. My room was lovely, although the bathroom "peepshow" glass made me aware that you would have to be sharing these rooms with a loved one! I would certainly stay here again, and had noting but exceptional service and a very quiet peaceful stay. After extremely stressful work days in mid-town, it was an easy subway ride back to this quiet, friendly hideaway.Heavenly Hideaway
I had a wonderful stay at Gild Hall.
. They do need more staff at the front desk and a better taxi system but overall we had a pleasant stay. I like the decor although as an interior designer, I would have thought out the frosted glass wall separating the bath from the bedroom area more carefully as light floods the bedroom and if someone is sleeping it is really light. It is downtown and geared more for business than pleasure.Nice hotel
Gild Hall is a nice little hotel.
. I would recommend it to anyone whos looking for a hotel in that area.Nice Hotel
Nice hotel, clean room and bathroom.
. Overall, a very good hotel experience. The room decor was cool. The hotel was clean and comfortable.
The staff members were professional and courteous. Will definitely stay here again.
. We will be back. Great service.A great stay
We were very satisfied with this hotel! We were pleased with the none stop warm and friendly greetings from every employee of the Gild Hall.
It was tres magnifique!. I cant wait to come back!
Travelers tip on dining
There was a wonderful French restaurant within walking distance call Les Halles. All of the staff was helpful and the atmosphere was warm and friendly despite the rain outside. But other than that the whole experience was just great. Our room was so comfy and classy and the only thing bad I can say is I ate a dark chocolate candy bar that was stale. We had a wonderful time visiting with her. It was so gorgeous and fun! We enjoyed the bar both nights and the bartender (whose name I didnt get)was so delightful. The decor was a kind of combination of rustic and modern. When can we go back?
What a terrific hotel.
. Nice area. Very comfortable. Will stay there again!!

Super staff - very friendly and helpful.
. Wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay
I would much rather stay at the Millenium or Marriott. Not worth it
The front desk was not accomodating at all, the air conditioning was broken in our room and they gave us complimentary continental breakfast, which was not a suitable compensation and bathrooms had glass so there was no privacy through the door.
. When we return to NYC we will make a point to stay here again. There were also a number of nice markets in close proximity that we made use of for breakfast and snacks. Although it wasnt in one of the more active night life areas, it wasnt a problem to get to any of them via the Metro. The hotel was very convenient to the Metro and close to the South Street Sea Port district. Im sure that it being in the financial district and a weekend helped. We were very surprised to find a lovely small upscale hotel at such an affordable rate.Surprising Value
We recently spent a long weekend in NYC and stayed at Gild Hall.
Good tips
ok.
Nice
Hotel had a good location, clean, decent size for NYC, good location near a subway stop and the financal district, south street seaport.
The hotel amenities and the room we stayed in was well kept and staff were extremely helpful =) Will definitely recommend this to friends and wont mind staying here again!.Great hotel
Great location if you want someplace to stay near Brooklyn or other trendy neighborhoods in New York.
. We have a nice visit, and a great stay.Great hotel
It was very nice.

The pizza bar across the street had great pizza for late night snacking. The area the hotel is in is a quiet part of the city and I loved that I didnt have to deal with the insane touristy crowds. Staff was incredibly pleasant and helpful. I loved the library on the mezzanine.Gorgeous
The decor is gorgeous old hunting lodge style, room was a good size (for NYC), and the bed was comfortable.
.. Nice outdoor eating area, food was good and prices were reasonable. Really stupid Idea!
Travelers tip on dining
nice little Itialian restaurant just down the street. I guess they thought it was chic... Why in the world the designer felt it important to view bathroom activities from the room is beyond me. The door to the bathroom was an opaque glass and it was visible from the room.Really Bad Idea
We liked everything about this hotel except for one thing.
. The next time I am staying in the NYC area, for business or leisure, this hotel will definitely be at the top of my list. The staff was great, very helpful and polite.Wonderful Hotel
It was a great stay.
Only thing I didnt like are the semitrasparent door of the bathroom.the decor, the service, the drinks at the bar and even if not in the hub, the location was good too...Best hotel I stayed in NYC
everything about this hotel is great.
. We took are teenagers and they enjoyed the sights and didnt mind the walking. Also within walking distance are a few great delis.

Gild Hall is within walking distance of the Financial District, Ground Zero and the Statue of Liberty. We would be willing to stay here again the next time we are in New York City. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable.Great place to stay
The staff was very helpful and willing to make sure your stay was pleasant.
. I would stay here again. The rooms are clean, quiet, nicely sized and well maintained.Lovely Boutique Hotel
Situated in a very nice section of the financial district, this hotel is lovely.
. And, Les Halles Brassiere has an excellent menu and excellent service. Straight down Gold Street is the entrance to the Brooklyn Brdige walkway which is worth the views.

Make sure you go to MacGuires Pub on Clift street for a good drink and friendly atmosphere. It was absolutely clean and neat just not as comfortable as we would typically prefer but that would not stop us from staying there again if we had cause to be in that area. We prefer big comfy chairs, good lighting and a little more bath privacy -- the room was instead high fashion with a very stylish uncushioned chair, a glass bathroom and little lighting. Our only complaint (and it is a minor one) is the room was a little too "modern" for our liking. The staff was very helpful. The hotel itself was very nice, neat and clean. The subway system was easily accessible (about 2 blocks away) and there were lots of little shops and restaurants all around.Great Financial District location
The hotel was right in the middle of the financial district, within walking distance of Pier 17 and the Brooklyn Bridge.
This is what I consider real customer treatment! Thaks a lot, hotel management!. After pointing this out to management, we got FREE UPGRADE OF ROOM, CHAMPAGNE AND 4 BREKFASTS. We were quite disappointed (tired, because of trying to catch the jet-lag).Reaction of hotel management to my complain
We had the hotels staff waking us up @10:30pm by mistake.
. The only down side was that it was hard to regulate the temperature. The staff was very attentive.Great place, well stay there again
This is a wonderful small hotel.
. Also, there are great places to shop for clothing.
Travelers tip on dining
There are great restaurants close by and I find it fun to eat small appetizers in about three or four and call it a meal. I will not return to this property. Caution, this room had a raised unnoticeable threshhold from the bathroom and twice I nearly tripped on it and fell to the floor. By this time my patience had expired and I persuasively expressed my disappointment and was upgraded and given a room immediateley. I left again and came back at 2:00 and was told the same thing. I did notice all the other people were not around and understood they all had checked in. I left and came back at 1:00 and was told the same thing. Other people were waiting as well.A little service goes a long way!
I arrived at the hotel early and was told my room wasnt ready and check-in was at 3:00 pm.
Great value of 3 nights stay for 2!! I am very impressed and will be back again next time!! Highly Recommended to Everyone AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA+++++++++++++++++++. Location is very good as well, close to the Statue of Liberty and subway station. Very thoughtful to everything for customer. Stylish decor room and bathroom. Hotel is very clean and tidy, definitely is better than in the pictures. Staff is very helpful and polite.ONE OF THE BEST Hotel Ive ever stayed in my Life
This is the BEST HOTEL Ive stayed in the States, ever!!! Excellent Customer Service with Wonderful Manner.
