. As we were checking out we were told they were changing to a another hotel chain in 2009 which is good for the area. We were awaken by the sound of maintenance repairs being made next door and this was around 7am. It needs work but it was okay for what we needed. There were not a lot of other options available, price wise. Not impressed but they are updating We book this hotel on line because of the rate and location.

.Not at all what I had expected I have stayed at this hotel when it was AmeriSuites and was very satified but since the change in ownership it is not at all what it was before.

. Be aware that it’s not quite on the beach, it’s a 1200ft walk. On the other hand, it’s a great location, and the free breakfast was more than decent. Maid service was all but inexistant, though it wasn’t critical for a 2 night stay. The reception desk clerk announced as introduction that check-in time is 4:00PM, the website and Expedia said 3:00, even though upon registration they had the rooms available at 2:00.Oh hum Did not exceed expexctations, for sure.

. But this was only a minor inconvenience. Maid service was a little later in the day than we would have preferred - typically not yet serviced when we returned at the end of the afternoon to shower and dress for dinner.Good experience, we would consider staying here again in the future Complimentary breakfast was above average.

. All-in-all not horrible, just not enjoyable for a beach vacation. Spending a few more bucks and to get ocean front would be worth the extra cost. Continental breakfast food items were always running out. It seemed like hotel catered to long term work crews needing a place to stay while in the area. The room size and features were good, sleeper sofa, king bed and kitchenette area, but seemed old and somewhat dated. Hallways had the stench of stale cigarette smoke. The check in receptionist was not friendly, however the person I spoke with when checking out was nice.Would not stay again We did not enjoy our stay.

. It just no longer shines like a new penney but it is not gross or anything like that. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Not New or Shiny, but Comfortable & Kind Hotel is a little run down but service is good and for the money it cost, mid summer and all the breakfast included, it was a good value.

... The breakfast buffet was great as well! Would definitely return. The staff was kind and courteous, and very helpful.Very Confortable Stay I enjoyed the hotel very much.

. Travelers tip on local attractions Go to the aquarium and McCurdy’s on the causeway is really good. The refrigerator and extra pull-out couch/sitting area were nice. After the first night, the room was "cleaned" but, oops, the half-used bar of soap was left on the drain and the pink gel globs were still untouched. The daytime front desk people were quite the opposite and quite informative, too. The night shift front desk person was less than personable or helpful and did not relay requests we needed for housekeeping. Oops. The bathroom wall had globs of some sort of pink gel. Oops. Not so good When we entered the room, we found an empty can of soda and an empty bottle of water.

Not my best experience Ols, tired and dirty.

. Would not stay at this location again. We typically always enjoy Amerisuites but were very disappointed by the condition of our room. However, our room still had used soap in shower, dirty glasses, etc.Dirty room The hotel was in great beach location and lobby looked good.

. Descent place though. I guess I wish there had been more detail to cleaning.when you consider you hold the phone close to your mouth + how many people touched it before I finally cleaned it... Gross.they felt like they had not been cleaned in a very long other words... My only complaint was the telephones in the room were sticky and so was the remote control to the TV. Comfortable. Good breakfast.Comfortable The hotel was nice.

. Should you happen to go there, make sure you check out The Channel Markers for dinner,a fine restaurant on the water. Not too far from Fort Macon State Park which is a lovely place to tour and very accessible to Morehead City’s Waterfront. Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay AmeriSuites is located in a very nice location.Their complimentary breakfast alone had me contemplating staying in their hotel for a week versus a condo where I would have to prepare my own breakfast. Anyone would be satisfied.Looking for More AmeriSuites I mainly chose this hotel because I am a breakfast person and AmeriSuites has a spread you wouldn’t believe.

. Also the beds aren’t the most comfortable; at least not the ones in our room. There was hair in our shower when we arrived. The rooms, however, were a little dirtier than I would have liked. It is a 5 minute walk across the street to the public beach access. The rooms are not oceanside but depending on your location you can still see the ocean from your room. The staff was mostly pleasant and the free breakfast was better than I expected.Decent beach hotel The rooms are large and include a couch, microwave, and fridge.

.It said it was heated but It didn’t seem to be. The pool was nice but cold early in the mornings. Becareful and looking both ways. Lots of traffic going both ways. Crossing the road to get to the Beach is hairy. That was good of them,We got to unload and get to the beach.Checked In Early We got there an hour early and they let us check in.

. Will never return. Also not worth the cost. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone else. We had to go out and buy Febreeze and spray the entire room just to stay there. Front Desk stated there were no other available rooms. Room smelled so bad that we had to try and change rooms. Will never return there Room was not as described on Expedia review and was not as I had requested.

Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay be sure you are okay with no view. We didn’t stay but checked out and went elsewhere. Nothing wrong with the hotel, but not what we were expecting or wanting for our ’beach getaway’ weekend. We got a glimpse of someone’s backyard with a small swamp and a portion of a golf course. It’s on the sound side of the island, but you don’t see the sound from your hotel room. Not so.Just beware of what you’re getting We mistakenly thought this hotel was on the beach.

. The only downside is that there is no restaurant in the hotel, but there’s a nice complimentary breakfast. I would recommend this hotel, and the off season rates are unbeatable.Pleasant stay This was a very comfortable & convenient hotel stay.
