Outdated With Hidden PricesBeware of the $20 per night per vehicle surcharge when staying at this hotel. It may be close to Fenway, but when you average in the outdated decore with the pricey parking, I would have opted to pay just a little more for a nicer, newer hotel.Rating:4
Great StayNice hotel to stay in especially if your going to see game at Fenway park.convenience to park was well worth staying there also close to other attractions.Rating:1
not impressedit was just dirty and priced way to high
Travelers tip on local attractionsfenway is closeRating:4
HoJo Fenway ParkWasnt expecting much, but its very convienient to the House of Blues on Lansdowne St. where I was going to see Extreme, so I booked it in spite of the soso reviews. Not nearly as bad as I expected, fine for a night. The doors were a little thin, so noise of doors shutting might have been annoying if I had planned on sleeping alot, I didnt, so not a problem really. Staff were pleasant and generally helpful. Room was clean enough. Id stay there again if I was going back to the House of Blues for another show.
Travelers tip on diningHouse of Blues has very good food, and is reasonable. Great Staff, for concerts its an excellent venue. Oh yeah, the bannana bread pudding is fabulous!Rating:5
Hotel has excellent location to everythingWe went to a red sox game and the hotel was right in Fenways backyard. Nice location and would stay again. Staff was very pleasant. Only downfall I wish they offered coffee in the lobby throughout the evening. Coffee was in rooms but didnt know if they would charge so I didnt use it. Continental breakfast would have been Great!
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayconvenient to everythingRating:1
An overpriced bustStaff did little to deal with multiple late night disturbances, loud drunks banging on doors for an hour at 3am, fire alarms, etc. Also, when I forgot something in the room and remembered the same night, they were unable to give it to me, but instead will mail it to me and charge me for the mail fee.Rating:3
Fine for Basic HotelStayed there for one night to look at Boston colleges. Fine for that - I wouldnt like to be there on a Red Sox game night though - the room literally looked at the stadium wall!Rating:2
good for overnight for a game thats about it!needs repairs! staff ok-rooms not so ok. great for a quick trip to a game.fenway is right around the corner. also cost a bit high for conditionRating:4
Helped us immenselyOur car battery was dead when we went to leave at 6:00 in the morning. The bell captain helped us get a jump. He was wonderfulRating:3
fair enoughthis hotel is cheap enough for you to stay in Boston for a short period of time, especially if you a Red Sox fan.Rating:2
Acceptable hotel to stay for few daysExcellent and friendly service from staff. Good and kind hearted employees working at the hotel. Hotel condition is a two star hotel. A parking fee of $20 is charged over night.
Travelers tip on local attractionsStay in room upstair, it is quieter and better condition.Rating:5
Perfect for a large group/family reunionFenway Howard Johnsons was great. We went to Boston for a family event. The staff was great, they were able to give us 5 rooms next to each other. The motel is in a great location, our view was Fenway Park!!! Tons of things to do within walking distance and the resturant down stairs was great. We want to go back!!!Rating:1
Should be demolished and rebuiltStaff nice but overall the hotel had funny smell, room needed to be completely re-modeled (from ceiling to floor), heating unit was so loud that every time it went on it woke us up.
Ill be backFor my needs, this hotel was a good choice. It fully met my expectations, was in a convenient location, clean room and reasonable price. I arrived well before check-in time, and they were able to get me in a room right away. After taking a red-eye the night before, that was greatly appreciated.Rating:4
Affordable for BostonHoward Johnsons Inn at Fenway is an older hotel which has not been updated as much as it should it should be. The location is awesome if you are a baseball fan because it is literally backed right up against Fenway Park. The price is generally more affordable than most other hotels in Boston but then again there are a limited number of rooms and the hotel is outdated. I wasnt real pleased with the front desk staff particularly when they made a copy of my credit card and my identification. I had never heard of a hotel making a copy of a customers credit card and identification. Any way the room was adequate and clean and they did have free WiFi. Do know that they charge @20.00 per day to park your car in the parking lot.Rating:2
Close to FenwayHotel is fine for short stay...right next door to Fenway.Rating:2
Close as you can get to FenwayHotel and room were as expected. No frills but great if you want to stay at Fenway. Walk right out the door and into all the fun. Restaurants, bars, souvenir shops and best of all, Fenway. It must have been less than 100 feet from our hotel room!
Travelers tip on diningAs a side note, dont eat at the restaurant in the hotel lobby. Its not affiliated with the hotel. We had breakfast there. Just awful food and service. Do yourself a favor and go across the street.Rating:2
Not impressed...go only cuz its cheapest when Red Sox not in townI walked into my "cleaned room" and found: broken jewelry on floor: ground floor window was open (no security bars on it) and window lock barely staying on; fortune cookie still in wrapper between desk and chair; and the topper - there was still piss in the toilet.
Travelers tip on local attractionsNewbury Street was wicked awesome. Fenway Park tour was great. Paradise Rock Club (near BU) was absolutely awesome.Rating:5
Location, Location, LocationThis hotel was close to everything. Definitely would return.Rating:3
Very close, clean but no frillsAround the corner from Fenway. Clean, but nothing exciting. Perfect for a 3-4 stay to watch some baseball. Friendly staff, hot water with good shower pressure. What more could a man ask for ?Rating:4
Cant Beat the ViewStayed here for the Sox game and was amazed how close we were to Fenway. Opened our window and there was right field right across the street. Its a 5 min cab ride from the train station, and 15 from Logan AP. If you are a real Soxs fan you have to stay here. You walk out the door and your on Yawkey Way in 1 minute. What a block party!! Theres a new Wing place across the street - Chicken to the Bone! its great. This isnt a 5 star hotel but for the baseball fan its almost heaven. We had plenty of AC and hot water, and the front desk was very helpful and friendly. We will be back. For the view of Fenway ask for the even number rooms on the second floor. We stayed in 222 and it was perfect.
Travelers tip on shoppingIf you go to a Sox game and stay here and your looking for Sox merchandise go to the shop on Yawkey Way. They have everything, and I mean everything a Sox fan could want. Every Jersey every number.Shirts, jackets, hats, for kids women and men.Rating:1
no ACWe stay here for every Redox home game because its so close. This was by far our worst stay ever. Temp was in the 80s and they hadnt turned on the AC at all. They said it was too early in the spring.......Hopefully in August when we return theyll have it up and running. Our room was so hot! It must have been in the 90s in the room and windows are bolted shut. Bring a fan and your own pillow.Rating:4
perfect for Socks gamesIf your coming from out of town to go to Fenway you can not find a more convient location. The Lounge was a nice surprise, lots of friendly people.Rating:2
Convenient for baseball fansGreat location next to Fenway Park, and if youre going to town just to see a game, cant beat it. However, the place is very run down, the whole building smells of cigarettes, and you must be prepared to either ride the subway or get a cab if youre going to or from the airport, as no shuttle.Rating:3
location, location, locationThis was our 2nd stay here. The hotel is directly behind Fenway Park so its our only choice when going to a Red Sox game and staying overnight. The hotel is dated and needs updating. I hope they dont tear it down like they are predicting.
Travelers tip on local attractionsGo Sox! Make sure and check out Beer Works Brewery just around the corner. Fantastic micro brewery and great food. If youre attending a game be sure to get there 2 or 3 hours early to enjoy Yawkee way.
