    Excellent place to stay

Near the most beautiful beaches in Maui. Incredible view of the sea (from my unit). Very comfortable room with nice decoration and furniture. Overall an excellent experience. Only downside: they clean every 3 days but the floor would have required more frequent vacuuming (sand, etc).

    Great alternative to hotels

It was a very pleasant stay in Maui. The condo was spacious, clean and it was quiet and private. The unit had a deck overlooking the golf course with the ocean and the island of Lanai in the background. It was quite a hike up from the shopping center but good exercise for the heart. We cooked fresh fish every night and saved tons of money.

Travelers tip on saving a few bucks

Load up at Costco when you get your rental car and you are set for the week. They have BBQ grills but you need match-lite charcoal.

    great location

This condo was very convenient-had great ocean views- quiet and within walking distance to the beach. It was the perfect getaway vacation for our family of 5 adults. We had maid service daily and the only problem was since the adjoining condo needed work, the water was shut off 4 hours one day(9-1) and after 9am on our last day which the main reservation desk was not aware of. We requested a later check-out but the water was still off after 3:00pm. We would go back again , if we have the chance.

NO need to bring beach towels as the condo provides the towels and washer/dryer available-- takes up too much space in the suitcase- August is warm and humid so best time to go to the beach or play tennis is before 10:00am-- the tradewinds pick up after 12 noon so the waves get rougher. Go to Costco before checking to condo to pick-up water and other groceries for the week-- if have room in the rental car.Get souvenirs at Costco before going home -

    A Wonderful Value

While not for everyone, the Wailea Ekolu Village is a perfect setting for those willing to do it themselves on some matters. Basically condo owners lease their condos back to the hotel, when they’re not using them. The vacationer gets a fully furnished, fully equipped condo. You’re responsible for your own cleaning in the condo (but the necessities are supplied for this). Or you can pay an extra daily fee to have the hotel’s staff clean the room. As I said, not for everyone, as some people on vacation don’t want to be bothered by anything. And while the place is a bit pricy (although not as much as a resort in the major resort areas) you can also save money by cooking as many of your own meals in the kitchen as you want.

    Left with good memories

Responsive management. Have last minute accomodation request which was honored. Nicely kept grounds. Good place for someone who wants to relax in quiet place. Our had a magnificent view. Walking distance to shopping center and the beach.

    Travelers tip on shopping

Shopping steps away, as well as dinning.

    Quiet and relaxing location

We stayed at this resort for just under a week and it was a very enjoyable place to be located. The condos that are offered are very nice and clean inside as well as very comfortable. Should you encounter any of the staff they are super friendly. This resort is set back about 1 mile from the beaches in Wailea and therefore the location is ideal if you are looking for a very quiet and relaxing time. Highly recommended and would return there on my next trip.

    Travelers tip on shopping

Stock up at Costco on your way out of the airport for some good deals for the family.

    Extremely Pleasant

Very nice condos as advertised. Starting to show some age but my wife and I have very high standards and were not disappointed. Gorgeous view of ocean and golf course. The walking convenience to shops, tennis, hotels, and beach is a major plus.

    Good and clean

The hotel was good and clean. The rooms were clean, the housekeeping came to change the towels and sheets daily. The A/C worked well. The view was beautiful and the overall location was very quiet.

Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay

Wailea/Makena has beautiful beaches and spectacular snorkeling, you just need to be prepared to walk a good distance to them or rent a car and drive. Food can be very expensive at the restaurants, but I recommend checking out the local grocery stores. They often have excellent food at reasonable prices--plus, if you are staying in a condo with a stove and fridge, you can cook many of your own meals and save money for recreation rather than eating!

    Beautiful Resort

Our condo was beautiful with an ocean view. We had bananas growing right outside our balcony. The resort was quiet with very nice swimming pools. We were completely happy!

Tip for families with small children- some of the condos have only showers and no bathtubs. Be very specific in your needs, since all of the condos are different. The ground floor may be the best location since the balconies are not as high- but still completely contained and may still have a view.

Grand Champions Resort - nice room

The room had a 42" plasma, and a shower about 6feet square with 2 shower heads. Mostly decorated in Pier1 / Asian style - very nice. Kitchen was well equiped and more functional than our own. You have to drive to the beaches - which are spectacular - and you need to find out where to park; although all beaches on Maui are public, some of the hotels are built to restrict access to them by not allowing parking. Weather was great. Swimming with Turtles & diving at Molokini memorable.

Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay

Beaches that are ’parks’ have public parking. Big Beach is unspoilt and big enough that it was never crowded (about 3-4 miles south of the resort)

    Worked well for us

We were a three-generation group--me, my 24 year old daughter, my oldest daughter, her husband, and 18 month old. Our unit was very quiet and air conditioned. The layout lent itself well to our group, or two couples traveling together, since each bedroom had its own full bath. We had our own grill on our lanai, which was handy, and DVR. There was a warning in the unit about an ant invasion in Maui, but we never saw a single one. We never had trouble parking our two cars. One complaint--the carpet needed cleaning. The custom of removing shoes actually leaves carpet dirtier if you don’t wear socks. The baby’s soles were filthy from walking on the carpet.

    Travelers tip on shopping

The largest Safeway in the state is in the Kihei area, on your right as you drive down from the airport in Kahului. If you arrive before the 3:00 pm check-in (not flexible) stop for some lunch and then do your first grocery shopping.

Great value and a great place to stay if your looking for a more quiet experience.

Only one complaint, the dishwasher did not work. The location regarding proximity to beaches, shopping, and restaurants was good. The quite setting made for a peaceful stay. Would go back for another stay.

A condo with a complete kitchen is a great option to managing your food budget. Overall, the restaurants in Maui are spendy and the food,at best, is okay. The grocery stores usually run competitive ads and pricing and if you shop the specials, your foodbill is not much more than what you would pay back in the mainland.

    Exceptional Views

This condo had all the amenities of home. Very nicely decorated with 2 bathrooms. The views were SPECTACULAR with views of golf course, ocean sunsets and Molokini. Assess to very basic pool facilities but no hot tub. The unit had no deadbolt which was my only safety concern as a realtor entered unit while I was in the unit and preparing to take a shower before going out on a Friday evening at 6:30 PM.

Travelers tip on saving a few bucks

Drive into Kehei for meals that won’t break your budget. Lots of exceptional sushi near the hotel. Supermarkets in Kehei. Shops at Wailea are where you check in and offer high end shopping like Louis Vuitton, Tommy Bahama, etc.

    Way more than we expected!!!

My wife and I booked this package online and I selected this location solely based on other reviews and of course price. At the last minute I almost changed it to a hotel for more money. When we arrived I was flat out stunned. These are condos worth nearly a million dollars. Ours had two full baths, a full kitchen with stainless fridge, every pot, pan and whatever you would need to cook bake and entertain. Room service was fast and never intrusive. The view out our window was to die for. The pictures online, do it no justice. Its also like 1/2 mile from a beautiful outdoor mall. We are already planning to go back and stay here again!

Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay

There are brochures everywhere on what and where to do. Don’t pay anyone to snorkel! Go to Lahaina ,rent gear for 5 bucks and snorkel on black rock beach. Tropical fish swimming everywhere, coral and sea turtles! The ATV trip was awesome. The trip to Hanna was a 11 hours in a van. Should have drove ourselves and saves $400. The Feast at Le Le in Lahaina was woth the trip alone! A true Hawaiian experience.

Better than a Hotel any day

I rely on the reviews when selecting a hotel/condo and this was the only one that was a 5. After staying there I can see why. Condo has everything you need.

Travelers tip on saving a few bucks

There’s a Costco near the Airport. Stock up on water and food. We had breakfast every morning on our large balcony watching whales. You can also clearly see Molokini.

    Upscale without the Upsell!!!!!!

A very nice facility. Had a few problems with a toilet but staff was extremely prompt, helpful and courteous. Definitely a pleasant suprise as to what was expected, but we didn’t have the liberty of all the new reviews. This place is a steal of a deal.

    Travelers tip on dining

The general store at Hailemaile (excuse the spelling) hands down the best dining on Maui and a suprise of a deal as well. Get Cupon from Concierge.

    Honeymoon in paradise

My husband and I loved our condo (unit 1703) and recommend it highly. We were there for 10 days in November and had a great experience. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our private lanai and secluded garden walkout. The condo was spacious with a large bedroom, two full bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, a dining area and spacious family room with a large TV, DVD/VCR and cable. There was also a TV with DVD/VCR in the bedroom. There were two electric grills on the lanai along with a table and chairs where we enjoyed our am coffee and a few evening meals. The community was very quiet and the grounds were immaculate! We were a short drive from spectacular beaches, shopping, golf, and restaurants. If you want a quiet, relaxing place to stay--this is it. The only improvement they could have made was putting glass in the windows--in true Hawaiian style, they did not have windows, but had wooden shutters with screens. There were window AC units, but we never needed them. The shutters allow for privacy, but don’t block a lot of noise. Since the community was so quiet, this wasn’t an issue for us. We would love to go back!

Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay

The Gazebo restaurant (bkfst/lunch only) in Kapalua has great prices, great food, & huge portions. Great spot for whalewatching. Worth the drive! The PuPu Lounge in Kehei is awesome! Prices are great, food is delicious. Stella Blue’s in Kehei is delicious. Don’t miss the Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour, Old Lahaina Luau, Pacific Whale Foundation Molokini snorkel cruise, Nakalele blowhole, Olivine Pools, Road to Hana, & Makena Beach. Sunrise atop Haleakala is beautiful, but told sunset is better.
