. The staff at the front desk was snooty and the parking was expensive. There are no "freebies" such as continental breakfast, fridge/micro in room, etc.Snooty I thought the hotel was nice and well maintained.



but please, the bellman are not suitable as doubling as concierge!...Most acceptable excellent desk staff.



.Marriott Madness I was EXTREMELY satisfied with my hotel stay.



. There were 4 of us so we had to use an inflatable mattress of our own. When wen arrived, we were informed they were out of doubles and gave us a king with a rollaway. I ordered a double with 2 double beds. Not good.Changed our room from double to king with 4 of us.



What a rip!.What, do wireless? Only laptop hookup in room was $13/day.



. Would definitely recommend valet service, it simplified things. The hotel restaurant has excellent nachos! All the service people were very nice. The construction ceased but we couldn’t get back to sleep. We did call down to the desk and reported it.Only 1 problem Unfortunately, there was construction going on while we were there and it woke us up in the morning.

. I would recommend this hotel if you want to be in the downtown area. The Marriott also has a newly remodeled restaurant and lounge which proved to be very adequate for a late evening snack and drink. There are several good restaurant choices in the nearby Court Avenue area. Being on the skywalk allows you to literally walk anywhere in the downtown area without going outside. The rooms are fine--clean and neat.Give it a try! The Marriott in downtown Des Moines always proves to be a nice play to stay.

. The general public knows it really costs nothing for the hotel to have internet after the initial hookup, so why insult our intelligence. It reflects poorly on a nice hotel when the hotel penny pinches guests for internet access. Also make internet free for guests. There are a lot of people at conferences that need internet with printers.Great location with personel to match Hotel could have had 2 computers hooked up downstairs for internet and printing privledges instead of just 1.



. Can’t beat the location if you need to be downtown. Hotel is over 25 years old but much has been refurbished and the beds were very comfortable.Comfortable Hotel in the middle of the Des Moines Full service hotel with helpful staff and good service.

. I had dinner in the restaraunt and the waiter was almost non-existent and appeared exasperated with questions. The hotel is beautiful and the room perfect but the check-in clerk was so border line on friendly that I was not impressed.The Hotel is beautiful but service could use some enthusiasm.



. There was a childrens beauty pagent going on and kids were playing in the elevators and inundated the pool and excercies facilities. We required several trips to the front desk and one escort. But it was on the concierge floor and our key did not function properly in the elevator. It was lovely. Had to wait for our room. Confusing elevator system.Awkward parking facilities.



Great stay for everyone This was a very nice hotel! the vallet parking was kind of expensive but overall it was a great expierience.



. Travelers tip on nightlife Three blocks from Court Street which is the place to be from 5pm til closing. Highly recommend it. Excellent accommodations.Great location, great place Stayed one night.
