    Rude and Aloof

    The restauant and lounge staff were about as cold as the breakfast. Rooms are a bit dated, albeit with comfy pillows. One room / hallway had such a nauseating smell, that we had to be moved to another room. The central location isn’t worth the lack of affability or ambience.

    One of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had

    We were given a terrible, 3rd floor room in the older wing of the hotel where there is no elevator and the overall condition of the hotel is very poor. The response to our (valid) complaints by the front desk personnel was unacceptable and extremely disappointing. Our experience at this hotel made me want to cancel my Starwood membership and boycott all of their hotels.

    Clean and pet friendly!

    While the hotel staff were responsive, they were in no way warm and welcoming (except for the cleaning lady). They could have had more information available in the room with regard to area sites and activities as well. However, the hotel was very clean and I was impressed with the number of pet owners who stayed there and you never would have known.

    Food is pricey in Vermont. Plan ahead.

    Sheraton Burlington review

    Last year stayed at the double tree and beds were much morre confortable that the Sheraton. Very soft matress so has soon as I climbed in it my spouse had no choice to roll towards me..

    Wasn’t worth the money

    "Deluxe" room and bath were extremely small and in the basement. Directions to the room given by front desk staff were very bad and failed to mention there was no elevator access. Additionally, the room number direction signs were incorrect. Hotel services were spotty.

    This will be my hotel when I visit Burlington from now on. Just wonderful.

    not impressed

    our room was not ready when we arrived even though our room had been paid at booking. They were scrambling to find a room with 2 double beds as we were traveling with children. We were in a lower room near the pool and it smelled musty in the hallway. Not the best.

    Ants!

    On the first night of my stay, I got take out and put the paper bag the food came in on the floor. I look at the bag about 10 minutes later and it was covered with small ants. I threw the entire bag, and the remainder of my meal, into the small wastecan, tied it up and threw it away in an outside garbage. I went to the front desk to ask to be moved to a new room, but the front desk guy said he could either move me to the unrenovated part of the hotel or have Engineering come spray my room. Neither option was good (inhaling bug spray???), so I decided to brave the ants and not have a crumb of food in the room to feed them.     nice hotel, boring location

    I would not stay here again basically because it is far from the fun downtown nightlife. That said this hotel is a great option for families and large groups. The hotel was very clean and service was good. My only other complaint is many of the rooms do not have a window that looks outside. My window looked into the atrium which was depressing and not really private.

    Needs work

    This hotel is located in a great spot between the airport, downtown, and the campuses. But, it’s old and in need of rehab. Smells bad, carpet isn’t clean. The beds are very nice though.

    Not worth the price

    I am an average Joe traveler. I like a clean room, comfortable bed, not small bathroom, climate control, ( I like it cool) and a remote that works. This hotel is not up to Sheraton standards. The room was not dirty, the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was made for elementary students. There was a lack of hot water the first night but ok the rest of the stay. The remote control needed batteries but I always bring a set. The climate control was below average. The room temperature ranged from 60 to 80 without changing any controls and was on constantly. Room service was prompt but way to expensive. The restaurant was adequate but again way expensive which is always evaluated by the cheapness of the consumer. Hamburger and French fries and one beer $25. There are not a lot of choices in Burlington but stay at the Holiday express at least you get a breakfast.

    Very nice but expensive!

    Very nice hotel, excellent location and very clean. The fitness center was small but had very good equipment. My only complaint is the expense. Dinner at the restaurant costs about $30 and internet access for 24 hrs costs $10. People should know this before reserving a room.

    on college tour

    The hotel was very good and certainly for the one night we spent, more than adequate. The beds were comfortable and the staff friendly. My husband was delighted to find the newspaper outside our door in the morning. The only problem with our room was the heating/AC unit which was very noisy. Since we arrived late and were tired this did not effect our sleep, but we told the front desk in the morning and they said someone would be up to look at the unit and fix it if necessary. departure.

    great hotel

    this hotel was perfect for us. it was easy wlaking to the burlington waterfront and university mall. my mom is 72 years old and the walk was okay for her as they have areas to sit and rest. the staff was very accomadating and the shuttle driver drove us to nearby areas when he wasn’t needed for airport transfers. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

    Stay on the Lake front instead

    It was probably the best hotel near the University, but Burlington is so small...I would stay at the Hilton next time. Rooms were okay...plastic throw away cups, old peeling wall paper, stale smell, one bed had a terrible sag. For the price...no way. It was not as nice as a Drury Inn or Holiday Inn Express or Hampton. The front desk people were very nice.

    eastern trip

    for buisness i get to burlington vermont about every 8-10 weeks. i always stay at sheraton as i have come to really enjoy the location for the simple fact that i can walk through the campus to get to down town "church street" where much of what makes burlington so enjoyable. my room was nice but in need of some repair with the room door in poor shape. small things really, nothing crazy enough to make me want to shop around. looking out and over the mountains the room was very quiet all through my stay.

    One really odd thing...

    I always keep the Do Not Disturb sign on the door until I check out. I don’t need all that extra effort put into cleaning the room every day. One day I returned from work to find that housekeeping had come in and cleaned anyway, and put the Do Not Disturb sign *back inside the room*, so I know they didn’t just miss it on the way in.

    The hotel restaurant is pretty good, and pretty fast at breakfast. Food at the bar is quite good, too.

    Nice Place To Stay

    The Sheraton was a great place to stay. When we arrived, they upgraded our room when they saw that we would be there for 5 nights. The whole staff was extremely friendly and very welcoming. The room was very comfy and always spotlessly clean. I wish there could have been free wi-fi--that was my only disappointment. I would definitely stay there again and I would recommend it to others. They location was perfect, it’s right off the highway and close to downtown.

    Lacking Service

    On the second night of our stay, we got back to the room late and could not get in because the door latch was faulty and had latched back on itself when we left the room. The front desk had engineering come up and open the door. Fine. But 2 issues - housekeeping did not make up the room and blamed us for "keeping the latch on". How could we do that when we were gone? They could have had engineering come up and open the room just like we did. Also, it was obvious after looking closely at the door that this had happened before and the hotel did not replace the faulty latch. Very inconvenient and annoying! Would not stay here again.

    What you would expect

    Not overly exciting, but room excellent for the price. Bar basic, restaurant pretty good. Definitely recommend for business travel....
