it would have been a lot more fun and relaxing if we had just put some stinking sun block on!... We still had fun but. if you burn like we did... The rest of your week will be very difficult for you and anyone else you’re with. The worst thing you want to do is go out into the ocean your first day and not wear sunscreen. Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay WEAR SUNSCREEN IF YOU BURN. There are roosters everywhere which can be annoying, but I personally thought they were so cute and added to the uniqueness of Hawaii and this resort. There was this cool koi fish pond and some other wildlife just right there in the middle of the resort, its pretty neat. It’s right next to the ocean, super easy access to it. The pool was really cool and warm. The view was amazing it was so pretty.Mostly impressed We loved most of it but we didn’t expect the price of the food/restaurants on the actual resort to be so expensive when the food wasn’t really even that great.

. Great location, close to the airport and central to the island.Great honeymoon destination Nice hotel.

. Travelers tip on saving a few bucks Carry some ready to eat food to save money. this hotel is a must stay.. if you are looking to go to Kauai. The room decor, service and the hotel staff was excellent. We had the partial ocean view and the complete pool view.Great Vacation Stay We loved the hotel.

. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool is amazing. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained.Great Hotel This hotel is the best! We stayed here for our honeymoon and we were extremely impressed.

. Travelers tip on nightlife If your looking for nightlife, it’s not on this island. I have been telling everyone back home if they get a chance to go to Kauai, they need to stay at the Marriott Beach Club in Lihue. The staff very friendly beautiful grounds well kept and very clean. Can’t wait to go back I have to say that is this a first class hotel a real Gem.

. We would recomment it highly. We went on Captain Andy’s Sunset Cruise along the Napali Coast and it was beautiful. The farthest beach was an hour north and we got to Poipu Beach in about 20 minutes. Travelers tip on recreational activities The location of this hotel is great for traveling north or south to explore the many beaches available on Kauai. I would like to return to see it after their renovation is completed. The staff were very nice and accomodating. We had a great view of the pool and the ocean. They did upgrade us to a pool view room that was newly renovated and it was very comfortable. We unfortunately were there during their renovation and so there was jackhammering at the pool area for two of the six days we were there and one of the restaurants was closed.Very beautiful and comfortable This hotel has beautiful grounds and an amazing pool area.

. The crew with the Blue Dolphin were wonderful and the luau-style dinner that they provide was excellent. Also, I would definitely recommend taking the Blue Dolphin Na Pali coast tour (unless you are prone to sea sickness). It was much better than some of the others that just zipline in an open field. Overall, this is a great place to stay on Kauai! Travelers tip on recreational activities We really enjoyed the Outfitters ziplining tour. We ate at Dukes 3 times during our stay and found the food to be good each time. Also, there were several good restaurants in walking distance. We both felt that we made the perfect choice in deciding on the Kauai Marriott. We really enjoyed our stay here and would love to return. The room was nice and the bed was really comfortable. They were renovating the pool area when we were there, but it was not really a problem (they worked in the morning and stayed out of the way of the resort guests). The grounds were beautifully kept. We could see not only the gardens of the resort, but also the beach and mountains surrounding the resort. We stayed in a garden view room and the view was beautiful.Would love to go back! My husband and I went to the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club for our honeymoon.

. It huge and beautiful!! Great place to stay while working on your tan.Gorgeous Pool The pool is amazing.

. Costco is in location as well. If you take Rice Street to the left out of the resort and go for a few miles up the hill there is a mall and a bakery in the back next to the grocery store. Kauai Pasta is fresh pasta and a great price. I don’t think we ever paid more than $60 w/ drinks at any of the Kauai restauraunts. The food was very good and reasonable. Travelers tip on dining We did love Dukes restauraunt and went back a few times. Doesn’t look like the project will be done anytime soon. I felt bad for the guests that were there all week. Luckily we were staying only one night. Our room was vibrating and the noise was awfull. Went back to our room and they were rennovating upstairs. Jack hammers, drilling and smashing all over the place. Woke up Monday early and laid on the beach until 9am, at which time construction started.Rennovations - too much noise We arrived on a Sunday and the hotel was peaceful.

. Overall, we were not happy with the service and given problems that I have had with Marriott in the past I will not be returning to a Marriott any time soon. The hotel refused to remedy this even though we offered to pay for a room upgrade. We did not get a lot of sleep in spite of requests to keep the noise down and calls to hotel security. The other room had several unsupervised children who were extremely noisy. However, this was an adjoining room. We were given a second room very quickly. Unfortunately, the room we were given had not been cleaned properly.Very Disappointed My family and I were really looking forward to our stay here.

. Also, off season may mean less kids. Travelers tip Before you book here (the beach and pools seemed nice) make sure renovations are complete. We had to stay one night and then we left. But, the rooms were not updated, the hotel was noisy, kids were unsupervised in the pool area (spitting, jumping in) and the noise was ridiculous considering you were in a place that was supposed to be so relaxing.Kauai Marriott To be fair, this hotel was undergoing a lot of repairs and maintenance.

.Marriot Beach resort This hotel had everything including roosters that crowed every morning at 5;00 am to wake you up.

Excellent! Excellent!.

. We had our 2 year old daughter with us and found the hotel to be very family friendly and welcoming.Good ’all rounder’ We had a great week at this hotel, the pool and facilities were all fantastic.

Travelers tip Take a helicopter tour. The garden rooms are ok. The spa is good, but expensive. The hotel is mainly catered for couples/families.Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club The pool area is great.

. May also want to make a few trips to the local ABC store to stock up on water and snacks. Travelers tip on saving a few bucks Do yourself a favor- if you’re going to eat breakfast everyday at the hotel’s "Kukui" restaurant you’re better off getting a couple of side orders rather than one of their overpriced omelets. It’s subpar, to say the least. if you like sushi- avoid the bar above the pool area at all costs... Oh, and one more thing. Certainly not the worst place we’ve ever stayed but on the flip side not the best either. And even though we didn’t go to Kauai to watch TV, it would be nice if they’d replace that antique sitting in the entertainment unit with something that doesn’t look like it came straight out of the 70’s. The balcony is also starting to look very weathered and dated. We noticed several cracks on the wall and paint was peeling from the bathroom door. A few coats of paint and some spackle here and there wouldn’t hurt. The hotel grounds are still very attractive and overall it is certainly an adequate place to stay, but the building and the rooms are in need of a renovation. Not bad, but needs some upgrades This was our 2nd time staying at the Kauai Marriott, and unfortunately, just like the island itself, it isn’t quite as good as it used to be.

Highly recommend. Also Kauai pasta is delicious as is Fish express. Hotel food is ridiculously expensive and only average quality. Travelers tip on saving a few bucks Stock up on groceries at the local walmart. The grounds at the marriott are breathtaking and the beach is great for an easy day of relaxing although there is so much to do on kauai I say get out and play. absolutely amazing. On the expensive side but GREAT hotel and GREAT location!! We loved our trip to Kauai and the Marriott put us right in the middle of the island so it was easy to take seperate day trips to the north and south shores.

. The bonus was being able to watch the various cruise ships come and go! Travelers tip on shopping Be sure and check in with the concierge to find out where the non tourist shopping is. All we wanted was some R&R, and this was the perfect spot for just that.Kauai’s best hotel! This was our first real vacation in quite a while, and we felt very pampered.

. We saw whales and dolphins there along with beautiful scenery. Watch out for police speed traps in the area in zones of 25 MPH! Travelers tip on recreational activities Make a trip to the national wildlife preserve at the lighthouse on the east side of the island. Thought that it was funny that there were no tissues in the room. Experienced absolutely NO airport noise. Location is very convenient. Nice shops. The grounds were beautiful.Beautiful resort.

. Also, check out the Beach Hut, which is a very short walk from the hotel, for a great burger at a reasonable price. Travelers tip on dining The Ahi Tuna at Duke’s Canoe Club is amazing. The resort offers several great things to do on site or around Lihue, but I would say the resort’s location on the island is its greatest asset.Kauai was awesome! The Kauai Marriott Resort is conveniently located halfway between the north shore and Waimea Canyon.

amazing way to see this island and all it’s beauty!... I would definitely recommend it. We shelled out a lot of money for a tour of the island by helicopter. The hike can be slippery and difficult, but well worth it. Fairly easy kayak trip and amazing hike into the forest to see some beautiful falls. Travelers tip on recreational activities We loved the kayak trip on the Wailua River to the falls. If (or WHEN) we go back, we will definitely stay here again. We loved a restaurant off the beach called Dukes. Prices are always high in Hawaii for food, but it was nice to have restaurants/grill right on site - very convenient. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are super comfortable. Very safe and not too crowded at all. We traveled with four kids (ages 9 - 15) and the beach was perfect for our needs. It’s also an excellent central location for touring the island. No complaints! Beautiful location, excellent spot for kids, amazing pools, incredible service the whole time.Loved this hotel We spent 7 nights at this hotel and loved it.

. Travelers tip on dining There are some great restaurants close by (driving distance) that are better priced and better tasting than the resort restaurants. Also, the room would feel humid at times no matter how much we adjusted the thermostat. The interior of the rooms and halls could use some upgrading. From the resort we were able to explore north and west of the island. It is conveniently located by the airport and central to the whole island. Mainly just to sleep and get ready. We didn’t spend much time at the resort during our vacation. The rooms were clean and our ocean view room had an amazing view. Everyone was very friendly and the environment was relaxing.Honeymoon Vacation The service was excellent.

. Quite good considering I don’t like the Duke’s here in Waikiki. Travelers tip on shopping Can walk to ABC store and get cheaper snacks for poolside noshing ate at Duke’s bar area twice. Beds not the greatest of comfort, but I slept fine anyway. We even found plenty of shopping when we wanted a break from the sun. The pool was what we went for and we were not disappointed. The room was nice and although next to elevator i never heard the dings. The staff were so Aloha. The grounds sealed the deal when I arrived. The shuttle and price sold me. The island has a lot more to explore, but wanted to be pampered and just lay by the pool.Wonderful Visist Live in O’ahua and went away for a few days, did not want to drive or sightsee.

. What’s next having to bring your own toilet paper? Let’s hope that someone from Marriott gets the message. However, the long term blemish on Marriott’s brand should also be considered. Can you believe that? When paying premium prices for a room don’t you think that they could throw in a box of Kleenex? Obviously some lower level bureaucrat is making his quarterly numbers. Our only complaint was that in order to cut costs Marriott is no longer providing Kleenex in the rooms. The restaurants were all very good. The grounds are beautiful and our room view was wonderful.Fine Resort But Where’s the Kleenex? While this is an older hotel the Marriott has done a good job of keeping it in repair.

. Beautiful grounds and swimming pool. Service was friendly. No Kleenex available in room during our entire stay.Service good air conditioning not Air conditioning did not function properly.
