With a three minute walk to town, the beach/boardwalk, you can’t go wrong!. nower decor and an awesome breakfast selection (with real waffles). A friendly, knowlegable staff.Convenient clean economical This hotel was a good choice with all the conveniences of home.

. The pool and the continental breakfast were nice bonuses, too.Excellent Location & Dog Friendly We didn’t expect a lot from a place so close to the Boardwalk, so we were pleasantly surprised.

. Otherwise, a good experience on this low-budget vacation. For some reason it seemed like there wasn’t enough parking for all the guests; the lot was packed the second night and we struggled to squeeze our small car into one of the last remaining spots. We didn’t spend much time at the motel, but it was clean enough, and well-managed and comfortable - good value for the money. There’s a bike rental place across the street if you prefer to bike.A good experience Great location for walking to the wharf, the boardwalk, or the the local farmer’s market and shops and restaurants along Pacific.

It is worth the money spent and it is close to everything!!. Staff was very friendly. Pool is nice with two hot tubs. You can save on having to buy sodas and waters all day long in the heat :)It is a good deal and I really liked the location. The room is a bit run down but there is a microwave, and frig in the room which is nice especially when traveling with kids. The parking lot is very small. You park your car and can walk downtown, wharf and the boardwalk. The location is perfect close to everything. A variety of things and you get to make your own waffle. They do have a great breakfast in the morning. The hotel is run down a bit.Good for the money.

. Would not recommend. in the morning.m. Front desk did not answer door at 7:00 a. It was very difficult to get in and out of the parking lot.Hard to find, hard to park This hotel was loud and rundown.

.Acceptable Clean and inexpensive, comparable.

Travelers tip on local attractions The location of the inn was very good two blocks from down town and two blocks from the beach. We will try the hotel next door next time. Friday night the people upstairs must of had a jacuzzi tube and ran it until about 12:30am, it vibrated our whole room. The gentle at the counter was having a hard time understanding that we wanted two more towels. We only had 2 towels and had to ask for more. The beds were ok. There was only one chair. When we got into our room the floors had sticky stains on them. The girl at the counter was pleasant. Will find another place to stay next time When we arrived the inn looked ok.

. Will never stay there again. They say they are "dog friendly" with dedicated rooms, and even then, I wouldn’t let me dogs stay there. The breakfast "buffet" to say the least, was a room towards the back of the hotel, with old fruit, cold coffee and not very welcoming.Would not recommend this hotel While this is close to the Santa Cruz Beach, I woke up with bed bites throughout my back, the room and hotel was not very clean and because of bed bugs, could not sleep.

. Travelers tip on local attractions This hotel is only a few blocks from the Santa Cruz warf and also from the Boardwalk. I will definately stay there again when I go back next year. They have one of the best continental breakfast that I have ever had at a hotel.Going back next year The people were friendly and helpful.

. Check out the sea lions that sleep on the wharf at night. Walking distant to beach and plenty of eating on the boardwalk and wharf.Fine Stay Good rooms, good continental breakfast.

. Do yourself a favor and skip this one if you can find something comparable. By comparison Holiday Inn Express or Comfort Inn chains are much better. Must be better hotels in same price range nearby.Run Down Condition Unimpressive Failed to ignore previous reviews indicating a shabby condition.

..... its pretty nice especially for the price... its not dirty nor scummy... if you are going to go and not have a 5 star hotel it rocks. nice pool and hot tub.OP lodge SC visit it was kewl very close walk to the beach.

. Travelers tip on local attractions Close to the wharf, beach, and boardwalk. Parking is tight during the weekends. Room was clean and functional. Good basic hotel for staying close to the wharf, beach, and boardwalk.Good basic hotel for staying close to the wharf, beach, and boardwalk.

Other than that good value for the price and close to the wharf and boardwalk.Good Basic Room Very basic - I stayed in the hot tub room #309 it is an old spa tub but there is room for 2.

. Very crowded (with students) on Saturday evening, though.--all sorts of ethnicities. Travelers tip on dining There are lots of restaurants on Pacific Ave. No breakfast provided, though; that would be a great convenience. The room was comfortable and quiet. You can walk everywhere (though there is plenty of public parking).) and near the wharf and amusement park.Great location, pleasant room This hotel is right at the foot of the big shopping street (Pacific Ave.

. It would be a good choice. Overall, I would recommend the hotel. Fortunately, the guest in the second night is very quiet. It really bothers me, since poeple in the other room stay late and keep the TV on. There is a door b/w two rooms, therefore, I can clearly hear the sound from the other room across the door. I was in a minor problem in my first night stay.A good choice for the price in Santa Cruz beach area the overall quality of this hotel is beyond my expectation of a two star hotel.

. Rooms are reasonably quiet, but expect some noise from adjoining rooms. Our room was right next to one of the gates to the pool -- noisy, but not tragically so. Smallish pool and two small hot tubs, better than none and good for kids. No attendent -- if something runs out, call the front desk and they’ll replenish it, a system that worked OK. Continental breakfast offered two kinds of cereal with one kind of milk, waffles, toast, yogurt, danish, coffee and juice from machines, bananas. Wireless internet worked well, occasionally quite speedy. No desk in our room (two queen beds). Small towels typical of beach motels. Noisy air conditioner worked very well. Everything is the style of a motel, which wasn’t quite what I’d expected. Room was clean to the point of smelling of bleach sometimes. Location near the wharf is the main feature here. The Sea and Sand Inn is a better choice, but is more likely to be sold out.Decent: Nothing special, nothing awful Purely functional motel -- decent choice if you get a good rate.

. Also, the price was right. We plan on going back and staying at the Ocean Pacific Lodge soon. It is in a fantastic area.Great location This Hotel is just 2 short blocks from the ocean and Santa Cruz Beach Broadwalk.

. If you are only looking to spend a night or two it is perfect and close to the warf in Santa Cruz. The rooms have always been clean and as nice as can be expected for the money being spent.Ocean Pacific Lodge I have stayed at the Ocean Pacific Lodge twice now and each time my visit has been very pleasent.

5 out of 5 Good family room, you can lock the kiddies in the living room area and have the master suite to yourselves :). 4. All in all I was satisfied with the rate - it was worth it. Sorry if messed up your space... I took up a space and a half most of the time. Parking lot is small, and we were driving a Dodge 1500 truck. It worked fine most of the time but when it didn’t, it was frustrating. The wifi was glitchy. They also had fruit, cereal, pastries, coffee, chocolate milk, yogurt, flavored creamer. They had a make-your-own waffle deal that was fun. The breakfast was better than what I have seen at other hotels. Getting to the hotel is very tricky, take a mapquest or GPS Nav if you don’t know the Santa Cruz area. GREAT LOCATION. The hotel is a block and a half away from the Boardwalk and the Wharf and East cliff Blvd and the Downtown area. Water was nice and hot and relaxing. You could put 4 people in that thing! But were not into that. This jacuzzi was stinkin huge, like 8 foot by 5 foot. The bathroom was HUGE! I have stayed at "jacuzzi" suites before and all they were was a glorifed bathtub. The Bedroom was roomy enough, it also had a TV and a dresser, 2 Night Stands. Then there was a separate room with a door closure that lead into the bedroom. It had a little "living room" with a leather 3 seater couch with coffee table, TV, Mini Fridge, Microwave, and a sink. The suite was nice. Not a big problem though. It stunk we had to walk 3 flights of stairs, there was an elevator, but our room wasn’t close to it.Jacuzzi Suite - AWESOME ! We got the jacuzzi suite - Rm 312.

. The pool is pretty decent. It is close to the boardwalk and the pier and that is the main advantage to staying here. The owners of this hotel are clearly trying to provide a nice hotel experience but they are limited by the small room size and an aging infrastructure.Ok for the price The staff are really nice and helpful.

One small item to beware of is that the parking lot is really small - so get the prime spots and stay there!. The staff was great and the amount you spend on this stay matches the expectations of the room. It is a short walk to the pier, beach, and the boardwalk, and also a short walk into the shops on pacific.Ideal Location and Affordable We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go.

. Front desk personnel friendly and helpful, although small criticism: dress more professionally (I know, I know - it’s CA!). We did not partake of the continental breakfast, so no opinion there. Older-style motel that remains well-maintained and suited our purposes perfectly.Convenient and Clean Easy walking distance to Santa Cruz Wharf and Boardwalk.

. Parking was available near room entrance and there was easy access to main roads. The continental breakfast was adequate. The hotel room was comfortable and spacious, however not the best for business travelers if wanting peace and quiet.Great Location! Short walk to the Warf, Boardwalk, Beach, and lots of entertainment and dining.
