. The staff was exceptionally pleasant and made an extra effort to be helpful.
The bar and restaurant area and outside patio were very nice and the food was delicious.Very charming hotel.
Served its purpose
it was good, nothing to add.
. Simply spectacular. This quaint little bistro serves contemporary American cuisine.

The New Rivers Bistro is definately worth checking out while you are in Providence. I would stay here again if I ever get back to Providence. Beds were comfortable. It is an older building but seemed to be well maintained and the room was clean.Nice Place to Stay
Cute hotel, lots of character.
. Location was not quite as centrally placed as we would have liked to many of the downtown Providence activities, given that there was a torrential downpour the night of our stay. Restaurant had a varied, delicious menu and the bar was great.Lovely European style hotel
Accommodations were very much like a small European hotel.
.A very nice place in town
Small but pretty comfortable.
. The bed was wonderful and I loved the fact that they provided so many pillows! Id definitely recommend this hotel and plan to stay there again.Excellent experience
Extremely clean, quiet, and comfortable room.
. Cozy spot with a great selection of fine tobaccos, premium bourbons and ports. Id also recommend Cigarmasters for libations and smokes after dinner. The food, wine list, service and ambiance are excellent.

Take time for an evening at Hemenways Seafood Grill. Minor perhaps, but if youre touting four star accommodations, this shouldnt happen. That said, we stayed in our suite for three nights, during that time, it wasnt vacuumed once, and room service trays sat in the hallway outside our room for 24 to 36 hours. The concierge and valet services were excellent. The room was nicely appointed, and the common areas and restaurant were clean and welcoming.Anniversary in Providence
In general the hotel is in great condition, and I would recommend it to friends.

Have a meal at the restaurant in the hotel, very good breakfast. Wish I could have stayed longer. I was very impressed.Wow!
This is an amazing hotel, from the comfy bed, to the great restaurant on the firt floor.
. Beautiful downtown architecture all around. We would definitely stay again. Front desk very apologetic, and said they had never had a complaint before, so seemed to be just a worn out bottom sheet. Bottom sheet too small, kept bunching up. Only problem - sheets on bed were really uncomfortable.Nice hotel - great art, downtown location
lovely hotel in downtown providence - great art, near RISD and Brown.
. It has a wonderful village feel, and people are very welcoming.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay
Visit the small areas of the town. Restaurant overpriced, not exceptional. I would return but ask to see the room prior to occupancy. Room smelled musty, dust balls in the corners, sink clogged, carpet in need of cleaning. And still, the room we were in was tidy but not that clean.00 and is very loud in the hallway to ensure everyone is up and out evidently.Boutique hotel, room needs good cleaning
Charming hotel, nice staff, friendly service, maid service bangs on door starting at 8.
. If we drove, we would have left the next day. We flew there, so we had no choice but to wait for our flight. Couldnt wait to leave Providence and will NEVER go back again. The only bright spot in this horrible vacation was our day trip to Newport. The streets were deserted, it felt like a ghost town.nothing to do at all.........

Providence itself, BORING, BORING, BORING. We went to the manager, and he told her to serve us. only complaint was when we got there at 10:15pm, we went to have a drink at the bar and the bartendar told us the bar is closed, even though there were four people still at the bar.Great hotel, boring town
The hotel was great, very clean.
. Getting back at 4:30 in the afternoon to find our room not made up was not a good thing - maid service was terrible.Great hotel - bad service
Too bad - a nice hotel in a great part of town - the waitress at breakfast was missing in action and horrible - a complaint to the manager turned into a free breakfast.
Nice place to relax
Central location close to attractions makes for easy access to enterainment and good dining
Travelers tip on nightlife
The university district has many attractions especially over the weekend.
. Cot was flimsy and uncomfortable - told me this was standard fare while I had imagined a reasonable sofabed. Cot was supplied after midnight (+2 hours) from offsite location because hotel had run out of beds. Arrived late, as scheduled, jr suite had no suite furniture.Junior suite with no extra sofa bed
Reserved junior suite.
. We would go back there again without a doubt. We did take a walk in the area and felt like maybe we werent in the best part of town, but nothing bad happened.Really nice hotel
Our room was both very beautiful and comfortable.
The restaurant next door was great for both dinner and breakfast! Would definitely go there again.Great service and friendliness
Hotel was beautifully decorated, all staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
. But, its all very beautiful. Some hallways are a bit convoluted. Our room required going up a small set of stairs, so had to lug our suitcases up. We got a great rate from Expedia. Very convenient to all of the city. Bed extremely comfortable.Loved It
Very quaint and nicely appointed room.
. Also, Hemenways has wonderful seafood, though its completely mobbed on Waterfire nights.
Travelers tip on dining
Cuban Revolution has great, cheap Cuban food and drinks, and is right around the corner. Also, the maid ignored the service time requested, and tried to service the room while I was getting ready to check out--why couldnt she wait until I left? But the other staff (front desk, valets, restaurant folks) were friendly and helpful, and the location was great in terms of its proximity to Waterfire, Trinity Rep, restaurants, and RISD. And despite signs indicating free valet parking for the restaurant, be warned: Theres a steep $25/day fee for parking at the hotel. The stairwell was lovely but unbearably hot (no air conditioning there), making it unpleasant to walk down the stairs. The jazz band played VERY LOUDLY in the outdoors courtyard until 11 pm, making it impossible to turn in early. No washcloths were provided in the bathroom, and the toiletries werent the ones mentioned in a Boston Magazine write-up. The phone didnt work, though I didnt discover it until I tried to call the valet. The devils in the details
Hotel Providence presents itself as a luxury hotel, but it fell short during my weekend stay.
. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Providence. The area it is located in has galleries and nice architecture. Its not cookie-cutter.Hotel with character--not just a chain
This hotel had all the amenities one would expect from a good hotel, but it has character and some charm.
. It is home of the $12 martini (and not worth it). Restaurant at Hotel Providence, Aspire, way overpriced, so I would steer clear. Food excellent and good value. excellent, but very hot, no AC so that made dinner a little less enjoyable... Also, ate at Pot au Feu . Fun watching the executive chef keep his wat staff in line and getting orders out when they were hot.

We ate at Cafe Nuovo, which was excellent. WiFi signal was very weak so we used the ethernet cable, which worked perfectly. Room was a little small, but immaculate and well appointed. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Providence. Staff was very cordial and helpful. We felt the Hotel was an excellent value, near major sights, attractions and restaurants. Out car was keyed in the valet parking garage, too, and ouir room view was of the dumpster and parking lot, but someone has to look at that and I suppose, for the price we paid, we shouldnt complain. There were some leaky ceilings, so we had to sidestep a few pails en route to the elevator. But, the Hotel was an oasis of comfort and elegance. The surrounding area (not Westminster Street) but the more transitional streets wsere filled with panhandlers and scary types.WONDERFUL LITTLE HOTEL
Surprising Hotel Providence Offers Great Respite from a somewhat seedy neighborhood We loved the Hotel, despite the ride there, which was a little scary.
.Nice room
Staff very knowledgeable and helpful in recommending sites, restaurants, etc.
.but suggested I could go across the street and get one (perfect when I am in my PJs)... I called housekeeping because I lost my toothbrush somewhere along the trip and the didnt have any. My husbands room was so noisy I woke up mulitple times to noises.but dont plan on sleeping in these rooms..Paper thin walls
First of the place "looks" amazing.
. There is something there for everyone and it is just a short drive from the hote. This was my favorite hotel during my trip to Rhode Island!

If you are enjoy cooking (or eating!) the Culinary Arts Museum and Johnson Wales University is a fun place to visit. The hotel location was ideal -- within walking distance (if you like to walk) to shops and restaurants as well as to Federal Hill, the mall, and the historic district. The rooms were elegant with a lot of extras and the beds were extremely comfortable! The fitness center was well-equipped. Valet parking staff were also friendly and helpful.
The service at Hotel Providence was great, especially from the staff at the front desk, who were very helpful in giving directions to sightseeing in RI.Great place to stay.
Great hotel in providence
Hotel was clean, the rooms very comfortable, nice furniture, highly recommend.
. Overall, a good stay for 3 nights. The food in the restaurant is so-so, but this was the case for most restaurants I visited in Providence. The staff is friendly. Room is not too big, but enough. Hotel is clean and elegant.Good and clean hotel in center of town
Walkable to many things in providence.
