Other thn that I would recomend this hotel for all those who are thinking of going to the Navy boot camp graduation. The only negative was we had one room key that was worn and didn’t work.Great for Navy Graduation Our stay was very comfortable.

. The breakfast was wonderful, my sailor really enjoyed some fresh hot food. Pool needs to be warmed, it didn’t feel like a heated pool. Was in the area for Navy graduation and the staff was excellent, very knowlegable and friendly, even when I checked out at 5:00am.I would stay there again.

Very good experience I enjoyed the stay.

. huge indoor swimming pool and hot tub... Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay Bring your swimsuit. Very close to Navy base, too. If I am in the area again, I would definitely stay here. The resturant and bar was very expensive and the food wasn’t that good.Great Hotel The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly.

. Waukegan had no transit and the taxi was expensive. Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay Learn about the transit system before you leave. Not impressed My room was suppose to be non-smoking, it reeked of stale cigarettes; housekeeping broke the towel rake and left the pieces on my sink, 2nd day of my stay they did not take out the trash.

Great place to stay,we recommend this hotel ! Travelers tip on shopping Safe neiborhood but do not go there if you don’t have a car !.Great breakfast but very crowded during weekends.Great plus for free wifi , pool and sauna.Good choice Staff very friendly !Bit too far, 35 miles from downtown Chicago but well located if you want to visit 6 Flags America , near Gurnee Mills Shopping Mall and Pleasant Prairie Outlets.

. Had everything we needed for the one night stay.Great Hotel for Naval Graduation Families This was a nice hotel to stay in.

. For my personal taste, I’d probably choose something else the next time I’m in this area, but it’s a decent hotel. Overall the property could use a bit of refurbishment, but it seemed clean and there was certainly an army of staff working on cleaning things up in the morning. Much more than just a box of Krispy Kremes. The breakfast again wasn’t well suited for me, though for those who like doughnuts, the selection the morning I was there was really very impressive. I was interested in the fitness equipment this hotel claimed to have, but actually it wound up being a couple of treadmills shoved into a room that doubled as a gift shop, so I wound up looking for a workout elsewhere. Between a 3 and 4 on Overall Scale Your satisfaction here will depend on what’s important to you.OK Hotel.

.... It was clean just simply older. Location wasn’t bad from the base and all in all we have no complaints. We didn’t intend to spend a lot of time in the room therefore it didn’t bother us. It accomodated us for what we went there for - to see our son graduate boot camp. Hotel was fine - its older and you can tell that...It was fine.

i had a great night of dancing and drinking.Great place to stay hotel staff was great! Travelers tip on nightlife right in the hotels bar.

. Service was good. The bar/restaurant were ok. The meeting rooms were used for church groups and Herbal Life rally’s so were very loud in the lobby area. It was fine for a one night stay but wouldn’t go back. Not your typical Chicago hotel experience The hotel itself is very outdated and the walls were paper thin (could hear the conversation in the next room!).

. Travelers tip on local attractions Close to RTC, Gurnee Mills Mall, fast food, restaurants, movie theater. Would stay again just maybe on the 2nd floor, safer and quiter. Hotel also had directions printed out and ready the morning of graduation. We were only 5-10 minutes away from the base for easy pick-up and drop off for liberty weekend. Great place to stay for the Navy bootcamp graduation. Even with its misleading looks and with its location right in front of the "projects" of Waukegan it is still one of the better hotels in the area. The room service was WONDERFUL! A little pricey but the quality of food is definitely worth it. They had portable cribs which was wonderful and check-out through the tv. Walls are a little thin, we could hear a kid crying next door and people walking in the room above us. Room was very clean on the other hand, nothing fancy but served its purpose. Quite misleading, so I was a little disappointed. However the rest of the hotel, is rather out of date in terms of the way it looks on the outside. The main lobby and reception area are very nice and is in a newer building.Would stay again Upon arrival I was very confused as to which buildings were part of the hotel.

food was excellent!. brought my son, the sailor graduate back saturday for breakfast. Travelers tip on dining was a great resturant in the hotel with a super breakfast. nice pool and hot tub too. we had a good time. nice to have a reception for the navy graduates families. always smiling. staff was awesome. it was. our room had a smoke odor, i went to the desk and they immediatley gave me another room, said to check it out and let them know if that was acceptable.Staff was wonderful, i would go back we arrived early and they had our room ready anyway.

. I would recommend finding somewhere else to eat. And the service there was ridiculous. The food is mediocre at best and WAY overpriced. Travelers tip on dining The restaurant in the hotel is a JOKE. Overal it was a decent stay. The breakfast was ok - pretty crowded even early in the morning.Ok for a few nights on a budget The bed and pillows were so comfortable.

Travelers tip on shopping The outlets 4 miles up the road were awesome!. Would stay there again if we went back to Gurnee. They made us feel very welcome. The complimentary Navy family meet & greet was a great idea. We were very happy with our stay at the Ramada Inn. The bed was very comfortable.Very comfortable The front desk help was extremely helpful and friendly.

. Travelers tip Not a great place to stay for visiting Great Lakes Naval Base. The hotel seems quite dated but I did love the down comforters on the bed. I about wet my pants trying to get into the hotel because my key didn’t work. Not impressed The key cards are annoying and do not give you access to the doors properly.

. I would have stayed somewhere else if everything else within 50 miles of the Chicago area hadn’t been booked already that night, and I certainly won’t be going back. The room was shabby, and the front desk help was sub-par.Definitely not recommended I found this hotel to be dirty and smelling like dogs, though I don’t think pets were allowed.

. ice machines) a distance from the room.e. Conveniences, (i. Very little security outside of the hotel, and was approached my questionable element. Neighborhood not the safest. Not impressed Room was had a very musty smell upon entering.

. The only complaints I would have is that the hall by our room had an odor that reminded me of sewage or the smell on a bus after someone hurled. Clean & quiet room and pool area.Convenient location with pool/sauna & hottub A friendly no hassle check in/out.

).(About 45 minutes to an hour from downtown.) from the Gurney Mills outlet mall, with only one or two turns to remember/negotiate this is a awsome location in the suburbs.) from Six Flags Great America, and only 5 miles (approx. Travelers tip on local attractions This hotel is located only 3 miles (approx.Perfect location for Kids and Adults Ramada Inn Waukegan The rates were very resonable for the location of this hotel, the rooms were clean, nice pool, adequite work-out facilities, the phone did not work in our room, and the staff was a little slow to respond to our needs at times but overall a nice hotel with good staff.

. Travelers tip on recreational activities Very convenient to get to Great America and Gurnee Mills shopping. We were a bit disappointed with that. The breakfast room had run out of EVERYTHING. The room had been redone and was very nice. The pool water and hot tub need to be cleaned, they look very dirty.Old This hotel definitely needs a renovation.

Travelers tip on local attractions Six Flags - visit the park, it is lots of fun. This is what I’ll remember after the stay here.If you can stay somewhere else Old building, moldy smell in the room, dirty bathrooms and dark swiming pool.

When i go back, I will absolutely stay at this hotel again!!. I tried it thanks to reviews i read on expedia from other members after my last experience in this town and I am so glad i did. If you must stay in this town, stay at this hotel. He ended up replacing the iron with a working one. However, the front desk sent a maintenance guy within minutes of my call to try to fix the iron. The only complaint i had was the tv remote was missing and the iron stopped working. The room was clean and well kept. I ate breakfast in the restaurant, the food came very fast and was good.Better than others in town I highly recommend this hotel, it was so much nicer than another hotel in the same town, just blocks away.

. Travelers tip on shopping Gurnee Mills Outlet Mall was a real treat. Our room was non-smoking and there was no smell of smoke at all in the room. I would recommend they make it totally smoke free and perhaps get some better irons and ironing boards. I didn’t like the cigarette smoke smell in hallways. Food was good, especially the breakfast. The bonus was the restaurant and bar.Comfortable Hotel A comfortable hotel, with modest amenities and very friendly staff.

. Travelers tip on local attractions Chicago is fantastic! The magnificent mile has everything you will need. Stay there knowing that you won’t spend all day in the room. So I ordered pizza from the local Papa Johns. I called room service to order food and they hung up on me twice. It is very shabby and rundown. The beds were extremely comfortable, however the bathroom needs to be updated. It provided all the basics I needed. I stayed at the Ramada for a Naval Recruit Graduation....Don’t expect high class.
