Reviews

. Everthing you need for vacationing is easily accessable. Travelers tip on local attractions Lots of shops and resturants. You have privacy, easy access to beach, great places close by to shop and dine. This hotel is perfect. We are planning to make this a yearly family event. I have recommended this vacation to all my co-workers, family, and friends. Staff is very eager to satisfy customer needs and special requests.Joanna’s 2009 pick Housekeeping was very courtious.

. Great beach front. A small pool for toddlers, a grotto bar for the adults, and a play area for the rest.Great for families This hotel has something for every one.

. If you only plan to sleep in the room and bring very little with you it will be great. I would stay here again but wait until I could trust my girls to have their own room. The cafe had an ok breakfast buffet nothing special. We had two suitcases and could only open one at a time, they had to be stacked to fit anywhere. The rooms however were tiny.Great pools and beach but The pools and beach front were great and had beautiful views.

. Check the weather before you go - for rain & hurricanes. Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay Pack a lunch for the beach and eat fried seafood at night. It’s a nice family hotel for the money. There was a refrigerator, a microwave, and a safe in the room. The room service was good and the breakfast buffet was tasty and reasonable. We spent most of our time in a beach chair (additional fee but worth it) and the kids played in the sand. There is a second pool for swimming, a garden area, and a beautiful beachfront. If you have a toddler this is a problem. Unfortunately, they didn’t allow kids in any kind of diapers, including swim diapers, in the waterfall pool.Lots of amenities for the money This hotel offered a nice splash park for the kids and a great pool with a waterfall.

Travelers tip on nightlife Go to the boardwalk !!!!. Boardwalk was right next door; good food and fun, and no noise back to the hotel. And good location; easy in and out. Food was good and priced good also. Right on beach, very nice garden area, and great pools.Very nice, would return.

.Workers were very nice, service was friendly and quick. Was a little smaller than i had hoped, though we made it work.Extrmely nice hotel room not as big as id hoped our stay was overall very pleasant only dislike was the double room.

. Also didn’t have a elevator in the bldg we were in,so had to carry everything up.Some buildings have them and others didn’t.The only thing that we really needed was a microwave in the room.Nice pool area Everything was fine.

. Alvin’s Gift shop at hotel very reasonable for everything. Boardwalk is next door with some restaurants and shops. Bring your own shade and chairs, so you can move away from them and spread out. Beach TOO Crowded due to large amt of rental chairs/umbrellas right on top of each other. in pool-view rooms, a bonus. Microwave and fridge. Rooms are small, but spent the extra to get a pool room with a balcony and that helped a lot with space.Would Definitely Go Back Hotel was older, but extremely clean and well maintained.

...Awesome hotel stay would recommened it highly.... Our a/c was broke in our room when we first checked in I called the front desk and within minutes they changed it out... There is also a gift shop in the pool area. OUr kids enjoyed it as well we enjoyed the pool the playground and the fact that there was 3 pools heated regular with a bar in the pool and a kiddie pool...July 21-24, 2009 We enjoyed our room.

We will definitely go back!. The location was awesome and we could walk to restaurants so we didn’t even have to get in the car the whole time we were there. It was very clean with plenty to keep the kids entertained. Can’t wait to go back Hotel was great.

.We had a great time.We couldn’t have asked for more.Very Impressed The hotel was very clean, very kid friendly.

. It is hard to turn left out of the hotel because of traffic. Walton or Destin to get to most of the restaurants. You will have to drive into Ft. Travelers tip on dining If you want to be close to restaurants, you will not want to stay here. We would stay there again. The hotel was clean and we felt comfortable and safe there. Will visit again It was a little pricey as compared to other hotels, but the view from our room was great.

. Pool was clean, grounds were well taken care of.but always clean and well maintained... Not the biggest rooms.good location Stayed at the hotel many times...Good experience.

Plenty of dining and nightlife next door at the Boardwalk! Travelers tip on nightlife Howl at the Moon next door in the boardwalk was awesome!!. Big plus is you don’t have to get in your car if you don’t want too. Inside hotel rooms are old and dingy but it was clean and you are at the beach so you shouldn’t be in your room much anyway. Outside areas are great. If you are watching your pocketbook and don’t care if you are staying in a nice room this hotel is good.OKAY This is a good family budget hotel.

. We really liked the food at Angler’s and the Crab Trap better. If you go to AJ’s be prepared for the excessive noise level, the food was marginal for the price. Travelers tip on dining Lots of great dinning experiences to be had in the area. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to enjoy the beauty of the Emerald Coast. The amenities of the property were just what we wanted, and the proximity to the boardwalk and the pier made for a pleasurable experience.Great Place to Stay We were very pleased with hotel.

. It was worth the money to have the extra room and for the view. Travelers tip on local attractions I would stay in a room facing the ocean (at least on the 2nd floor) with a balcony. The only down side was the hotel room itself. The hotel also provided arts and crafts and other children activities during the day. They had a waterfall that was really cool and they also had another pool that was warm and then a hot tub. We would possibly stay there again because of the location to the beach and the swimming pools. There were only 3 of us in our room. We were not in the hotel room very much but when we were, it was tight. We ate breakfast on the balcony each morning and watched the dolphins. We also loved the balcony. We were pleased to have a refrigerator and a microwave in the room. The bathroom was also very tiny. Our bathroom door did not close and my husband had to work on the toliet to get it to flush. It was very small (room 5034). The only part of our stay that was less than perfect was the actual hotel room. On Friday night, the hotel showed a move outside by the pool. They loved the pools and so did we. We were there with two 7 year olds and a 9 year old. The swimming pools were great. We could walk down the beach to several restraunts that were very good. We had a room overlooking the ocean and we could see the dolphins.Great location to the beach! The hotel is right on the beach.

. But who goes to the beach to sit on the internet and in a hotel room. The rooms are a little out dated, parking is bad at night, and the internet access is slow.Nice Hotel -Decent Price Hotel is nice they take good care of the grounds and the pools are very nice.

. I would recommend this hotel for anyone with kids. The room was nothing special but really all we did was sleep and shower there so it didn’t matter all that much to us. It was difficult to get more than one person in at a time. The only complaint that I had was the size of the bathroom. The kids absolutely loved it It was difficult to get the kids to go to the beach with the number of amazing pools that the hotel had.

. Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay Don’t get a beachfront ground floor room - you just as well get a pool view because you can’t see the beach. There are souvenir shops everywhere. Very Child Friendly! Just a short drive to Silver Sands Outlet. My family had a wonderful time. The pool is beautiful and the grotto bar makes great pina coladas! There are nice gardens with winding paths all around the pool - very pretty & peaceful. They have great kid activities at the pool. My 6 year old loved the splash garden, my 14 year old loved the waterfalln pool, and my hubby loved the grotto bar. We were given a room on ground level which had NO VIEW because of a fence - you couldn’t even see the beach - so BEWARE! We were promptly moved to the 4th floor with a beautiful view. We requested an early check-in on an upper beachfront floor.Had A Blast! This was our 2nd trip to this hotel.

We’ll be back again next year!!!.Another Great Family Vacation We’ve been visiting the Resort since the late 1980’s as teenagers! Although the rooms could use a bit of updating, the hotel, it’s location and the unique waterfall mountain pool make it a favorite vacation spot.

appealing to all ages..... we have already booked another room for august ;) Travelers tip on local attractions located directly beside the boardwalk- full of restaraunts, gift shops and night clubs.thank goodness!! its not easy to find a place that the teenagers can’t get enough of and the "older generation"-as my son says- doesn’t want to leave either...Peaceful paradise our entire family was pleased with my choice in hotels this time.

. We had a wonderful time.Fabulous I would go back to this resort anytime.

. Shell Island in PCB is worth the trip if you can go all day. Travel an hr away to Panama City-it is worth the drive for the large shopping cntr-plus you can find more shells in PCB than you can in Destin.Destin Snorkel & the big yellow Dolphin Cruise boat are best priced & friendly. New restaurant @ the end of the shops upstairs (far right side)has great food & prices. Go snorkeling or on a dolphin cruise. Travelers tip on local attractions Great place-about 15 mins away(over bridge to right)in Destin-Harbor Walk. So, even when you don’t have the ’do not disturb’ sign on the door - always call down to the desk and tell them you would like your room cleaned that day when you leave. After a full day at the beach you want to walk in to a clean room. When I called the front desk they sent someone to clean the room, but of coarse wouldn’t give us anything extra for this trip to compensate. We stayed for 7 nights and housekeeping ’missed’ our room 3 of those days. The pool was clean and heated which made you want to stay all day out there. The view from the room was excellent! After reading reviews this was why we chose this hotel, and it did live up to that expectation. The room was small for four people (2 adults, 2 teenagers) but we went for the beach so it didn’t matter too much. It wasn’t that big of a deal since we weren’t staying in the lobby. When we checked in the front desk person was not very welcoming - they had just had a big storm there and we walked in to the lobby to find a few buckets sitting around to catch the water dripping from a few areas of the ceiling.Good - not great - but worth the view (and time in the pool) Overall I would rate our hotel experience ’good’.

. I will definitely return. Great beach side bar and grill, good breakfast buffet, and the staff is very accomodating and helpful. It is extremely convenient and has unbelieveable amenities including a huge splash garden for children and multiple pools and spas.Wonderful Hotel, will defnintely return, unbelieveable amenities!! The Ramada Plaza Beach Resort is a terrific hotel right on the beach.

. We watched people fish and saw 3 dolphins -- they were stealing large bait off the hooks. Travelers tip on local attractions Take a walk on the pier ($1 per person). We enjoyed the hotel, and will definitely go again. I used other traveler’s opinions in selecting this hotel so I knew what areas might be a problem, but our experience was a good one. Recommend the Fisherman’s Wharf. Lots of good places to eat in Destin (6 or 7 miles). Only ate at the hotel once and it was for breakfast -- lovely dining room, good service but the food was not good, so don’t bother. The hotel had plenty of separate areas on the grounds so it never felt crowded -- beach, waterfall pool, smaller pool, kids "water park" area. Beach was well maintained: saw a tractor with a device to clean the trash out of the sand early in the morning twice during our 4 night stay. The first-floor poolside rooms in the tower had the pool right off the patio -- so if the pool is your thing, it’s pretty neat to be able to basically swim right out your door. a small balcony with two chairs and a side table -- definitely worth the extra bucks for the gulf view... We stayed in a third floor beachfront room and had a great view . The tower rooms face the pool/garden or the beach. The standard rooms are motel-type and either face the parking or the gardens, which are lovely. The room are just basic room, nothing fancy, but you are paying for the location (which is very good!) Anytime we asked for anything (light bulb out, extra blanket), the staff responded immediately and everybody was friendly.Great stay! The hotel is older but in good condition.
