Travelers tip on local attractions
Purchase a map of Washington DC or you will surely get lost. The only problem was getting into the the hotel from the front door, the driveway is very narrow and busy. The check in was effortless. The room was spotless.Great Stay
I had a great stay.
. All in all the room was nice and the staff was friendly but I would not stay again because of its location. My family came with me on this trip and was very excited to use the heated pool, but it would have been nice to know that the pool is only open from 4-10 pm during the week.Nice hotel but would not stay here again
The hotels location is bad, no places to eat in walking distance and parking is too expensive ($20 a night).

Travelers tip on local attractions
Although there are no local attractions to see around the hotel, the hotel does provide free transportation to the metro system which is about 5 minutes away. I ate breakfast and dinner a couple of times in the hotel restaurant and the food was really good and the waitstaff were excellent. I found the staff to be very friendly and courteous. This hotel was recommended to me by my daughter who had stayed there recently. I really enjoyed my stay.Great hotel
This hotel was great.
C!. Would have liked to have free Wifi
Wear comfortable walking shoes in D. I did appreciate the shuttle service to the nearest metro. Eventhough I did enjoy my stay, I would pick one closer to my planned destinations.
If you want to stay in a hotel within walking distance of the metro, this is not the one for you.I recommend this hotel.
. I would stay there again. The food was pretty good (Philly Cheesesteak Flatbread=yum) and the bar area was fun. My bed was very, very comfortable. I caught the free shuttle from the airport and the staff was friendly and efficient.Great Value
The Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington, VA was a great value.
. All in all, I would easily return to this hotel as long as it offered a price advantage over other hotels that are more centrally located. To make up for it, the hotel has a complimentary shuttle service which is very helpful. The downside to this hotel is its location - it is rather isolated from town. It was nice to have a hotel that provides free WIFI and internet access kiosks, a very comfortable bed with central heating/ac, and great service.Good hotel, average location
I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel and have no complaints about the service, cleanliness, and quality of the accommodations.
. Should park away and take the subway to the Mall. Watch out for parking tickets. No place to park on the streets.
Travelers tip on saving a few bucks
Taking the car into downtown is useless these days. Will look for a fair facility next time. No street parking is allowed close to the hotel. Extra charge for internet and parking was unexpected and actually highly priced. Hotel staff are like zombies-pretend they dont see you.Not up to a Sheraton brand
Even though room is a good size, clean and confortable, low level rooms are close to external air condition so theyre very noisy.
. You dont find that out until you get a pretty hefty bill. The signs suggest that certain drinks are available at discount wednesday thru friday when in fact only one such drink is available at discount each day. My only complaint was their Happy Hour. Staff is very helpful and it is about as close as you can get to all the Washington DC monuments.Nice Convenient Hotel
This hotel is very pleasant.
. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful.Great view
Our room overlooked both the Pentagon and Arlington Cemetary.
You will save a ton!. Nice bedding, good water pressure in shower, and Starbucks coffee! I will definitely stay here again!
Travelers tip on saving a few bucks
Buy an all day pass for the Metro in DC. Other than those 2 minor things our stay was great. They do have a free shuttle service to the Metro, but we were not informed until after we walked all the way to the Pentagon City Metro. My only other complaint would be that the hotel led me to believe that the Metro station was within walking distance, but was not for my 65 year old mother. I have two minor complaints, one being we asked for an extra blanket and they could not locate one. Very clean, with a very friendly staff.Very Comfortable Stay!
This was overall a great place to stay.
., and to all of the sites and monuments.C. Definitely would stay here again!
Travelers tip on local attractions
Use the metro! A day pass is very affordable and takes you into Arlington Cemetery, downtown D. The staff was helpful and even recommended some local restaurants and attractions. I used the free shuttle from the hotel to the metro station several times.Great Hotel!
The hotel was very clean, quiet, and the beds were comfortable.
. It helps when you have a great hotel to help you with things. so plan to stay 5-7 days to do everything.C. There is plenty to see in Washington, D.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay
Make sure you plan your trip well. We certainly couldnt of asked for more.).m. The one thing I was disappointed with, as per request, was our room was not ready for an earlier check-in(1 p. The food was great. The staff was great. It was nice to see the life guard bringing towels out to us. for our kids that was the highlight of their day. After a hard day of walking in DC, we all enjoyed the pool. in the room.v. They were happy to see the flat screen t. My girls loved and enjoyed the room with fluffy pillows.Impressive
I had some doubts but was very happy with the hotel.
Dont stay here!. I wouldnt stay at a Sheraton Property again based on that action. The same hotel that didnt even know if I was safe? Dont think so. I called the Sheraton Corporate Office and they couldnt even get a straight answer plus when i called them back two days later, they put it on the hotel to satisfy me. RIDICULOUS. Hotel guests took it upon themselves to return once the fire trucks left. No one from the staff verified the floors where evacuated, there was no one outside making sure guests were all right or being taken care of, and to top it all off - there was NEVER any announcement made that it was safe to go back to our rooms. We had a fire alarm at 12:45 in the morning, no staff to give updates as to what was going on even with two fire trucks and countless firemen running around.Zero Safety Policy for Sheraton National
Dont stay at this hotel unless you have to.
. PLan Ahead. Also get in touch with your Congressman, they can get you into places you can not walk up and get into. Add to your ticket as opposed to buying a new one.00 ticket will do the job for one day and youll have left over. of USA at Arlington on our last day too!
Metro is the best way to travel, check how much you will use, a $5. Got to See the Pres. Good transport to the Metro, Overall a nice vacation in Washington with no un-happy events.Great Place for the Family
Very Nice Staff, Clean Room with a Nice View.
We didnt want to leave!. We plan to stay there when we return once my father and mother-in-laws headstone is placed. The kids loved the indoor pool and the flat screen tvs in our rooms. The staff is fantastic, transportion excellent with shuttles leaving every 15 minutes to the metro station and airport, the rooms incredibly comfortable with the most amazing beds, especially the pillows! Our shower drain needed work, but that is my only complaint. The front desk has excellent directions printed. We drove there in about 5 minutes. We were there for the burial of my husbands parents ashes at Arlington and it is super convenient to the cemetary for folks in DC for this occasion.Very comforting hotel
We very much enjoyed our stay in this hotel and look forward to returning.
.Very Nice
This hotel was extremely nice and comfortable.
. Hotel shuttle from airport and metro was very convenient, room cleanliness was phenomenal and great size for a hotel room and staff was courteous and attentive. a little pricey but it is room service... Room service was speedy and delicious.Very Impressed
First time staying in a Sheraton and will definitely try to again because of this hotel.
. Wed hoped to just walk to transit stations, but it didnt happen, so that was dissapointing. We had to wait for shuttles anytime we wanted to go out, but this was not what we expected when we signed up.Not great for visitors looking to walk around
yes, this hotel was "near" the pentagon and local trains, but it was on the other side of a highway where you would not be able to walk to the local attractions.
A pleasure
We were very satisfied and could not have been more pleased.
. But theres a shuttle service every 1/2 hour to Pentagon City, so that makes up for it. The only complaint I have is that theres not much to do in the immediate area. Great view from my room on the 8th floor. Nice lobby, good, but rather expensive restaurant, and the indoor heated pool was relaxing.Great Hotel
This is a great hotel! A beautiful older building (built 42 years ago).
. Reagan airport 5 Min away. Excellent location for Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, Henderson Hall. Shuttle to airport and metro was convenient. Good bar and restaurant. Coffee maker in room.Very good hotel
I had a great room.
Definitely Stay Here Again
The quality, service and friendly staff was great experience above all the price!.
Nice and clean Hotel

They Sheraton National had excellent amenities and the Staff were very helpful.
. Restaurant was very good too. All very convenient for us and made trip very enjoyable. Had shuttle service to and from airport and to and from Metro train.Excellent hotel and location
