2 short blocks from Federal HallThis place is one block from Liberty Plaza and two short blocks from the Stock Market!Rating:3
Not badPretty good hotel for the price! In a good location very close to a few subway stops.Rating:5
good hotel in good locationHotel very clean, close to shopping area, restaurants. Room clean, good size, bed great. Very hot when I was there, AC was superb. Service was great too. Ice machine hard to get to and could have use a vending machine but everything else ok.
Travelers tipFulton St. subway stop very, very confusing and not much closer for all the hassle. Use Wall st and walk 2 blocks to you meet Nassau st. and walk 2-3 blocks to hotel. Much easier and walk is better too.Rating:5
Best Value in Financial DistrictThe location and convenience of this hotel to my business location was important; the quality and value of the accommodations was a great bonus. Our company will definitely be using this hotel again for business travel.
Travelers tip for business travelersGetting there - if you are taking a cab in from the train station or airport, just tell the driver to take you to the Federal Reserve Building, the hotel shares a corner with the Fed.Rating:4
Good valueGood value for the $$; clean/safe facility; not much in the way of amenities, but close to downtown sights (Battery Park, Ground Zero, Trinity Church, etc); 1/2 block from subway...Out of the way, but well-worth it!Rating:5
beautifulI loved the hotel. The rooms are cozy, the bed was delightful, and the staff was delightful.Rating:5
Good valueThis hotel was a very good value. I have no complaints.Rating:5
Great place to spend your nightI live and work in NYC, but needed a place to stay while renovations were being done in my home. So, for its proximity to my office, I chose "The Reserve". What I didnt expect was one of the highest levels of quality service and overall concern for my stay as I received from the front desk staff and the general manager, who addressed some specific needs. This Hotel is rated very highly and now I know why.Rating:5
A chic little boutique hotelFour of us stayed for 36 hrs...my sister and I and another couple. 2 rooms; ours was on the top floor and pretty large by NY standards; the other room was tiny. Very clean and modern; great air conditioning; extremely comfy king bed. Front desk: the black gentlemen on day shift was terrific! Great attitude and very helpful. The night guy...not so good. 2 word answers and not real helpful. And beware...you have to order a cab 24 hrs. in advance! I assume this is due to the off the big avenue location. We just walked up to Broadway and hailed one. All in all, I would stay here again, if I got the same great rate.Rating:4
Good hotel for a quick business trip.I got a great Expedia price for a 3 night stay. The Reserve is easy to get to by subway, but navigating the Fulton St. station can be tough. It is also a bit of a challenge to find among the narrow financial district streets. Everything about this hotel is downsized and "crammed in". The lobby is a hallway, the elevators are tiny, and the rooms are functional but small. Very small rooms. Did I mention very small rooms? On the plus side, the staff was very friendly, the rooms were pristine, there is a small cafe in the hotel, and there are enough restaurants and bars nearby to work for a quick trip. I will look further uptown for my next vacation trip. You can get more bang for a few dollars more. And there is alot to be said for being in the bustle of midtown. Dont stay here if you are looking for NYC nightlife. That said, this is a good place for a no frills, quiet nights rest at a reasonable price.
Travelers tip on saving a few bucksThe weekend staff is limited. Double check your reservation. I had to switch rooms after the first night due to a booking error on their part, and lost a pair of jeans in the process. I am still waiting for housekeeping to ship them to me. I am not holding my breath!Rating:4
Nice hotelHotel was nice for the price. A block over from Ground Zero. Small but comfortable and clean. Rooms are modern. Would stay there again.Rating:5
Enjoyable stayI thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Reserve and would come back again. In fact, I am going back in September and have booked with them again.Rating:5
Almost perfectVery nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Only one complaint. The hotel said they had wireless internet access throughout the hotel. It did not work in my room. I had to go to the hotel lobby to connect.Rating:5
Everything was the way you would like a hotel to be including the staff. It is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the financial area of NYC. Its location is what we like as well as the comfort and clean rooms. One may find the hallways narrow but then space in NYC is a hard thing to find. Id rather have the narrow halls and a nice size room, they arent large but they are nice for what we wanted. We didnt spend much time in our room because we were seeing the city but the beds were very comfortable and they have what one would need or just ask and the staff will have it ready for you.Rating:5
Great Cheap Hotel In Financial District!Friendly service. Smallish rooms, but with Queen size beds that are very comfortable, showers with very good water pressure, good size LCD TVs (with more news channels than anything else) and a good friendly bar/restaurant on the lobby floor.
Travelers tip on diningCheck out the South St Seaport nearby for a variety of delicious food.Rating:4
Great location, great value!I stumbled on Hotel Reserve while browsing through the list of 3-4 star hotels in Expedia. I wasnt so familiar with it and so I relied a lot on the reviews. At first I was a bit apprehensive since there were mixed reviews, but luckily my stay was fantastic. Going to the hotel from JFK was a bit tricky due to the ongoing road constructions around the area. Not to mention that you cant really see it easily from the street coz its a narrow building and the grey facade doesnt really make it stand out among its neighbors. None the less, it does have its charms. Upon checking in, I was pleased to know that Ill have a room on the topmost floor, the 20th. Got a good view of the top of NY City Hall and a couple of penthouses. The room was quite spacious, which I did not expect looking at the hotel from the outside. Nice bed, nice bathroom, nice flat screen tv, and best of all free internet access! sweet! The only things I would like to be improved was 1) if there could be a small fridge, thatd be swell; and 2) the smoke alarm needs some tending to. On my 2nd night, it beeped incessantly and had to call the maintenance twice to have it fixed. The staff was very patient and helpful so that was comforting. Though I thought that this incident couldve been avoided. Oh and the secondary bolt on my door needs to be fixed.
Travelers tip on saving a few bucksOverall, its a great value for your buck. It has a fantastic location. Did I mention that its right in front of the Federal Reserve (thus the name Hotel Reserve)? So you could say that its in one of the most highly secured areas in the city. Enjoy!Rating:5
impressedHighly recommended for a short stay in downtwon ManhattanRating:5
best service ever! immaculate rooms & friendly, helpful staff!!Hotel is in great location one block from WTC & subway, and across the street from Fed Reserve. Short walk to Wall & Broad & Battery Park. Service is impeccable. Friendly people, smiles, check in & out is a breeze, more helpful than we could have asked for. Where else in NYC will the hotel staff remember who you are - including the maintenance guy - who is VERY knowledgeable about the area & is so friendly & helpful! (never needed maintenance help, hes just nice) The area is empty at night, but OK. Starbucks on corner & fast food one block away open early for bfast. Room is small but immaculate & the bed is the most comfortable Ive slept in. Free wi-fi a huge plus! Definitely recommend stay here!
Travelers tip on diningFood near hotel hard to find if you return late at night. Go to "Charleys" one block south of WTC - its open WAY late & has excellent greasy food (and salads too, if youre into that sorta thing)Rating:5
What a Sleeper! We were a bit apprehensive when we approached the main entrance, however the friendly, helpful staff put at ease right away. The room was beautiful and modern, all new bath, and the bed was VERY comfy. We will be staying here again for sure--the staff are amazing!Rating:5
Great Hotel, good locationThe room was clean, the staff friendly and helpful. The location is very close to the subway which is a quick ride to many places in the city. Quick walk to Wall St or ground zero.
Travelers tip on recreational activitiesQuick walk to the Brooklyn Bridge for great views and the best NY pizza on the other side.Rating:5
Modest, Clean and FriendlyA great little place in the heart of the financial district. Great for business travel. The room was clean and had a decent internet connection. The room was small but perfect for my needs. The area is very quiet at night, no real hotspots nearby. The staff was more than friendly and courteous. I would stay there again on a business trip without hesitation.Rating:5
Hotel ReserveThis unassuming hotel was a surprisingly comfortable and cost-effective option. It is perfect for the single traveller or couple without children who needs a comfortable place to sleep, work, and travel to areas in lower NYC/Brooklyn--mostly due to the small size of the rooms. Safe, short subway walk, staff are friendly and helpful, near restaurants. Would definately stay there again.Rating:5
Bigggg for NY & sooooo cozyKing size bed, nice and clean... u cannot go wrong with this hotel.Rating:5
Nice Hotel for CheapI truly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Reserve. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. The best part was really its inexpensiveness. I felt that I got much more than my moneys worth. It can be incredibly expensive to stay in Manhattan, but this hotel was cheaper than many hotels in much less interesting cities, and it was only a quick subway ride away from everything I wanted to see in New York City.Rating:4
Small but perfectly formedHotel Reserve was good quality for the price. Room was very small but very clean. Staff are friendly & helpful. Location is convenient & at night it is quite. We did not eat at the cafe attached to the hotel so cannot comment. Only issue we had was being able to access the wireless internet. Overall we would recommend staying at this hotel as long as you do not have a fear of small spaces.
Travelers tip on local attractionsCheck out Brooklyn Heights, its worth the walk across the bridge. Also, if you are a Brooklyn Larger Fan, a visit to the brewery is a lot of fun. If you feel like bike riding, hire a bike from Battery Park. The bike path that runs along the Hudson is fantastic & alternative way of experiencing Manhattan. Take the path up to Pier 83 or beyond.
