The worst thing that happened to us though was that we came back to our room after being gone all day to find that the cleaning lady had left our door wide open with all of our belongings inside. The blankets on the bed were full of cigarette burn holes and the comforter was so stinky we threw it on the floor every night. The shower walls had all kinds of hairs (including what looked like pubic hairs) on them. It smelled of urine. It was obvious that the floors had not been mopped in some time. The bathroom was disgusting. Despite being told that our room was "new" it was very dark and musty. Big mistake. This year we stayed at the Super 8 because it was the cheapest. My husband and I travel to Grinnell every year to visit family...You Get What You Pay For.
