pool. It feels much like a hospital room, but with many amenities. Everything is white, which we thought would be a nice change from the traditional rooms but we don’t think it works. If Dolce is an example of this than we have no interest in going to Europe... The hotel room is supposed to have European flair....Not our style at all.

.Worthwhile, convenient, private. Garbage & trash pickup early am outside room! Loud! Will go back. Federal Hill’s delis and inkitchens=yum.Slight odor of bleach. Place is all white which is a bit much. Location- great for access to interstate and our family.Great location plan to return, Hotel is very clean and bed was very comfy.

. Travelers tip on dining Great dining close by. If you are a caveman come here and you will get a great nights sleep, if not you will definitely have a problem. The bed and pillows are as hard as a rock.Business trip I would have recommended this hotel if sleeping was not important.

. I appreciate the flourescent bulbs but in the bedroom it would be nice to have something a little softer to set a more relaxed mood. Only improvement that I could suggest would be a little more subtle lighting in bedroom. Service, cleanliness, etc etc.Cool Place Everything was great.

Love Travelers tip on dining Twist, Christine’s. ~ Dr. I am sure of where I’ll stay each upcoming visit to Providence. A charming area within walking distance of some great dining and sight seeing. The staff was attentive, flexible, and responsive.Everyone went the extra mile! From the time I stepped in the front door, the excellent customer service began.
