    Not impressed at all

The Marriott in downtown Kansas City has to be the obsolute noisiest hotel in America. The walls must be made of rice paper.

    Travelers tip on shopping

The Plaza shopping district is absolutely wonderful. Dont miss the fountains.

    Great Downtown location

Would definitely stay here again... but probably not the same weekend as a National Cheerleading competition. Very easy to find. Parking a little tough. Can’t park in building parking with SUV (6ft clearance) but there is public parking that Marriot validates under the plaza across the street from the hotel. If that’s full there is a $5/day public parking area on the back side of the hotel.

    Travelers tip on local attractions

4 blocks from the newly developed Power & Light district in DT KC. New Sprint Center as well as the College Basketball Experience is adjacent to the P&L District. 30 minutes from KC Speedway, 15 minutes from Country Club Plaza shopping district. Across the street from Memorial Coliseum and KC Convention Center.

Always happy to return to the Marriott

I found our stay to be very enjoyable. I found the staff (front desk, room service, maid service, maintenance and including the restaurant staff) to be very accommodating, courteous, and professional. I have always been very pleased with my stay at the Marriott. I also found the business center very useful, because I was able to print our boarding passes and make any necessary changes prior to arriving at the airport. My son and I flew in for the weekend to attend a concert at the Sprint Center. The Marriott is located only six blocks away from the center, which was very convenient since we did not rent a car. I only wished that there was a shopping center or mall a little closer to the hotel.

    Would return. Recommend to others

Nice hotel. Older hotel with additional rooms across the street. Decorated well. Close to WWI museum and Convention Center. Near I 70.

    Travelers tip on dining

Lilly’s was good. Breakfast buffet was excellent; lots of fresh fruit and variety of items available.

    Disappointed

Altho the beds were extremely comfortable and the hotel is within walking distance of the Sprint center, I was very disappointed in our experience here, considering what we paid. The phones in our room didn’t work, we had no wash clothes, there was no ice in the vendor area on our floor. We went to Lilly’s restaurant after the show at the Sprint center, and altho the hostess seated us, we soon realized that it was very near to closing time, as we were treated quite disrespectfully by the wait staff. If we had it to do over, we would have gotten up and left. As it was, we asked that our order be packaged to take to our room. That too seems like we were asking too much.

Check to make sure everything works and you have all necessary items in your room as soon as you check in, and don’t go to Lilly’s if it’s close to closing time.

    Kansas City

The atmosphere was pleasant and the service friendly. Although I could tell the room had been cleaned, I saw a dark stain which could have been blood/coffee on a chair. The beds were extemely comfortable and the tea/coffee choice was amazing.

    Very enjoyable and easily accessible.

The hotel stay was great. If there were any complaints to be made, it would be about the parking. The weather was bad and it sure would have been nice to park in that garage we paid for. It was full of cars of non-guests.

    Nice stay

    Well located, great, updated rooms

    Bad room was my fault

I was in a room next to the elevators, but I was late and didn’t have time to request a better room. I will say the rooms near the elevators in this hotel are VERY noisy, let alone the guest traffic.

    Great hotel

Very comfortable and clean. The restaurant Lily (in the lobby) was excellent! The only drawback is that it is downtown and there was NOTHING open on the weekend. Had to drive 10+ minutes to find something to eat Saturday morning. And parking is expensive ($13/day or $15/day for valet) compared to other nearby hotels.
