. Wonderful spa and pool areas (adult only areas too if you dont have kids) - overall a very relaxing resort - I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to have a family getaway. Staff was very friendly and helpful.Best Family Get-away
Very family oriented - lots of activities for the kids.
. Would go again. Everything was well laid out and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The lazy river pool and Smores every evening were some of highlights of the hotel.Great place to stay
Great place to stay with children.
. Had a craving for them back at the hotel and tried ribs from one of their restaurants - it reminded me of why I dont eat pork - fatty, greasy, and unappealing. I dont usually eat pork but have to say she was right. I actually had the ribs after the waitress told me they were the best. Nice restaurant on the hills above the river to have lunch - sorry, I cannot remember the name. Very cute and on the river. Visit Gruene.
Travelers tip
Eat out - hotel food rather poor. Separate but very small adult only pool but - it was ok. One good thing - the swimming pool is pretty cool for kids and there are a lot of things. People smoke outside on their balconies and it drifts in to the hotel. Loud, loud, loud and lots of cigarette smoke. Towels were very dingey even when I requested replacements. Pillows smelled like someone elses head. Windows in room were painted shut. Very old - desperately needs updating. Not what I expected for a Hyatt
I was here for a week on business.
" Hellooooo!. When we asked front desk for a good restaurant on the Riverwalk the resonse was "We dont know, only tourist go to the Riverwalk. 2. Towel station was always closed and when we went to Health Club for towels we had to wait for a person to show up and get us some. Only two complaints: 1.Really enjoyed our stay
Our girls loved the Rattlesnake River and our whole trip was very relaxing and pleasant.
. This place is the next best thing. The nicest hotel in Bastrop would be Hyatt Lost Pines but that is really expensive. Walmart is just across the parking lot if you forgot anything. It is close to all the restaurants and shops.
The nicest reasonably priced hotel in town.Great place for a little town.
.
Great for families with plenty of activities, the tube rides, marsh mellow roasting, hoola hoops, bicycles, nature walks etc. Try going during the week to get some peace. The only other complaint is that the hotel was really busy on the weekend. If you have kids you may want to bring some padded edges for this. I got one really huge dark purple bruise that is still there. That and the bed posts are really pointy, my husband and I kept bruising our legs on it. They could have had more vegetarian food that is my only chagrin. Clean, full of activities.Awesome resort!
The place was wonderful.
. Eat a big meal late, and skip lunch. My granddaughter never wanted to leave!
Travelers tip on saving a few bucks
The breakfast buffet was excellent. Even though there was an adults-only pool, the presence of so many kids gave it a carnival atmosphere (this was start of summer) Im not sure couples without children would appreciate. The staff were very friendly and good with the kids.Family-friendly
With the water park, the sandy beach, the tube down the river--it was a childrens paradise.
Room service was good too! We are already planning on going back!. However, the spa is very nice. Unfortunately, it rained the majority of the time we were there, so we didnt get to enjoy the amazing pool area. Will return
I booked this hotel as a weekend getaway with my girlfriends (I live in San Antonio).
. Pools, although we didnt spend time there looked fantastic for both kids and adults.the location was great....Comfortable
The hotel was very comfortable.
Dont get me wrong this is a very nice property out in the country (feels like) with many things to do! It was Easter weekend and they said that they were at 95% capacity and the kids get loud and I said, it wasnt the kids it was the parents!!! Drunk and loud and smoking, something that absolutely makes me sick and we reserved a non-smoking room, but the back door entrance to our room is where the drunk smokers hung out, outside of their rooms on both sides of us!!! If it wasnt for the 3rd night free we would never had gone there!!! I still think we overpaid!!! Luckily we werent there very often as there is so much to do in San Antonio!!!.If your taking your kids and dont mind a lot of noise, this is the place for you!
This is not a 5 star Hotel, the service is very good but the rooms need to be updated, old square tvs, had to change rooms because people were walking by looking right in our room, it had a see thru curtain! To top it off the kids noise I can live with but the parents on both sides of us were drunk and loud and smoking cigarettes and I saw the lady next door either get pushed or hit to the ground!! I called front desk and told them and they moved us far away and treated us to Champagne and Strawberries and melted chocolate since it was our 15th aniversary.
. We highly recommend this hotel and next time we are in San Antonio, we will stay here!
Travelers tip on recreational activities
Loved horse back riding at Running R Guest Ranch in Bandera and Sea World was excellent and 3 minutes from the Hyatt. The location is perfect especially if you are going sight seeing and the staff recommended great restaurants and places to go. The golf course was wonderful, the lazy river and pools were enjoyed by all!! My dad and I had massages and the spa is first class.Excellent Family Accomodations
Our extended family of 12 (6 adults 6 children) really enjoyed the Hyatt.
We had a wonderful time!. Its still beautiful, however not as pristine as I remembered.A great place to visit
This is my second visit to the hotel.
. I lucked out booking late for the room. One oddity--the rate available for the room fluctuated quite a bit right up until the weekend I arrived. The grounds were very nice all around and the big boisterous wedding at the other end of the hotel looked very happy indeed (and blessedly silent from all the rooms). Beautiful drive in and the pool looked great (although I didnt get a chance to indulge).Pretty Decent
Very nice lobby and fun little bar.
. This is a wonderful hotel. Incredible staff. We stayed over New Years and there was a carnival for the kids, smores and a BBQ dinner all included in the price of our room.Great For Families
We had the best time at the Hyatt.
. It is worth the money to experience its luxuary. We love it.Remains one of San Antonios Best
We have stayed at The Hyatt Hill Country many times, and keep coming back.
. Best food around.
Travelers tip on dining
A trip to San Antonio is never complete without a dinner at Mi Terras, located in the Mexican Market. We will definitely be back. We usually stay downtown, but we really enjoyed the quiet and relaxing atmosphere HHCR offered. Great location if planning to go to Sea World. The breakfast service was the best.Wonderful Place to Stay
We had an excellent stay at HHCR, the staff was friendly and helpful.
. Loads to do around the area. Spa is great although a little expensive. excellent choice of hotel!
Travelers tip on recreational activities
there are lots of activities available through the hotel and only a $15 per day fee. high standards. beautiful surroundings. great food. great service. Will definately be back!
very clean.
.
The little ones will have tons of stuff to do here. Definitely will be our spot for future seaworld and san antonio trips. Cant say enough about this hotel. Great service, beautiful rooms, great food, fantastic amenities like being able to ride hotel provided bikes around grounds and the wonderful lazy river. Will not stay anywhere else but here
this hotel was wonderful! My husband and 2 and 4 year old stayed here on a trip to Seaworld and it was perfect.
. The Best Mexican food I have ever had.
Travelers tip on dining
You have to check out Mi Tierra Mexican restaurant at the Market Square. A+ service with lots of smiles! Im sure you will enjoy your stay as much or even more than I did. Every single staff person I interacted with was very polite and heplful. It looked like there was plenty of activites for kids to do.
I cant wait to go back! I will recommend this place to a solo traveler or even someone traveling with a big family. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.
.Great place for the whole family!
This resort has something for everybody!! From the golf, to the lazy river, pools, restaurants, and planned kids activities you cannot go wrong with this resort!! On the day we checked out my kids were asking when we were coming back!! The staff was always willing to go out of their way to assist with any and every thing you could possibly need or want.
. On the day you check out you can do the same.
Can get to hotel before check-in time and they will hold your bags and you can use all the hotel facilities. You can go there for vacation and never leave the hotel because of all the activities they have set up for families and especially kids.Great Hotel for Families
Nice to find a hotel that is set-up for families.
. IT IS EXPENSIVE BUT WORTH IT.
Travelers tip on shopping
YOU MUST HAVE DINNER AT THE RESTAURANT AT THE TOWER OF THE AMERICAS. IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN THEY WILL LOVE THIS RESORT. WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN AND LOOK FORWARD TO DOING SO SOON. CONVENIENT TO HIGHWAY WHICH MAKES GETTING AROUND SAN ANTONIO VERY EASY. FOOD AT RESTAURANTS WAS VERY GOOD. THE STAFF COULDNT BE NICER AND HELPFUL. MANY THINGS TO DO ONSITE.HAD A WONDERFUL TIME
THIS IS A TERRIFIC RESORT.
.Nice place for families
The hotel really has a lot to do for all ages.
. I have already recommended this hotel to my friends and had a great trip. Our 3 year old loved the playground and the beach, and my husband and I enjoyed the lazy river. While our room was nothing special, the grounds were amazing.Loved the beach
We will definitely go back to this hotel.
. Its worth it at the end of the long day. We will definitely stay here again!
If youre going to SeaWorld, spend the extra few bucks to get Shamu parking, right up next to the gate. Take advantage of the unlimited smores by the fire every night and the concierges vast knowledge of the area. Very comfy beds, friendly & helpful staff, wonderful food, beautiful grounds and great amenities, complimentary washer/dryer. What a fabulous time! I cant think of one thing that went wrong.Great Great Great
This was our first trip to San Antonio and our first stay at a Hyatt Resort.
