Reviews

. The central location isn’t worth the lack of affability or ambience. One room / hallway had such a nauseating smell, that we had to be moved to another room. Rooms are a bit dated, albeit with comfy pillows.Rude and Aloof The restauant and lounge staff were about as cold as the breakfast.

. Travelers tip Nothing to recommend = awful hotel. Our experience at this hotel made me want to cancel my Starwood membership and boycott all of their hotels. The response to our (valid) complaints by the front desk personnel was unacceptable and extremely disappointing. One of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had We were given a terrible, 3rd floor room in the older wing of the hotel where there is no elevator and the overall condition of the hotel is very poor.

. Plan ahead. Travelers tip on saving a few bucks Food is pricey in Vermont. However, the hotel was very clean and I was impressed with the number of pet owners who stayed there and you never would have known. They could have had more information available in the room with regard to area sites and activities as well.Clean and pet friendly! While the hotel staff were responsive, they were in no way warm and welcoming (except for the cleaning lady).

.. Very soft matress so has soon as I climbed in it my spouse had no choice to roll towards me.Sheraton Burlington review Last year stayed at the double tree and beds were much morre confortable that the Sheraton.

. Hotel services were spotty. Additionally, the room number direction signs were incorrect. Directions to the room given by front desk staff were very bad and failed to mention there was no elevator access.Wasn’t worth the money "Deluxe" room and bath were extremely small and in the basement.

. Just wonderful. My hotel This will be my hotel when I visit Burlington from now on.

. Not the best. We were in a lower room near the pool and it smelled musty in the hallway. They were scrambling to find a room with 2 double beds as we were traveling with children. Not impressed our room was not ready when we arrived even though our room had been paid at booking.

Tristan Harris, Director of Operations. We can assure you that your next experience here will be flawless. We do hope that the next time your journey brings you to the Burlington area that you will consider choosing to relax and rest at our property. In closing, we once again offer our deepest apologies. We work very closely with our pest vendor to ensure we keep them under control but obviously on this occasion they got ahead of us. The spring time in Vermont does stir the wildlife but it certainly should not have impacted your stay. We also want to thank you for sharing the feedback so that we can continue to work with our associates on how to best handle any problem situations that our guests encounter. It certainly is not the type of memorable experience that we want to create for our guests. Comment from the hotels management Posted: 9-Jun-09 Dear Valued Guest Let us start by offering our genuine apologies for the experience you encountered. Neither option was good (inhaling bug spray???), so I decided to brave the ants and not have a crumb of food in the room to feed them. I went to the front desk to ask to be moved to a new room, but the front desk guy said he could either move me to the unrenovated part of the hotel or have Engineering come spray my room. I threw the entire bag, and the remainder of my meal, into the small wastecan, tied it up and threw it away in an outside garbage. I look at the bag about 10 minutes later and it was covered with small ants.Ants! On the first night of my stay, I got take out and put the paper bag the food came in on the floor.

.Excellent Hotel This is my third time staying and the level of service and quality of the rooms are fantastic.

Lost my money Could not get to hotel but could not cancel reservation.

Hotel Management, General Manager. We would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to have you again as our guest and hopefully the shuttle service makes the location that more convenient for you. I apologize of that was not offered to you or brought to your attention during your stay. One other aspect of our service is complementary shuttle service to and from downtown. We appreciate your kind words regarding the cleanliness and service at the property. We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback regarding your stay and experience at our hotel. Travelers tip on dining check out Leunigs restraunt on church street! Comment from the hotels management Posted: 26-Mar-09 Dear Valued Customer: Thank you for choosing to stay at the Sheraton during your journey to Vermont. My window looked into the atrium which was depressing and not really private. My only other complaint is many of the rooms do not have a window that looks outside. The hotel was very clean and service was good. That said this hotel is a great option for families and large groups.Nice hotel, boring location I would not stay here again basically because it is far from the fun downtown nightlife.

. The beds are very nice though. Smells bad, carpet isn’t clean. But, it’s old and in need of rehab.Needs work This hotel is located in a great spot between the airport, downtown, and the campuses.

. There are not a lot of choices in Burlington but stay at the Holiday express at least you get a breakfast. Hamburger and French fries and one beer $25. The restaurant was adequate but again way expensive which is always evaluated by the cheapness of the consumer. Room service was prompt but way to expensive. The room temperature ranged from 60 to 80 without changing any controls and was on constantly. The climate control was below average. The remote control needed batteries but I always bring a set. There was a lack of hot water the first night but ok the rest of the stay. The bathroom was made for elementary students. The room was not dirty, the bed was comfortable. This hotel is not up to Sheraton standards. I like a clean room, comfortable bed, not small bathroom, climate control, ( I like it cool) and a remote that works. Not worth the price I am an average Joe traveler.

. People should know this before reserving a room. Dinner at the restaurant costs about $30 and internet access for 24 hrs costs $10. My only complaint is the expense. The fitness center was small but had very good equipment.Very nice but expensive! Very nice hotel, excellent location and very clean.

. Travelers tip on local attractions Very convenient to UVM and Champlain College. departure. Since we arrived late and were tired this did not effect our sleep, but we told the front desk in the morning and they said someone would be up to look at the unit and fix it if necessary. The only problem with our room was the heating/AC unit which was very noisy. My husband was delighted to find the newspaper outside our door in the morning. The beds were comfortable and the staff friendly. On college tour The hotel was very good and certainly for the one night we spent, more than adequate.

. Nice place to wind down after a long work day. Has a good restaurant and bar.Good Hotel, Right Place & Right Price Convenient to airport and downtown.

located @ the end of main st @the waterfront. Travelers tip on dining calahans pub was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel. the staff was very accomadating and the shuttle driver drove us to nearby areas when he wasn’t needed for airport transfers. my mom is 72 years old and the walk was okay for her as they have areas to sit and rest. it was easy wlaking to the burlington waterfront and university mall.Great hotel this hotel was perfect for us.

. The front desk people were very nice. It was not as nice as a Drury Inn or Holiday Inn Express or Hampton.no way... For the price.plastic throw away cups, old peeling wall paper, stale smell, one bed had a terrible sag... Rooms were okay.I would stay at the Hilton next time...Stay on the Lake front instead It was probably the best hotel near the University, but Burlington is so small.

. internet avaliable for use as well as casual and leasure time off in the hotel. Travelers tip for business travelers close to interstae travel as well as downtown. looking out and over the mountains the room was very quiet all through my stay. small things really, nothing crazy enough to make me want to shop around. my room was nice but in need of some repair with the room door in poor shape. i always stay at sheraton as i have come to really enjoy the location for the simple fact that i can walk through the campus to get to down town "church street" where much of what makes burlington so enjoyable.Eastern trip for buisness i get to burlington vermont about every 8-10 weeks.

. Food at the bar is quite good, too. Travelers tip on dining The hotel restaurant is pretty good, and pretty fast at breakfast. One day I returned from work to find that housekeeping had come in and cleaned anyway, and put the Do Not Disturb sign *back inside the room*, so I know they didn’t just miss it on the way in. I don’t need all that extra effort put into cleaning the room every day. I always keep the Do Not Disturb sign on the door until I check out...One really odd thing.

.Nice Hotel Would definitely stay here again.

. They location was perfect, it’s right off the highway and close to downtown. I would definitely stay there again and I would recommend it to others. I wish there could have been free wi-fi--that was my only disappointment. The room was very comfy and always spotlessly clean. The whole staff was extremely friendly and very welcoming. When we arrived, they upgraded our room when they saw that we would be there for 5 nights.Nice Place To Stay The Sheraton was a great place to stay.

Wonderful! Had a wonderful stay! Everyone was nice, helpful and friendly!! Would stay there again!.

. Very inconvenient and annoying! Would not stay here again. Also, it was obvious after looking closely at the door that this had happened before and the hotel did not replace the faulty latch. How could we do that when we were gone? They could have had engineering come up and open the room just like we did. But 2 issues - housekeeping did not make up the room and blamed us for "keeping the latch on". Fine. The front desk had engineering come up and open the door.Lacking Service On the second night of our stay, we got back to the room late and could not get in because the door latch was faulty and had latched back on itself when we left the room.

.... Definitely recommend for business travel. Bar basic, restaurant pretty good. What you would expect Not overly exciting, but room excellent for the price.
