    Providence’s Best Buy

The finest hotel Providence has to offer, hands down. Price, comfort, cleanliness, and service all five stars. Bravo

    The Hilton.... really?

I expected the Hilton to be a little roomier than less expensive hotels. I was wrong.

    A Bit Dissappointing

I expected a little more from a HILTON. We had to ask for shampoo and we requested extra towels and only got them one day, even after we left a hand written note for housekeeping. My husband had to fix the lock on our door and he had to fix our shower head. The lobby was clean and inviting, but the floor we staid on had trash in the hallway. The price was right and it was close(across the street)to where my niece, whom we were visiting, lived. I would stay there again for the convenience and the price deal we got, but there was nothing about the hotel itself that was that impressive.

    Travelers tip on dining

The Melting Pot, a fondue restaurant at the base of the Providence Place Mall was a great find. We went for dessert--Chocolate Fondue and had great fun. Our server, Katie, was quite knowledable and really friendly. You’ll have a great time if you’re lucky to get a good server like we did!!

    Fulfilled all our needs

There was a rowdy large group of college students there, but it was still enjoyable and the hotel removed our parking fee b/c of it.

    Very convenient location

I would say the hotel is located in the middle of everything. It’s easy to walk to the train station, mall, Little Italy, or the main bus station. We didn’t need a cab the whole time we stayed in Providence. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall - very nice, I would choose the hotel again.

    Good Enough

For the price, I expected better service. However, I was pleased with the apparent cleanliness of the room and the comfort.

    Travelers tip

Parking is $20/day. Didn’t expect that. Not surprised, being that the hotel is downtown.

    Parking is a Mess

Pay the extra $4 for the valet parking, it would have been worth it. The self-park lot is small and very tight. When I came back to the garage at 10:30pm, the gates were up and all of the parking spots were taken...people had even parked on the ramps.

    excellent

The only bad thing about this hotel was the parking fee, but if you know that going into the stay then it’s excellent. Room was clean and hotel was decorated very nice.

    Be Careful When You Go

When we walked into the lobby there were around 100 pre-teens wandering around. Apparently there was a cheerleading competition and a hockey tournament in the area. It was too noisy to have a drink at the bar, and the kids ran up and down the halls until at least 11 PM. Not exactly what we were looking for in a Valentines weekend get away!

Will definately stay at the Hilton in the future.

I was very impressed with the cleanliness of my room and bathroom. My room even had a new LCD TV.I even received a complimentary Sunday paper. I would definately recommend the Hilton Hotel to any of my family and friends. Also very convenient to Rt. 95. The Don Shula lounge was nice and the bartenders were very friendly.

    Fine for one night stay

Bedding was very good; desk and dresser a bit over-sized; no fridge in room and no vending machine on floor. Wireless internet worked well. Climate easy to control and adjust.

    Travelers tip

Budget $20/self or $24/valet additional expense for on-site parking.

    Great for a short stay

Had a great time for the 3 nights I spent here. The lobby area was a disaster when I got there, but not totally their fault as there was a New Year’s Eve Wedding there. Difficult to get an elevator with intoxicated kids going up and down. Many drinks spilled in the Lobby. Staff cleaned it up by morning. Shula’s Steakhouse, which was part of the hotel was less than pleasant. Way overpriced.....$13 bucks for Ham and Eggs, and the service wasn’t great. Took 45 minutes before I asked where our breakfast was. Other than that, rooms were comfortable and clean. I would go here again, but eat outside of the hotel.

    Travelers tip on dining

Don’t eat in the hotel restaurant. Many other options within walking distance. Cheese Cake factory, Melting Pot, Fire and Ice, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Union Station Brewery....all good

    Providence Hilton

Stayed during a major New England snowstorm that dumped over 15 inches of snow on the region. In town to attend New England Patriots game. Pluses for Hilton-Providence: room cleanliness, easy access on/off I-95, location to shopping, quality room within short drive to Gillette Stadium (25 miles). Minuses for Hilton - Small room (double) for family of 4; must pay for Internet access in room (NOT very accomodating for guests who pay a premium for this type of property; and EXHORBITANT PARKING FEE ($24!) for winter, non-holiday parking in the middle of a major snowstorm! It is not as if we were in the middle of Washington DC, Boston, NYC, or even Philadelphia for that matter! A better parking rate fee should be structured for hotel guests against "day" or "event" or "shopping" guests not staying at the hotel! For a quality property, this Hilton just "nickles-and-dimes" guests for services that should come with the higher room pricetag!

    Travelers tip for business travelers

    Perfect Location

The Providence Hilton is a very convenient hotel, as it is located just off I95 and between Federal Hill and downtown Providence. Everything is in walking distance. We’ll be going back many times.

    Travelers tip on shopping

The Providence Mall is close by with floors and floors of shopping! If you can’t find it there, you don’t need it.

    Hidden Parking Charges

The hotel was decent and centrally located to downtown Providence. I was very surprised that the hotel didn’t offer complementary parking for its guests. The hotel charges an additional $20.00 per day to park, which addes an additional $120.00 to my stay. If I had known this in advance I would have chosen a different hotel.

Travelers tip on saving a few bucks

Don’t stay here, since there is a charge for everything including parking!
