. The hotel restaurant, The Rib Room was very good, even by New Orleans standards. View and pool on the rooftop a big plus. the hotel has an excellent restaurant but is very close to other fine and beaudiful places. next time we would love to have a balcony. the roof top pool and bar was georgeous. we love the demenor of the employees.Very elegant

. It is the best way to see the French Quarter. Bring comfortable shoes for walking. We could not eat at Stellas because we had shorts and sandals on. Pierre Masperos across from hotel has awesome omelets and eggs benedict!

If you plan on dining in some of the restaurants make sure you bring business casual. Stanleys good place for burger or club sandwich. after dark is not our thing. Bourbon St.m. and quiet drinks in the p.m. Coffee in the a. We asked for a courtyard room and loved it. Glad I read the reviews before I came down. My husband and I found plenty to do and walked our feet off. Tour the WW2 museum if you can, it is worthwhile. The swamp tour was overpriced, but we still had a good time. I could not enjoy the pool to swim or just read because of the rowdy behavior there. I just would recommend that if you are not into an alternative lifestyle you do not book your room during Southern Decadence. Awesome staff, especially Leroy and Don.Walk everywhere in New Orleans if you can!

Travelers tip on recreational activities
The airboat swamp tour was a bit expensive but worth it. But if that isnt an issue for you then I highly recomend this hotel. This reason alone is why I wouldnt stay here again. My only complaint is that our bed was very very hard which may not bother some but to me it was very uncomphortable and I didnt sleep well the entire trip. We booked a room here mainly for the roof top pool and where not disapointed as it is perfect for the hot afternoons and overlooks the city and river. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, has a very attentive staff and is in a great location.Nice ambience, hard beds

. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and it is in a great location, close to everything in the French Quarter. The pool onthe roof was a lifesaver in the New Orleans heat.Great Trip
We had a very enjoyable experience at this hotel.
. I also found that some shopkeepers didnt mind lowering their prices to make a sale. They had the best price and gave more for the money. If you plan to take pralines home, I bought mine at Walgreens.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay
Wear comfortable shoes because you will definitely cover a lot of territory as the hotel is located near all the hot spots you will want to visit. This was not my first trip to New Orleans, but I will definitely stay here again. It was within walking distance of restaurants, shops and entertainment. Towels were provided at the pool. I especially liked the atmosphere of the rooftop pool that included a bar, palm trees, luscious plants and a great view. A robe was provided in the room. I loved the decor of the hotel and the room was nice and spacious.
The rate was great...I was impressed.

definitely upgrade the basic "run of the house" room. A nice benefit for a small additional charge. Based upon an Expedia review, we spent the extra money for a room upgrade, and were pleased with the size of the room & the balcony. Kudos to "Marty". The lobby & staff were superb: friendly & efficient.Very Nice!
The Omni has always intrigued us, and we vowed that we would stay there on one of our NOLA trips.

We are very excited about the changes and hope you will consider returning to the Omni Royal Orleans to experience them first hand. Also, we will combine 30 of our smallest rooms and create 15 larger, luxury rooms. This will significantly reduce any unwanted noise from another guest next door. As part of the hotels upcoming renovation, connecting rooms will be eliminated, except for suites. Oh yeah, and I had one of the extra large deluxe rooms!

We are saddened to read of your recent experience at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel in regards to noise level and small accommodations. Im not a light sleeper, and I dont usually complain about hotels, but this place just wasnt conducive to sleep, and thats pretty much what I was paying for. Then I woke up at the crack of dawn when the hotel staff was wheeling breakfast carts and putting out the papers and people were having their morning showers. So, it was bright and loud, but I finally fell asleep. I didn;t blame him for watching TV, so much as I blame the hotel for trying to pack us in like sardines. These rooms are very small, and the walls are very thin. Thing is, though, I knew it wasnt an unreasonable volume, so much as his television being eight feet from my head. And the neighbor was watching television until 2am, which meant I had to listen to his shows most of the night. Now, you might be thinking Im just super sensitive, but no, the room was actually being lit by the spaces under the doors. Turning off the lights at night, these gaps lit up the room, so I had to roll towels under the doors to keep out the light. There was a two inch gap under the door leading to the hallway and a similar gap under the door leading to the next room.Small room, paper thin walls
Its a fancy hotel, no doubt, but the rooms are small and poorly designed.

Travelers tip on local attractions
we took the swamp tour, the city tour, and the plantation tour and enjoyed all of them. a rental car is not necessary.
when going to the french quarter, bring walking shoes.Best hotel yet, would definitely recommend and go back.

First the room was cleaned only once tv didnt work untill i got a engineer to repair seconed the last day the water for the rooms was shut off no clean towels i had to take a shower at the pool to get ready for the plane called three time untill thy told me there was a shower at the pool ordered room sevice it took over a hour pool bar closed at 8pm on the weekend

Please know that construction of the five model rooms has been completed, full renovation should not begin again until the late Fall and all guest room renovations will be complete by the Summer of 2010. It is our desire that every guest at the Omni Royal Orleans has an ideal experience and we regret that we failed to deliver that to you. Unfortunately, with all rooms sold, that was not an option during your recent stay with us. If we had had the inventory to move you, we would have gladly done so. Please know that, were it not for our having a full house, you would not have been placed in the rooms near our five model rooms during their renovation.

We are saddened to read of your recent experience at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel. I would stay at this hotel again due to its location, cleanliness and amenities, but am quite upset that the front desk did not move us to a different room. The next morning, construction was in fact being done despite what we were told by the front desk. They told me that the construction would not be going on the next morning so we didnt move. I called the front desk to see if we could be moved. The construction noise woke us up early on the first day.Construction
Our room was right across the hall from several rooms that were being remodeled.

Cant miss dining locations: Brennens (for breakfast) Court of Two Sisters (for dinner) Gumbo Shop (lunch or dinner) Cafe Du Monde (open 24/7. Youll get a great nights sleep, feel secure, and wake up ready to take on another day in the French Quarter. Because the hotel is near some of the best restaurants in the French Quarter, the evening noise is minimal. And 10 minutes later, they tucked a handwritten voucher under our door for $20 worth of free drinks at any of their hotel bars. But they greeted us with an upgraded room. We were a bit frustrated at going back to the registration desk to get another room. The hotel is clean, the air is fresh (and cool in the summer), and the hotel staff is outstanding! For example, when we checked in the room on our first day, the room inspector noticed a cracked glass table top.Perfect location; Perfect Hotel
This hotel is located in a perfect location, immediately surrounded by the best restaurants in the French Quarter, yet a very short walk to the Convention Center area.

This is something that was not mentioned when I checked in but luckily I was aware of this in advance. It cost $30 per day to park at the hotel.

Be prepared to pay for parking. I will definitely stay here again. The hotel was close to shops and restaurants. The hotel interior was magnificent. The bellman and very efficient. The staff was so freiendly and professional.Cant wait to stay here again

Nightlife (Bourbon Street) is just one block away from the Omni Royal. Youll love the Omni Royal. The hotel has a cool roof top bar and pool area with awesome views of the city. The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive prior to and during my stay. The rooms are nice and cozy. My only complaint (minor) is I could hear the antics of my drunk, loud, immature neighbors during the night. Staff were very helpful and courteous.Wonderful Location

We apologize for the inconvenience that you experienced due to the construction associated with our renovation. There was also zero attempt to comp us for the inconvenience. I have always been impressed by this hotel -- but this was totally unacceptable. this didnt help us, and is not what i would expect from a four star hotel. the management said it was unavoidable as they are remodeling. the phone also didnt work to report the problem.Not impressed on this visit
one hour before a meeting we found we had no water -- for showers, toilets, shaving etc.

We are delighted you enjoyed your visit with us and hope to welcome you back again soon. We didnt get a chance to visit the in house restaurant, but are planning a trip back next year we enjoyed it so much! This was a fantastic hotel at a very good price. The rooftop pool and observation deck looked newly renovated as well and was beautiful and relaxing with a nice breeze. The lobby is very classy and the concierge was helpful in booking our tours. The standard room was a pretty small (space is at a premium in the city), but newly renovated, beautifully decorated and clean. Its in the center of everything so we walked everywhere and didnt need to rent a car and avoided cabs. so you can get to the fun but get away from the noise and grit.Perfect Location

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel! We must admit, the Royal Garden Terrace is a beautiful place to have your morning coffee and wake up. Location was great - right in the middle of everything, but still quiet. We asked for a room off the courtyard and we took our coffee out there every morning. Roof top pool was great, good work out area, very clean.Very nice Hotel
