. Travelers tip on local attractions Great golf courses and local shopping within walking distance. Location is fantastic. Very clean, very friendly staff.Great Property The Fairmont Kea Lani is a great property.

. We can’t wait to go back. The Kea Lani lives up to its name. They treated us like VIP’s even though we are just regular people on vacation. The food at all the restaurants was well prepared--just the way we wanted it. The room was clean and comfy. The staff was friendly and helpful.Perfection in Paradise From the moment we walked in to the time when we had to leave, our stay at the Kea Lani was perfection.

. Travelers tip on dining The food was VERY expensive so don’t hesitate to check out some places in and around the area. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone plannng a trip to Maui. The other perfect aspect of our stay was that we arrived the day after Labor Day so the place was empty. Everything from the room to the grounds to the staff were top notch.50th birthday in Maui This hotel was awesome! I am a fan of Fairmont Hotles, and this one did not let me down.

Make the short drive to Fred’s Tacos in Kihei-enjoy seafood tacos w/margaritas and lovely sunsets at the beach across the street!. We saved money & enjoyed dinners out. We ate bagels & pineapple on the lani and snacks/sandwiches for lunches. The kitchenette has a micro, fridge, several drawers, coffee maker. from hotel) and get drinks, snacks, breakfast/lunch foods. Stop at Costco(by airport)& Safeway(about 8 min. Even coming back from a large lua we didn’t wait more than ten minutes! Travelers tip on saving a few bucks Concierge has CDs for Hana. Leave your car at the hotel and take the complimentary car service to local (other resorts or Shops at Wailea)dining or luas.or just enjoy the crowd! Self park you car if you want to save $20 per day but be warned that the parking slots are narrow-back in for easier parking... Large families may get frustrated. We did notice that the kids pool area was very crowded and children were sent early in the morning to "reserve" rows of lounges around the kids pool. The resort was almost fully booked but we never felt crowded. When we told them where we were staying they said the snorkling right off our hotel beach(Polo Beach) was hard to beat! We agree! The service from check in to check out was wonderful and so accomodating. Lots of turtles and colorful fish! We took a snorkle trip out to Molikini and asked at the dive shop about other areas to snorkle. We snorkled right off the beach. The Ko Plantation restaurant had wonderful service and delicious food. Other reviews have said the furniture or hotel looks run down-it is located ON THE OCEAN! Nothing can look perfect for very long on the ocean! Our suite was beautiful, clean and spacious. We will stay here again! We spent our 20th anniversary here and loved it.

. Mini fridges in the room are a great way to save a few bucks. Save some money by hitting the Whalers General Store at the shops at Wailea. Travelers tip on saving a few bucks The resort is pretty expensive. Very nice place overall in a great part of the island. The rooms aren’t worth full price at the current quality. I probably would return even if they didn’t but at a lower price. We overall had a great time and will return as soon as the upgrade. The cabanas were great and the staff was wonderful. The grounds were great. The air condition didn’t work and finally after 3 calls to maintenance they offered to move us but we only had 2 nights left. The rooms are in desperate need of a renovation. Can’t wait until they update so I can return The overall resort is spectacular.

I really felt the staff went beyond making us feel welcomed! I feel I should have stayed longer so next time I will not only stay longer but request the same room !!. Our room was prefect with amazing views, we stayed in the deluxe ocean view suite. The Fairmont Kea Lani Ready To Go Back! I had a great stay with the Fairmont Hotel in Wailea, Maui.

We shall go back there in a heartbeat!. Lots of nice dining options abound. One of the best resorts in Maui We cannot say enough good things about the resort -- the pool and the beach are awesome, the staff are super friendly, and our suite was really cozy and comfortable.

. Great accomodation. Helpful emloyees. Great facility.Impressed Clean Towels and plenty.

. Can hardly wait to go back. It was an experience of a lifetime. We were all amazed when the dolphins stayed and swam with us the entire time we were there. The green turtles and the spinner dolphins came in. Shown the lava tubes and allowed to snorkle in 2 separate locations. We were taken on a fun, wet ride. The zodiac type raft held about 20 people and the guides were great. Travelers tip on recreational activities We did a snorkling trip with the Blue Water Company. We felt like we were part of the rich and famous gang and were delighted with our stay. Mornings by the pool we were presented with cool towels and pineapple slices. It seemed that we were continually asked if we needed anything or if there was something that the staff could do for us. Clean, modern and spacious. Our suite was wonderful. We were greeted with a cool drink and a flower lei while checking in.A Perfect Vacation Get A Way This was our first stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani and now can not imagine staying anywhere else while on Maui.

Other than that-perfect!. An overall 5, except for mustiness smell in room, slow daily maid service and limited reasonably priced snacks, etc. Found the small market/deli at the hotel to be convenient and somewhat reasonable. Everything was highly expensive. Ultimate venue for relaxation. Perfect location, relatively uncrowded during July 09.No need to leave The hotel was fantastic.

Other than that the quality of the hotel is fabulous!. Be prepared to spend all your money on food (or find alternate plans food-wise). It’s NOT cheap!!! Room service was ridiculously expensive as well as the restaurants. One problem. The views were breath taking and the resort is great.Wonderful My husband and I stayed at the Kea Lani for our honeymoon.

. Best thing I did to prepare for our first trip to Maui was read Frommer’s "Maui 2009".you can do it on your own and set your own pace), and riding the waves right on our hotel beach...we know we tried many!!! Travelers tip on local attractions Highlights of our trip - snorkeling at Molokini (loved the Four Winds Tour),ziplining (great experience with Eco-Adventures), biking down Haleakala (Bike-It-Maui was great), the Road to Hana (don’t bother with a guided tour... The Kea Lani also has the best Lava Flow (Strawberry Pina Colada) in Maui.but sign up as soon as you check in, they book up fast... Don’t miss out on the hotel’s free guided cayak ride/tour. Loved our balcony with a perfect view of ocean and the grounds. Our room was really nice and the bathroom was beautiful.not cheap but delicious and convenient... The deli at the hotel is a great place to get pizza and sandwiches for lunch. Skip the breakfast buffet (really pricy) especially if you prefer a light breakfast. My kids were 12 and 21 so they preferred the beach. If you have young kids the pool and water slide will be a hit. We upgraded to a deluxe ocean view from a partial ocean view once we saw what we’d be missing and it was totally worth the extra money. What a beautiful hotel and Wailea was the perfect resort area.A perfect vacation! Just got back from our 10 day stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani.

. Then splurge for a special dinner. for breakfast and lunch. Travelers tip on saving a few bucks To save money, stop at the nearby Safeway and get beer, wine, food etc. Furnature a little tired looking but that is the only thing I can think of that was not perfect. Suite room was large and comfortable and great bathroom. The restaurants were all good. Service was impeccable including someone who went around the pool with cool clothes for your forehead. There is an adult pool if you don’t have any children. The grounds were magnificent.Beautiful! We loved this resort and would not hesitate to go back.

. Even the next beach north at the Grand Palisades seems to have somewhat calmer waters, and it was worth walking up there a couple of times with the kids to be on that beach for exactly this reason. There are other parts of Maui, for example when we visited Napali Kai northwest of Lahaina, where the water is much calmer even in windy weather. The downside of this hotel is that it was quite windy for the duration of our stay, with the main drawback being that the waves on the beach made it somewhat unpalatable to be there with 5-year olds (except very near the shore), and that it sometimes disturbed the underlying coral and fish with some choppy waters while snorkeling. I ended up swimming several times a day after that as well, sometimes with the kids in the pool, sometimes snorkeling by myself out in the ocean. At the Fairmont, all I had to do was to slip on my sandals and my swimming trunks and walk a few yards to a beautiful unoccupied (at 6 AM) pool that was perfect for lap swimming, and the weather was just wonderful. For me, this was heaven, as I have a routine each morning at home to go lap swimming early in the morning before the family wakes up, and this takes some effort as I have to drive to and from the pool and it is usually pretty cold (not the pool, the weather).Good facilities and hotel for swimming -- somewhat rough ocean for little ones I’m a swimmer with a family including 5-year old twins.

Travelers tip on dining Nick’s and Ko are both great places to eat!. I will stay at this resort whenever I visit Maui. I like to sleep with the ceiling fan on and the fan in our room (which we had two) moved incredibly slowly. :) The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the ceiling fans. The water slide is great. The restaurants are amazing. The staff was always helpful and courteous. The staff always referred to me with my new married name, which I loved. It is the best hotel/resort we have ever visited.Honeymoon We stayed in this hotel for our Honeymoon.

. Restaurants good too.wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else! Travelers tip on local attractions Shopping in Lahaina was terrific, nice drive... I hope to be going back in Jan/Feb. The room was great, view was unbelievable, and service was wonderful. No contest. We stayed 4 days on Oahu and 4 days at the Fairmont. They had never been to Hawaii before, and they loved it. This time I took my parents for their 58th anniversary. The first was with my husband.Dream Come True This was my second stay at the Fairmont.

First Class Resort Fantastic service; beautiful resort!.

. There’s plenty of quiet and calm space for the grown-ups, including an adults only pool. And even though it’s a great family hotel, it’s not too disneyland-esque, if that makes sense. The staff is very kind and accomodating, the pool and beach area are great, and the restaurants are "kid friendly" (though not "wallet" friendly).Great resort hotel for families The Fairmont Kea Lani Maui is a great hotel for families.

. The waiter kept adding the things which we thought were free but when he brought the bill, there was a charge for everthing even a slice of avacado which we didnt eat was for $2. The place is a rip off. Please stay away from Cheese burger Island Style restaurant. The food is also very expensive in Maui. The sofa looked quite old as well as the carpet. The rooms need real upgrading. The only thing we were disappointed with was the cleaniness of the hotel. The beach is nice and not too crowded. The hotel has beautiful garden with fountain and a two pools one for adult and one kids. I booked a mountain/garden view suite, which the hotel upgraded to a partial ocean view suite. The staff gave us a nice welcome on our arrival. Just 30 min drive from the airport. The hotel is located in very nice section of Maui.Nice location & beautiful Garden but room need upgrading We stayed 3 nights @ Fairmont.

Can’t wait to go back *.

. The service was still great at the Kea Lani, but the it didn’t have the feel of other Fairmonts. There were also many kids at the Kea Lani, which is why we didn’t stay at the resort next door. We went to eat at Spago and that resort is where we will stay next time , although my teenagers thought it looked too boring. Yes, the rooms are suites but they look the same as they did 9 years ago last time we stayed. The Kea Lani is sitll a great hotel, but we would not stay there again until it is updated.....Kea Lani is still great but.

. The burgers were the worst burgers that we have ever had and the waitress was rude and unfriendly. We had lunch the first day of our stay. Just stay away from Cheeseburger Island Style restaurant. We also enjoyed our lunch at Tommy Bahama’s Tropical Cafe in Wailea. Cafe O’lei in Kihei had great food at a reasonable price. Caffe Ciao Deli which is on the hotel property has great turkey sandwiches for $10. Travelers tip on dining Finding great food at a reasonble price can be a challenge in Maui. This is not a five star hotel but I can give it a four. We were able to sign up for a canoe ride on our last day of our stay and we really enjoyed the ride. The canoe rides get booked really quickly. The hotel offers free activities like yoga classes and short canoe rides. If you sign up for the presidential club, you can have free access to the internet. No coin is needed. There are washers and dryers on the property that came really handy. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The beach is relatively small but not too crowded. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Although, we found a small cockroach the first day in our room, but the room was clean, spacious, and well equipped with a mini refrigerator and microwave. The property is well maintained and clean. We were pleasantly surprised by the lei greeting and a welcome drink. The resort is located in Wailea on Maui which is very lovely. This was our first stay at the Fairmont and we enjoyed it..A pleasant stay.

.this may be the only bargain in Maui...they refill it once for your cup... Travelers tip on saving a few bucks When you get coffee at the coffee shop in the morning. The swim up bar was fun and Nicks Fish Market was one of the best seafood restaurants we have eaten at.The best place to stay in Maui with Kids! What can we say, great pools, huge rooms, friendly staff, and a wonderful beach.

. Travelers tip on saving a few bucks Save a few bucks and opt for a partial view suite and eat at other locations rather than the hotel. If you are on a budget you cannot afford to eat at the resort. Suites are nice but over priced. If you are interested in exploring the island and finding reasonable places to eat this is not the hotel for you.Not for first time visitor to Hawaii Hotel is definitely a resort and spa.

. Top choice for my next stay in Wailea." The heated pools were beautiful and gave the stones throw away beach a run for it’s money. The restaurants at the hotel made it worth "staying in. The rooms and facilities were large, appealing and very clean.Highly recommended This hotel is situated in Wailea, one of the most beautiful parts of Maui.
