Good locationThis hotel is in a really good location close to Union Square. It was undergoing construction while we were there which took away from the ambience. The restaurant was fabulous. First night we were there was a bachelorette party next door that was really noisy and we asked to be moved which they did with no hesitation. Would definately stay there again.Rating:5
Lovely despite constructionHotel was going through some rennovations so they had tarps and scaffolding up. Other than that the room was comfortable, especially the bed, and clean. Only stayed 1 night but service at the desk and doorman was a good experience.Rating:4
Good, but not THAT goodIn my opinion, this hotel s not worth the price. its located on an excellent area, but the rooms and the feel of the hotel was oldish. also they were remodeling the exterior which gave it an unfinished look and shouldnt be like that or at least they should let you know.Rating:5
Clean, comfortable, quiet.Very comfortable room with AC and ability to open window. Quiet, but conveniently close to Union Square. Excellent restaurants and fun Fringe Festival within walking distance. Why do smaller boutique hotels have free wireless access but the big chain hotels charge $12.95 per day?
Travelers tip on diningSears Fine Foods is great for breakfast, and we found the Millenium and Greens the best vegetarian restaurants ever!!Rating:4
Excellent HotelStaff was very courteous and food was great.Rating:4
Great LocationThe location is just one block from Union Square, the staff is really great, and we love that the windows open for fresh air in the room. The rooms are nice. Weve stayed here before and will be back.Rating:5
RenovationsEverything was great with this property. However I do think its a good idea to let a person know if renovations are being done. The day we arrived it was extremely noisy with scaffolding and hammering in the elevator area. I do know that its important to continuously upgrade and renovate; as I would want to stay in a hotel that did such. But still a good idea to let people know ahead of time. The remainder of our time we spent very little time in the hotel; so it was no problem. Thanks you.Rating:5
Outstanding! Our first trip to San Francisco was phenomenal including our stay at the JW Marriott. The amenities, staffing, location, and general ambiance of professionalism and attention to guests needs added significantly to a very memorable trip. San Francisco is an incredible place to visit; the JW Marriott just made it all perfect! Thank you and hope to return very soon!Rating:4
Good hotel and great locationLocation was very good and room was very clean. Very comfortable. only a few inconveniences, ice not on floor and have to order room service, and they took 45 minutes for ice, no drawers to speak of in room for you clothes but nice closet.
Travelers tip on local attractionsBuy a muni pass for city and you can ride all transit and not have to look for money.Rating:5
Couldnt be happierThe location was perfect, in the hub of transportation. The concierge was extremely pleasant and most helpful. Everyone bent over backwards to help make the trip a most enjoyable experience.
Travelers tip on saving a few bucksIf youre going to be there for a week, and intend on seeing most of the attractions, I would strongly suggest purchasing the City Pass. You will have paid for your public transportation for the week (except BART) and admission to some really cool attractions.Rating:5
Nice HotelTypical hotel room. Only four stars. Only bad thing was that the shower door did not close. Outside was under construction.
Travelers tip on local attractionsPickup the cable car at the second stop. Dont go to the beginning of or else youll wait in line for at least one hour. The ride is $5 for one stop. Take it all the way to Fishermans Warf.Rating:5
Not impressed with the check inInitially, we booked a room with 2 double beds. They told me they do not have double beds in this hotel. I told them the reserv. was with 2 doubles. They said I will give you a King and a pull out couch. Not good. I asked to speak to a manager and then some way they found 2 double beds. I was not happy about that, but the hotel accom. were excellent. Thank you
Travelers tip on diningnorth beach pizza is excellent for a cheap meal, but parking is limited.Rating:5
ExcellentExcellent location, attentive staff, contemporary and comfortable ambiance! Overall a great experience!
Travelers tip on shoppingEveryone must stop by Karakter a great european store of funky collections on Sutter.Rating:4
Pleasantly SurprisedThe hotel atmosphere was pristine, modern, and trendy, which I did not expect of a JW Marriott. A good mix of business professionals, tourists, and families. I booked one room with double beds for four nights, and found the room to be spacious and comfortable. The best part was the bathroom...all marble tile (even the walls). Staff members were courteous and helpful. Location ideal - centrally located and within walking distance to great shopping and the Financial District.
Travelers tip on saving a few bucksBooked through Expedia with several friends and received a discount. Recommend splitting the hotel room with others to save some money.Rating:5
Great location very close to cable car and shopping too. I love my trip and Ill be coming back soonI love the hotel itself. Great customer service people are always happy when you get in and out of the hotel. Room service was the best and not to mention the house keeper made sure every thing was put in place and clean. But one little thing the bed was a little hard to like maybe if they where medium to firm it would of been good. It was just a little to soft for me. But yes I would tell people about the hotel and when I travel I try to stay at a JW they are the best.
Travelers tip on shoppingYou are very close to shopping especially if you love saks and Neiman MarcusRating:5
Great hotelAwesome bathrooms!
Travelers tip on diningGary Danko for the most amazing meal of your life. Plan to spend a bundle though, but dont let it hold you back from this experience.Rating:3
Good location.......Hotel service not that accomodating.Rating:2
OK at less the a hundred dollarsI am a loyal Marriott customer which is why I picked this hotel. I assumed the JW Marriott would be a premium hotel given that the JW Marriott was suppose to be their premium brand. The staff was indifferent and unhelpful and the room average at best. I would only pick this hotel at an extreme value. Otherwise, pick something elseRating:5
ovae all it was great location and comfort. The staff was very helpful. The bed little uncomfortableGreat....
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayclost to the cable carRating:5
Must see in person to appriciate, words just dont do it justice!Upon our arrival to the hotel we instantly felt pampered. While we checked in, the bellhop unloaded our luggage from the car and had it delivered to the room. Then, the valet parked our car in the hotels safe and secure garage. When we steped into our room, the view took our breath away!! We stayed on the 12th floor and had a corner room. The room was done in very nice colors, a simple contrasting wall in the foyer really set off the room. The only thing that we did not like about the hotel was the resturant, Level III. It was beautiful and the staff were extremly helpful but we are from Louisiana and the food was quite exotic for our taste. I could have eaten something but my husband would have gone hungry. There were many delicious resturants in the area surrounding the hotel so we had no trouble finding an alternative. We will stay again and again at this hotel on our return visits to this fun and exciting city.
Travelers tip on local attractionsMake sure you buy a City Pass at the Visitors Center, which is located only 4 blocks from this hotel. The City Pass cost $64 dollars (only $50 when you buy it with your trip on Expedia)and is worth every penny! You get 5 attractions and unlimted use of the city transportation system including the historic cable cars. P.S. The historic Powell Street Cable Car is only one block from the hotel, make sure you catch a ride on it.Rating:5
Beautiful and comfortableNot much for writing these, but the hotel was absolutely excellent. Door staff was exceptional at getting us a cab even on early Sunday morning. It is extremely well situated. No noise, excellent.
Travelers tip on local attractions2 things - buy the Citipass Muni Pass that lets you ride pretty much any buss, trolley, cable car or light rail train - great way to get around. Second thing, dont go to the terminus to grab the cable car to Fishermans Wharf - you will have to stand in line. You can jump on at pretty much any corner along the route it travels and not wait (much).Rating:5
Wonderful stay in San FranciscoMy mom and I stayed here for Memorial Day weekend. We LOVED the hotel!!! The room was comfortable and inviting. The staff were friendly and attentive. They answered all of our questions. The location was perfect, especially if you love to shop.
Travelers tip on diningGo to Sears Restaurant for breakfast. It is 2 blocks away on Powell St. Go early to beat the lines.Rating:5
City view was not that great, but room was outstanding.Nice place to stayRating:5
