. Airport.K.F. I wouldnt hesitate to book again, for a short-term, overnight stay, in order to catch an early morning flight out of J. The prices are extremely competitive compared to its nearby competitors of the same class.

The Howard Johnson hotel is less than a 10-minute drive to the airport. Would I personally stay here again? Yes - but only for one night, short-term, in order to catch an early morning flight. The only thing that really irked us was a HUGE 3" cockroach that was crawling around in the bathtub. Our room was clean and comfortable. The public areas are nothing to write home about, as expected from a budget-hotel. The staff was courteous. We cracked jokes all night about someone breaking into and stealing our car. Parking in the lot is extremely limited so expect to park on the street (which is around the corner from the building). The hotel itself is not in the best of neighborhoods, but this isnt a fair evaluation when one considers the fact that Jamaica, NY, is not an affluent neighborhood. Seeing as how the hotel is less than a 10-minute drive to the airport, it was definitely the convenience factor that sold it for us. Airport.K.F.Cheap, Comfy, but Cockroached
We stayed here very briefly for 1 night in order to catch an early morning flight from J.
...better then most i ve had.... cont breakfast was nice ...Trip
every thing was clean & fresh parking was spars.
.Very bad service, quality, un-clean and un-kept............

DO NOT EVER STAY AT THE HOWARD JOHNSON MOTEL in Jamaica Queens New York. I hated my stay. Price was extremely high, over priced and not worth one penny.I highly recommend that no one stay there.................Will never stay there again
Howard Johnson JFK/Jamaica New York is a terrible place for anyone.
.The complimentary breakfast was seriously lacking in quality and variety. Had to wait for 30+ mins at the airport for the shuttle to arrive.Decent service, bad breakfast
The room was a little cramped but clean.
. This was a good place to stay that was near JFK Airport with a shuttle to boot. The facilities were in good shape. The rooms were clean. The staff were accommodating.Decent Motel
This motel was an all around nice place to stay.
.
If you do not live in NYC and need to get a plane in an early morning, stay overnight in this hotel. You do not need to wait long to be pick up at the airport and people are very frendly.Place to rest and pick up a airplane
Convenient hotel, close to the airport, clean, and the shuttle service available is excellent.
. I felt at home as the staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything was much better than my expectations for the price.Very friendly staff
I spent only one night there.

Good on a budget. The free breakfast was good, even made waffles for you when you wanted them. It is in the ghetto & we were to afraid to go out at night. No place nearby to eat except for Burger King. The hotel was nice for the budget, but the area was terrible.Nice hotel, horrible location
We were tight on funds and wanted to stay close to JFK airport and HOJO offers a free shuttle service.
.One night stay
we were very comfortable at the hotel, staff was courtious, the only disadvantage to the hotel was that there was little park availiable at the hotel, we had to park on the street.
. But the bed and bathroom were clean and that is what we needed at the time. I would not have sat in the chair in the room. We needed a place to flop for the night and this fit the bill.Clean but thats about all
We were really tired when we arrived and were leaving in the early morning.
In a good spot
easy to get around to places in that area.
.had to ride a bus for about 20 minutes to get to the subway... The subway station was farther away than I thought.very little waiting, although we had to take the Air Train to get to the pick-up point... The shuttle service was efficient.Good Place to stay for Airport Access
Price was very reasonable.
. So make sure before you book if you have a deadline to meet. So another expense with 2 cabs and 2 different prices, and the same distance.m. After Im almost there they told me the shuttle stops at 10p. Because the one reason I choose this Hotel was that they said they had a shuttle to and from the Airport and it was close.

Make sure to ask the hours of the shuttle. It was very different from what Im use to, I work with puplic and that was very rude on their part. And the shuttle mess up, you need to list your hours of the shuttle and that there is only one. So not a very personable experience. So they watched as I struggled down with suitcases,a carry on and purse. Niether guy offered to help with my suitcases, and the one never said anything. After I got checked in he told me to go down the stairs and around the corner. Neither one acknowledged me so I waited for the one to finish with the person in front of me and he then talked with the delivery guy again. I said hi to the one standing at the end of the desk. When I went in to register there were 2 guys at the desk, one was waiting on someone & also talking to someone delivering food. I was alone. when I got in so I got the cab that was unexpected.m.Not Quite Sure
It was about 11p.
. Staff was helpful. It is close to the airport, but if you want to go into the city, it is not convenient.Close to airport
Room was fine.
. Very close to the airport. If you cannot afford to stay at any other hotels, I would recommend this since people are very nice and the service is great and very reasonble to fit your budget. I would definitely stay again.Consider stay again
Very great and inexpensive hotel.
. Service people, not kind with passangers. Not such a ting as "Free Internet" IT HAS A WIRELESS Wi-Fi; Althoug I asked for the free shuttle to JFK, they did not provide me the service , aurguing an early departure flight.Wont go there any more
Hotel did not keep room offered: Quin or King size bed, Non smoking; I had to accept a double bed room, not confortable at all.
Dont come here. We call from the taxi to get the correct address and the front office person said we was to busy!!!. But once you get to the hotel you dont get any help at all. The hotel is close to the airport, a taxi will run you on 20$ aprox.24 hours in NY
If you want a hotel with no quality of service this is your place.
. i think that she shouldnt send her frends!she should have send a normal legal yelow cab.which is outreagus price.including that the reception lady "nicley" sugested to send a cab which was my only option, when the cab arrived it was not a formal cab it was a black car and he charged me for 20$ for a 5 min ride. which was partley right,i landed in jfk at 11:20 pm and when i called the hotel about the shuttle she talled me the shutles ends at 11 pm.Satisfection issues
my first problem with the hotel is that on my reservation was writen 24 hours free shutlle service.
. We were just staying at this hotel overnight by the airport before an early morning flight. It was scary to go outside the hotel at night. I could not sleep most of the night. Not Impressed
This Hotel was located in a bad neighborhood.
. Handy 5 - 10 minute free shuttle to and from JFK. The staff were some of the best - we found them very happy and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I think it was coming from the basin and shower waste and was very off putting. The only real complaint was a very bad smell when we walked into the room.
Would stay again, but we were expecting at least a Queen size bed (there was just the one bed in this particular room)but it was just a double and little cramped for the 2 of us, compared to what we are used to.Would stay again.
. Its worth it. You can even get multi-day passes for the trains for unlimited use of the subway. The subways are extremely easy to use, and people are surprisingly helpful.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay
For those who want to venture into NYC, make sure you stay in a hotel near a train station. just a place to lay down near the airport... But as I said, it is what it is. Its a very inconvenient location for the train and even for nearby restaurants (or lack thereof). But there is free wifi and breakfast every morning. It would have been nice if the remote control on my tv worked. But the rooms are clean enough. The motel itself has a bad funk to it, smelled like sweaty socks. The staff is pretty cold, but not mean. If you take a cab, youll be spending money unnecessarily when the train system is so easy to use. Its not a very good neighborhood and its a 30-40 minute bus ride to the nearest train to Manhattan, which takes another 30 minutes to get to. However, if you plan on staying for more nights and doing some venturing around NYC, this is not the place. If youre just staying the night and wanna stay near the airport, then this hotel is fine. just a cheaper place to lay down on a bed for a night near the airport...It is what it is - a room and a bed
Howard Johnsons in Jamaica, Queens is what it is.
. The connection offered was pricy and slow. Would have liked to see free internet available for those of us without laptops. Quick easy check in. Staff was very friendly.Good value
Our room was clean and neat.
. I am sure there are better options for staying near the airport, but not this one.It is not an airport hotel !!!
There is no rational reason that someone should prefer this hotel for staying.

Was cheapest hotel close to airport. Not in very nice area, but close to airport. Reliable suttle service to airport. Was enough for overnight just until connecting flight in am, nothing better. Supposed to be nonsmoking and smelled of smoke.
Room was ok.Good for overnight only with next day flight.
If you like service dont book here. Upon arrival we found the shuttle stops at 11pm!!! we had a nightmare trying to get a cab and when we got to the hotel they couldnt care less. Not the best
We booked this hotel as expedia said it had a free airport shuttle and we knew we would fly in late.
