. Other than that the rooms are nice and clean. Is really hard to find free parking spots in Waikiki and the hotel charge too much to park inside... The only thing that they could offer for free for the guests would be free parking lot.Good option!
Nice hotel a few blocks from Waikiki Beach, staff were friendly and they also have a nice swimming pool, sauna, laundry and mini market inside the hoteel.
. The "canal" view is better than the city view. Small dining area in main living space. Kitchen is adequate, and helped keep the total vacation cost reasonable with meals in our room. One bedroom has nice balcony off the bedroom, and twin beds/couches in the living. Nice facilities: pool, spa, sauna, laundry room, on-site convenience store. Our second stay, and the staff recognized us at check in.Good for the family
Nice hotel in the heart of Waikiki, easy walk to nice restaurants, the beach, shopping.
. If your looking for good price stay here. The kitchen was great and our overall experience at the Island Colony was a good one. The pool area is nice and the hotel has a convenient mini mart on the 6th floor. The rooms were comfortable, not top of the line, but a nice place to stay at a good price. The staff and housekeeping were extrememly helpful. Close to the International Market Place, Waikiki Beach, and nightlife at the Waikiki Trade Center.Hawaii Vacay
Island Colony was in an excellent location.
. There are also good restaurants at International Market. Theres also one at Stadium that somebody mentioned to me, but we ran out of time. Vendors will cut the price way way down.
Travelers tip on shopping
It is good to shop at International Market close to closing time. It has a complete kitchen so you can cook if you dont want to eat out. We were at the 40th floor, so it has a great city view. The staff are nice & helpful except for 1 lady staff at the parking garage.. It is close to everything, Waikiki Beach, clubs, stores, etc.Superb Hotel
It was our familys 1st trip to Hawaii and we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
. In total, we just needed a place to sleep, but didnt really get a good sleep. There were wooden cupboards around the sink, but the wood was rotten and several doors were missing. There was a tiny air conditioner that did little to cool the room, and no way to create a cross breeze without leaving the door to the hallway open. The beds were awful - hard mattress on a plywood platform. There was a pool, but it was closed by the time we arrived. The room did come with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We payed significantly less than most other properties for this room, so we werent expecting much more than we got.Hot, uncomfortable beds, rotting cupboards
We only stayed one night, in town to visit U of H before going on to another island.
Thank-you for a great time!. The housekeeping staff was wonderful, they took care of our requests with courtesy and a smile. The staff was not only helpful but quick to see to any of our needs.Great Value, Excellant customer service!
My family and I had a great experience here! The value for our money was exceptional.
. This gave us the opportunity to eat cheap and splurge at nicer resturants. They have several mall like food courts in which a meal can be picked up for less than $10. You can pick surf and turf for dinner for under $15. The best priced meal is full breakfast for less than $4.
Travelers tip on dining
I was worried about the cost of dining out! However in Waikiki their are dining facilities for every price point (Major chains (McDs, Dennys, PF Changs to Family owned). Id stay there again. However, it offers everything you need -- small convient store where the soda was less than a dollar, washers, dryers, and a pool. Their is on sight security 24 hours but I really didnt see a need for it. This is not a resort -- dont expect to be pampered-NO bellman for luggage, no room service (unless you count pizza delivery), the maid has to have the room cleaned by 5, and you are helped when you ask for it.) The air didnt get as cool as I like (70)but other people in my party were cold.m. The staff was really nice and helpful (kept our bags until 7:30 p.Good value
This is a great hotel for people on a budget(me)! It is really close to everything and the room was nicely sized including an adequate kitchen that was stocked with dishes.
.Recommend this hotel
It is a good place to stay with this reasonable price.
. The staff were really friendly. While it is only 2 blocks away from the beach, theyre two long blocks. The room smelled like cigarette smoke even though we got a non-smoking room.Spend the extra few bucks
The beds were old and hard to sleep in, neither the hair dryer nor the remote control were working, the bathroom door got stuck, and to top it off, several "bugs" were seen.
. swimming pool are not working during the stay. but hotel peoples are very friendly.
I was not very pleased due to not provide any coffee in the morning , the bed are very old and bed cover was found a dirty bloodstain on it.This hotel need update newbed and clean bed cover.
. Will use again. Not a 4 or 5 star however, adequate. Not that far from Waikiki. The cost was nominal a secondary reason of importance.Reasonable and close enough to Waikiki
It is a smokable hotel and for me that was important.
.We will stay again!
Hotel Is preety good and I would stay there again.
Better to save your money and explore on your own,. Too much time spent waiting in the Q and then you wait for a mandatory movie. Hanamu Bay was a huge disappointment. Go to the North shore for great shrimp and the West coast for snorkeling or diving.it is as good or better than any jungle in the US...
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay
Plan to see the Maunawili jungle. They are excellent people who try very hard to make things comfortable and more than make up for whatever shortcomings you may encounter. This place is best characterized by the personel.Good value
We were not expecting a 5 star setting.
. I recomend the hotel.Great hotel
It s a great hotel with wonderfull location and beutifull people.
I stayed at this hotel for five nights and they were very helpful in extending my stay an extra night - even after Id lost my debit card!.Extremely good value.
The balcony gave a beautiful view of the river bank and the mountains (we had city view)
Travelers tip on nightlife
Visit Senor Frogg. - Student friendly
The hotel was near one of the main streets in Wakiki and there was a lot of places to go out at night.Nice price lvl.
. However, the bathroom was tiny and not very clean and the kitchenette was not very clean either. The registration clerk was friendly and helpful.Good if you need a room for a night or two
It was over a nice place.
. Enjoyed the activities with the power pass. If you like pineapple, the Dole whip is delicious. Drive around the island.
Travelers tip on local attractions
Go to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Close to the International Market place and the beach. Didnt spend much time in the room. Nice to have a fridge and microwave. Overall, it was okay. Said they had no extra rooms, but the next day, they moved us up to a cleaner room with a nicer view.Overall okay
We got a gross room the first night, broken AC, bugs in the bed, hard bed, very stinky because it was next door to the trash.
. book the room for four night, but only stay there for three night.Worst hotel I have even been in
bad hotel service, smelly room, and even found bugs on the bed.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay
The upper floors are best. Expedia has a better deal than going to Aqua resorts. It is a great hotel for the price.Best Deal on Waikiki
This was the 4th time Ive stayed at Island Colony.
Nice short stay
My fiance was coming into town and this place was a nice affordable get away that was close to everything in Waikiki.
Definitely staying there again! THANKS AQUA!. I wished we stayed here from the beginning of our stay in Waikiki. Security is amazing, the staff was generous, the rooms were clean, the view of the room was absolutely amazing. The best hotel Ive stayed at. And booked the AQUA ISLANDS COLONY. Called expedia. SO we check-out from that hotel. They didnt even let a friend come up to the room to use a restroom, I would have to pay an extra $30 for that extra head.
We booked another hotel in Waikiki, where we were treated horribly because we were young adults...Blessing in Disguise.
Travelers tip on saving a few bucks
this is a fiar hotel for the price. This hotel could use a makeover its a bit worn down.Good deal for the price
This hotel is a good deal for the price, my room had a kitchenet, restroom with bathtub, dining area.
. PEOPLE SCREAMING, MOTORCYCLES ROARING AND EMERGENCY VEHICLES WAILING UNTIL 4:00 AM. TO GET SOME COMFORT AT NIGHT WE OPENED THE WINDOWS, BUT THE NOISE FROM THE STREET WAS UNBEARABLE. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOM EXCEPT FOR THE BEDROOM WHICH WAS VERY INSUFFICIENT FOR THE REST OF THE SUITE.NEIGHBORS VERY LOUD HOTEL NOT AIR CONDITIONED
WE UPGRADED TO A (1) BEDROOM STUDIO.
. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Oahu. The staff was curtious, rooms were maintained daily, the pool and hot tub were sparkling, and tghe hotel is located within walking distance of anything and everything you would ever need. The only view we hat to walk around the corner to see was Diamond Head." We went expecting a small room, which would have been fine as we were only planning on using the rooms for sleeping - instead, we were treated to a high rise apartment that was immaculate and had not only a city view, but a mountain view as well as an ocean view. This hotel went WAY above our expectations
I have to say that I wasnt sure what to expect from The Aqua Island Colony, but the first words out of the desk clerks mouth set the mood - "We have updated both of your rooms at no charge.
