Reviews

. Great food at the Irish pub across the street. Felt a bit deserted as it appeared there were few guests. Beautiful stained glass ceiling. Good value for the price.Cool old train station Very nice place.

. All of these places were a very short drive from the hotel. We didn’t get to see the Trolley Museum nor to visit the Steam Town Mall. We should have left more time for the Train Museum. Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay We visited the Coal Mine Tour and Museum and the Steam Town Train Museum. We would highly recommend this hotel. All of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the train station and conversion to the hotel. Great food and drink. We also visited the Wine Bar and had dinner at th Trax bar. We had the buffet breakfast two days and everything was presented nicely and was delicious. The restaurants were convenient and the food was excellent. We had never had one of those beds and it was very easy to operate and gave us a great nights sleep. The room was very large and the Sleep number bed was a plus. The renovations from a train station to a 1st class hotel were great.Great Hotel The Radison Lackawanna Hotel in Scranton, PA was very comfortable and a very good value.

. Sleep number bed was phenomenal.A+ Great historic hotel.

. Would never stay ther again and not recommend it.Worst night sleep ever!!!!!!! The beds there are the worst and the room was not very clean (not worth the price that you pay for a well established hotel) Though the interior is noce that is about all.

The only thing that makes not recommend this hotel is it is VERY EXPENSIVE!!. The one thing I could not believe was the fact that we had to pay the cover for the bar that was inside the hotel even though we were guests at the hotel! Overall it was an ok room. The service was good. The room was not that big and nothing special to write home about. This could have been due to the demand on this night or for the "luxury" of the room. The room was very expensive. I could actually watch the parade from my room and it was within walking distance to all the local attractions. It was an excellent location for the parade.A good location but too expensive I stayed at this hotel for the famed St Patrick’s Day Parade in Scranton.

. Sad, because the building and its original renovation are still spectacular. The Sleep Number bed wasn’t working properly, and other furniture and workout equipment had seen better days. The railroad station/hotel conversion is awkward in spots, as we had to stand on our tiptoes to look out the windows in our room and there was a dance floor of empty space between our bed and the TV cabinet. The service was friendly but unprofessional; we were given a room that hadn’t been cleaned and then given a key that didn’t work (up and down five stories with luggage twice).Shoddily Run Grand Hotel Picture the Ritz Carlton taken over by the Days Inn.

. Overall a good hotel for business travelers. The rooms tended to be a little darker than I would like and the high ceilings with few pictures made the room feel bare. My only complaint is that the rooms lack a certain aesthetic warmth.Beautiful hotel but spartan rooms The hotel is in excellent condition and the staff and surroundings are all excellent.

Was nice hotel would stay again.

. My only complaint is that the bed was uncomfortable to sleep on - the hotel has sleep number beds, but I woke up with a backache - it may be personal, but I just couldn’t get comfortable. The hotel was only a short walk from the Scranton Cultural Center where the even I was attending was being held.Beautiful Building, but uncomfortable beds I was impressed with the building - it was beautiful! The facility was clean, the attendants were friendly, and the room was large and very nice.

. I will never go back to this hotel. Got up at 5am just to check out of hotel as soon as possible. Very unhappy.A two star hotel at best.

. Walk from hotel to downtown center. Why Stay Anywhere Else? Probably the best place in town to stay.

. Travelers tip on local attractions Steamtown, although hard to find, is well worth the visit. No complaint’s, everything was great. When in Scranton Area, Gotta Stay Here! The lobby alone is worth the price.

. I felt pampered. The food was delicious and the service was first rate. Travelers tip on dining Hotel dining was excellent.Classy but not pretentious Really enjoyed my stay, would definitely go back.

. I would not rush back to this hotel but, then again, I would not rush back to Scranton, PA where the hotel is located and where I went for business. did not work without assistance of the hotel staff who were borderline cheerful. Simple things like TV remote control, wifi internet logon, etc. I was disappointed with this hotel.Very underwhelming.

. Travelers tip on local attractions Sreamtown is worth a visit, but at night don’t miss the teriffic "Electric City" sign. For a city of the size of Scranton, the Raddison Lacawanna Station far exceeds the cookie cutter sameness that travelers have come to expect. The acomodations are excellent with a most accomodating staff. The builders managed to enhance the historic building by fitting inside of old structure a first rate modern hotel.Best place in town The restoration of Scranton’s historic Lackawana railroad station is first class.

... Travelers tip for business travelers Use their shuttle service it saves the traffic tension.. I really liked it and I’ll be back next month. Called me by first name, inquired my business day, very responsive to my needs, and even when I lost something they helped me find it right away. THe staff was well informed and they really tried to personalize their service features.I’ll Be Back! I really enjoyed my stay here.

. Travelers tip for business travelers Always check operation of all units/accessories before leaving your room for a late night out..a room switch would have been possible... Upon checkout the clerk did say why didn’t we let them know. The ’number’ bed cycled every so often also. Unfortunately we had returned very late to our room and did not want to go through the pack up & move routine.Needs work The room we stayed in had an extremely "loud & noisy" heat / AC unit.

. Great time, very relaxed. Hotel location is perfect.Classy Historic Hotel Huge rooms with classy nostalgia.

. Can’t wait to come back. Breakfast in the restaurant was spectacular. It was much as I remembered it as a child traveling from Scranton to NY on the Phoebe Snow.A Hotel to come back to! We loved our stay at the Lackawanna Train Station.

Great hotel! This hotel was wondeful! Delicious food and great bed especially! Also, wonderful shower!.

. An excellent lunchtime buffet is available on teh main floor. The guest rooms are standard for this class of hotel, but show touches of its early orgins with beautiful marble detailing in the bathroom. It has been completely renovated with the original external and main waiting room art noveau details cleaned up.A Train Station Recycled This hotel is a rebirth of the old Lacawana train station in Scranton.

. There was no indication that we needed to pay to park in the lot.Satisfied I was satisfied with the cleanliness of the hotel; however, I was annoyed with the extra parking fee sprung upon us at the end of our stay.

. You are surround by history. as possible. Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay See as much of Scranton, Pa. It is great remind of how it was to travel by train in bygone days. It had a great European feeling with out having to travel to Europe. My wife and I love the hotel.Great Atmosphere with History.

. However, I am not a fan of the sleep number bed which all rooms with king beds have. It is now renovated into a very, very nice hotel! Details and interior are very cosy.Very Nice Place This building I believe used to be an old train station back in the day.
