Want to go back!Everything from start to finish during our two-day stay at the Elizabeth St Inn was great. The room was beautiful, the bed was extremely comfortable, the view of the ocean was gorgeous, the hot breakfast was satisfying, and the fireplace added wonderful ambiance. Even the parking was good! I highly recommend staying here. No complaints at all.Rating:5
PerfectionAfter reading many of the other reviews of this hotel we arrived cautiously optimistic. We thought it to be a good, solid choice, but from our first moment there to our last it was nothing short of awesome. The double queen room was clean, beautiful, and spacious, and the bed was quite comfortable. We left the slider open the entire time. Listening to the waves by the light of the fireplace was a great way to end the day. The fireplace has a handy timer so you dont even have to get out of bed to shut it off. The included breakfast was served until 10:00, which allowed for a relaxing start to our day. It was definitely a step above your basic continental breakfast. Go! The front desk recommended Local Ocean in the historic bay front area for dinner. Our dinner there was excellent! The crab cake appetizer was the best Ive had in years, and our dinners were delicious. The atmosphere was very nice. Their walls/windows fully retract so that you feel like youre dining alfresco without actually being on the sidewalk, sharing your space with pedestrians and traffic. The harbor and boats were directly across the street making it quite scenic as well. We mentioned to our waitress that my wife and I were celebrating our birthdays while in Newport, and she surprised us with a delicious free dessert made of crumbled shortbread and whip cream (both homemade) with mango, blueberries, and strawberries. Im not really fond of berries but I ate every bite of this wonderful dessert.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayA family that rode the elevator with us complained that the toilet flushing from the room above theirs was quite noisy. However, we stayed on the top floor and didnt notice a thing. So requesting the 4th floor may be the best way to avoid this possible annoyance.Rating:5
What a view!Very friendly welcome at reception on arrival. Room was clean and comfortable. The sea view from the balcony was wonderful. Went to sleep each night to the sound of the waves breaking gently on the beach. Very nice restaurants within easy walking distance from the hotel.Rating:5
Would definitely stay here again when/if in NewportWe were looking for a place at the beach to celebrate 45 years of marriage. We are on a fixed income and going to the beach is usually far too expensive for us. The rates here were in our ballpark. With the view, the comfort of the room and easy location to restaurants and sites this is a winner.Rating:5
Really, Really Nice!My husband and I stayed at the Elizbeth Street Inn in Newport, OR mid-week in September 2009, Wednesday and Thursday nights, and it was absolutely wonderful. The room was large, wonderfully furnished with quality funiture, decor and even His & Hers white terry cloth robes. Because we were above ground level and the room had a private balcony, we were able to leave our sliding glass door open and for two nights we went to bed with the fresh salt air in our lungs and the roar of the ocean lulling us to sleep. The continential breakfast was the best we had had at any hotel, fresh hot foods and cold foods to suit your taste. We will be back.Rating:5
sea view outstandingstaff were very helpful room was very comfortable great hotel the only thing they could change is the breakfast if you were only booked for one night it was fine but we stayed several nights and it was the same food everyday with a crowded eating area.Rating:4
Great Place, but room was too hotWe enjoyed out stay very much. The amenities were great and worth the money. Our only complaint was that the room was way too hot. There was not air conditioning. we did open the screen door but the air outside was a little stinky so we had to deal with the hot.Rating:5
Beautiful room, beautiful ocean viewWhenever my husband and I stay in Newport, we always like to stay at Elizabeth Street Inn. The comfortable rooms are beautiful with fireplaces and balconies to enjoy the incredible sunrises and sunsets. The warm cookies in the evening are a nice touch and the staff is very friendly. We wont go anywhere else! The breakfast is really nice too, with lots of options.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayFor fun, check out the Newport Bay area to watch the seals on the dock. After youre done, visit Embarcaderos bar for great happy hour prices on drinks and wonderful nachos (and other good food)! It overlooks the seals and bay area. Visit the Hatfield Marine Science Center which is free. Great for families!!! Dont miss the giant octopus feeding--(times are posted on website) he changes color when eating!Rating:5
Sleep to the sound of the oceanWe loved our stay at Elizabeth Street Inn. It was comfortable and staff were friendly - but most of all - the beautiful ocean view. Morning, noon and night, the view was beautiful. We left the door open a little at night so we could hear the ocean. We also enjoyed the breakfast every morning. It provided a great start to the day.
Travelers tip on local attractionsThe hotel was close to all of the Newport attractions. We enjoyed a walk on the beach every day.Rating:5
Will go backThe hotel as a whole is very clean and convenient to many of the attractions on the Newport waterfront. The staff was very friendly and helpful and always available. Every room faces the beach and was very greatful for the fridge! The breakfast wasnt top rate but they had a variety of hot and cold foods making breakfast choices very easy. I really enjoyed my stay and I know if I ever go back to Newport I will stay at this hotel again.
Travelers tip on diningMake sure to visit Mos, the clam chowder lived up to all the reviews-fantastic!Rating:4
Great HotelWe recently stayed at the Elizabeth Street Inn with our kids. The location is fabulous. The rooms are very nice and all of them have a view of the ocean. The staff was very friendly and they had a great continental breakfast. We loved this quaint hotel! I would recommend the Elizabeth Street Inn if you are going to Newport.Rating:5
Annual trip location for 6 years. Gets better as time goes on, lots of updates. Great location! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast included, and warm cookies in the evening. Lots of hospitality!! Always able to leave the balconey door open to hear the roar of the ocean, turn on the gas fireplace for effect, pop some popcorn in the microwave and grab a cold one from the minifridge for a great evening after relaxing in the Hot Tub! Ready to go back!
Travelers tip on local attractionsDont miss the nearby Mark Hatfield Science Center!Rating:5
A great value for the moneyGreat views and quick access to the beach, free breakfast and good restaurants nearby.Rating:5
Nice viewVery nice hotel and the price was right! Nice cozy room with a fireplace. The view was excellent, loved the glass barriers on the balcony, you could see the ocean while lying in bed!Rating:5
Great ViewI loved that all the rooms have an ocean view with a balcony! It was so nice to just have the patio door open listening to the ocean all night. I would go back in a second. They also have free internet which was quite nice. The breakfast is included and it wasnt just cold cereal.
Travelers tip on diningNot impressed by Georgies...Rating:4
They fixed a problem for usThe room was clean and very nice with the exception that the couch smelled like skunk when you sat on it. When I informed them, they were very nice and offered a discount on my next stay. I would stay with them again.Rating:5
Newly remodeled hotel - great place to stayI reviewed all the hotels in Newport OR and found this one to be the most promising. I was extremely satisfied with our choice. The hotel was newly remodeled, very clean, very friendly staff, I felt right at home the first day. We stayed for four days so I feel like we got a good feel for the service and everything was really great. Also lots of good restaurants close by. If staying in Newport, this is the hotel I would recommend.Rating:5
A wonderful place to relax!Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Great view of the ocean. Pool was inconveniently located and we had to go next door to get down to the beach, but still a great place to stay. There was no problem getting extra soap and shampoo. Very friendly desk help.
Travelers tip on saving a few bucksFresh-baked cookies at night and complimentary coffee and tea make a nice way to end the day and save you on dessert at a restaurant.Rating:4
Nice HotelOne thing most I liked about this hotel is its location. The ocean is right in front of you. We spent most of our times sitting on the balcony watching the ocean (due to bad weather condition though). Would recommend and would go there second time.Rating:4
Nice, Overlooks beachPleasant, helpful staff, Nice breakfast(but crowded) Pro: Nice ocean viewrooms. Clean. Handy parking, under hotel Con: Only one slow elevator.Rating:5
best hotel on the coastWe love this hotel. They have the best rooms with the best price. The new breakfast room is great, with lots to eat. The rooms are updated and the beds are the best anywhere.Rating:4
good choicevery nice hotel in a great location. Our room was very clean. It was stuffy and we needed to open the slider to get some air circulation. We didnt use the fireplace since it was warm, but I would love to go back when its cold, it would be very romantic. The breakfast buffet, included, is a waste of time. This was the only part of our stay that was a disappointment. Food choices were minimal and cold, and the trash cans were overflowing. I would stay there again.Rating:4
Great water front hotel for the priceGreat helpful stuff. Gorgeous ocean view. Nice comfortable and clean rooms. Good breakfast but i wish they have more healthy choices for bread and maybe cheese. We will come back to this hotel next time we are in Newport.Rating:4
will consider this on our next visitOur accomodation has a complimentary continental breakfast but bacon, sausages and eggs are also available for free. Complimentary freshly baked cookies in the afternoon and you can even take some to your room for a midnight snacks. Unlimited coffee and Hot tea 24/7. Not a fancy hotel but we enjoyed our stay here. We will consider this hotel on our next visit....
Travelers tip on diningDont forget to ask front Desk agent where the "LOCAL OCEAN" restaurant is located - this is a very good restaurant with reasonable price(healthy foods - gourmet foods). Hghly recommended restaurant than Georgies.Rating:5
