Reviews

. Travelers tip Get a coffee/tea/snack at the Hi Rise Bakery on Brattle St.Just great We love staying there.

Good Hotel Good Hotel.

. Ohh! And TV in the bathroom mirror! Travelers tip Was not too expensive through Expedia. Very nice decor, not pretentious , tasteful. Wireless Internet free. Bath robe. Spacious room. Great Location. Very pleasant.Pleasure Could not be better.

.Highly recommend this to anyone.Wonderful Stay Clean, fantastically comfortable bed, right in the heart of it all.

Would recommend this hotel pleasant staff.

. Try not to park at the hotel for an extended stay; parking is $30/day. Travelers tip on saving a few bucks Take the T.) A+. All the restaurants were excellent, plus Legal Sea Foods (not technically part of the hotel, but also right there. Internet stations on every floor were a plus; don’t know why they charged for in-room access though. Rooms were bright, beds soft.Very comfortable in Cambridge Nice place to stay right in the heart of Cambridge.

. Removal and replacement after we arrived caused a major upheaval, hotel blamed Expedia, delay in settling in, and was quite irritating.Very nice but don’t come with allergies Our request for special service through Expedia for removal of all feather bedding and replacement with non-allergenic foam or Dacron was completely ignored.

. Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay The subway is very close, so once you leave the car with the valet, you can forget about it until your departure. Other than that PERFECT. Well it is not a room but a bookshelf with two armchairs right in the lobby. One night I had to do some work so off I went looking for the "library". The only thing that I found odd is the "library". We enjoyed the stay very much.Very Pleasant stay Very confortable stay, excellent room, good service, good restaurants.

. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I also used the fitness center which overlooks the Charles River partly and has a pool for swimming laps. There is a Legal Seafood in the courtyard behind the hotel, and a lively lounge on the first floor and a jazz club on the second floor. One word of caution though, the restaurant on the second floor, Henrietta’s Table, is so popular that if you wait too long to head to breakfast, there is a long line to get in. The Charles Hotel is literally right in Harvard Square, and you can step out of the hotel door and be in the midst of all of the shops and restaurants. The room was immaculate, and the bathroom was large and beautifully tiled, with a TV set built behind the bathroom mirror to watch tv while getting ready in the morning.Great Location This hotel experience was fantastic.

. Must eat at the North End. Travelers tip on local attractions Use public transportation. A TV in the mirror of the bathroom. Comfortable and clean rooms.A Favorie Spot The hotel is located in the midst of Harvard Square and has several resturants, bars, shops, Jazz clubs, outdoor cafes on site and within walking distance.

. came up immediately to fix it(and this was about 10:30-11:00 at night), so we were very satisfied and would recommend the hotel. Battery in bathroom mirror-television was dead and someone from engineering dept. Concierge was very helpful, suggesting good restaurants both in Cambridge and Boston.Extremely comfortable, very convenient Very nice week-end stay.

. This hotel is surprisingly child friendly, with one exception: the (very nice) pool is open to children for only VERY limited hours, during prime nap time for toddlers.Excellent hotel This hotel is clean, extremely comfortable, and has a fabulous location.

. Beds scrumptious. They do want to sell you things, so bottled water, snacks, and similar things are carefully laid out, but cost $. Rooms very luxurious; television behind the bathroom mirror, your bathrobe laid out in the evening, and similar standard of service. Did not use the dining room, so canot comment. Fine quality of design, construction, and decoration. Close to the Yard and the Business School.Great hotel if you want to spend the money This hotel serves Harvard primarily.

Travelers tip on saving a few bucks Loads of good places to eat around the hotel, all budgets!... The hotel was OK, excellent location, but the room was too small, the four of us could hardly move.Good hotel but room far too small We stayed at Charles Hotel with our two kids.

The bathroom mirror TV was totally cool.Great place Great place to stay.

. Driving in the Boston area is crazy so park your car at the hotel and take advantage of the "T" to get around to all the sights in Boston. There are many great restaurants and shops within walking distance of the hotel. Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay The Charles Hotel is centrally-located in Cambridge, a few short blocks to Harvard Square, the COOP, and Harvard University. The hotel’s fitness center and pool are fabulous as well as Henrietta’s Table, the hotel restaurant.Great location, great hotel The rooms were very nice and the staff was very attentive.

. Food was excellent as well.Wonderful hotel and great location The rooms were great and it’s a wonderful location.

. Location was nicely located in Cambridge and within a short walking distance to the sites. Hotel desk, Concierge, Bellman, and every employee we encountered were very courteous and professional.Nice place to stay.

. My room had great views over the roofs and bell towers of the Harvard houses. The location is the best you could hope for. Staff are very attentive and the gym is large and well equipped. The rooms are very comfortable and thoughtfully detailed, including the TV hidden in the bathroom mirror. It is refreshing free of corporate themes and studied approaches. It has its own great character, a cross between northern european modern and shaker.Lovely, subtle, warm, perfect location This is not a chain hotel and it shows in delightful ways.

. Probably better places to stay where hours and such are more flexible. was bright and cheerful and the food was fairly good. Henrietta’s rest. We were not real impressed! Room was nice and the front desk friendly. On Sunday the pool opened for children from 10-12am. Arrived at checkin time and the pool was only open for "children" from 3-5pm then we were asked to leave for adult swim. Brought 3 children with me, no mention of the welcome "present" that supposively they were going to give the kids "to keep them entertained" during their stay. When I booked the room their site give the impression that it was a real "child" friendly place. Hotel less then expected. Loved the area, Harvard is beautiful and the shops and streets were lively and filled with college students.Better value elsewhere Looked forward to discovering a new section of Boston- Cambridge.

Trust me!... Pay the extra to stay here, your kids will like you close by and you will love the place... just down the street.. ever! Travelers tip on saving a few bucks If you are a HARVARD parent, this hotel works great.... Nice soft beds, a bose sound system, a stocked mini bar, great view, bathrobes, and a daily paper with NO bad news! Will I stay there again? Hell, I didn’t want to leave. I loved it and you will too... how cool is that,, From the wide flat screen to the mint shower gel... Now.. A TV in the mirror in the bathroom. NICE, NICE, NICE.. well just check into this hotel.. Ever dream about having the latest toys from best buy to play with...Better than my home.

. This is a great hotel for business and leisure travelers. Terrific, professional staff The decor, amenities and staff at the Charles are consistently impressive.A sophisticated, classy hotel.

. Nevertheless, we have always found the staff to be extremely accommodating and feel that these issues were probably just a glitch in the system this time. They repaired it immediately. And the TV needed service when we arrived - not a critical issue, but a little inconvenient. I did notice, however that there was mold in the shower, which was a bit bothersome. The beds are extremely luxurious and welcome after a long drive. Will return in the future We’ve stayed at the Charles Hotel several times and find the accommodations to be comfortable and the location perfect.

Lovely rooms and a fantastic exercise facility with a lap pool and jacuzzi! Don’t hesitate, book a room at this hotel and you won’t be disappointed!. Minutes from Boston just off the Charles river and right in the middle of Harvard Square.A real gem located in the heart of Harvard Square.
