NOT ON THE BEACHThe hotel was very clean and check in was fast.Rating:4
cheap and nicenice hotel, clean and spacious rooms, it is about a block from the beach but the hotel offers a free shuttle to the boardwalk if you are too lazy to walk a block or have a massive cooler with you. several dining/pub locations nearby, live bait is an awsome place and only cost $8 cab fare each way if yo uplan to drinkRating:5
Very, very nice. The staff was great. The room was very, very nice. The hotel was very clean. It was very a convenient location to the beach. I would no doubt stay again and recommend others do the same. The public beach area is across the highway and down about one block.Rating:3
lacklusterThe view from our expensive 3rd storyroom was the back of some stores in a strip mall - you cant even see the Gulf. Missing soap/shampoo etc in the bathroom, telephone didnt work - luckily we had cell phones with us. Their "shuttle service to the beach" is one golf cart so theres a lot of waiting. Id say pay the extra bucks and stay at a hotel on the beach or just go some place else if you want a beach experience. We were in town to see Bob Dylan and theres no reason I can see to go back to Orange Beach (unless he returns).
Travelers tip on diningDrive to nearby Foley, Alabama and have lunch at the Gift Horse Restaurant - excellent buffet of Southern cuisine in an elegant setting and surprisingly inexpensive.Rating:4
Great Place to StayThis hotel was a great place to stay, however it is a little further from the beach than I would have liked. In order to get to the beach you have to walk down the street and cross the busy street. Other than that the hotel was very nice.
