Extremely nice room
. But everything else was perfact. The bed in the room however was very uncomfortable!! Sleep on the couch. The area around us was quiet and clean. Really nice people and the rooms are very clean.Great Customer Service
I would recommend this hotel.
.or grab some stuff from the grocery store and cook up their favorites in your room....
several family style restaurants within minutes form the hotel. friendly and helpful staff, extremely clean and easy to get to.Awesome hotel
quiet, out of the way, small hotel.
. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone i know and i will be visiting again!
Travelers tip on local attractions
Very close to all the local attraction, great place to stay just outside the mainstream hustle and bustle. The hotel all in all was great. (concert at the college and kayaking in la jolla) The staff we all very friendly and the condition of the hotel was exceptional, and i couldnt beat the price! I was expecting a dive for what i paid per night, and i was extremely mistaken. Saw this place was very close to all the places i planned to be over my stay. Will visit again!
Went down to San Diego for only a weekend.
oh yah like two years ago we had people come here and made food ,,,,ANYWAY i would not go back to that hotel
Travelers tip on dining

Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay
We were only 15 minutes from the downtown area and near the highway, close to the racetrack at Del Mar, and it was easy to drive up the coast for a relaxing time along the ocean. It was our first visit to San Diego and it was great to stay there. The restaurant was good and there was an outside eating area too, and a nice pool. The hotel is not close to downtown but that is what we wanted. When we had noise above us and called the desk, it was taken care of immediately. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable.Big and comfortable room
The Woodfin was located in a quiet area and was neat and clean.
Definitelly recommend it!
Travelers tip on recreational activities
Lajolla beaches, Torrey Pines golf course. Depending on the room you book you get breakfast, and it is totally worth it, specially if you have kids going along. Also in the lobby they have available a couple of workstations with printers (and free of charge), so that you can print maps, tickets, whatever. Wireless is available in the lobby.00 day/use. Internet is available in the room for a $6. The room has an office desk. Its very clean, rooms were comfortable and spacious.Excellent hotel, easy access, great breakfast
This is an excellent hotel.
. I will not hesitate to stay again when I return to San Diego. The room was great, and the service was wonderful.Fantastic Hotel
I cant say enough nice things about this hotel.
. Only negative thing, housekeeping didnt speak english and had to ask for basics several times.West Coast Vacation
Great place to stay with kids.
Room 363 needs an update!!
Stay at this hotel if you do not have cleaning issues. Then I figure it out that maybe that was the way they were thought to clean. I even said the maid that we would leave the room so she could vacuum the carpets, by the time i got to the elevator she was done. Obviously nothing happened!! Then I asked Stephanie front desk clerk again, and she answer me Of course, if they do not clean it properly let me know, Well guess what?? the next morning I was at the room when the maid came and did the same, made beds and leave towels. After a couple days I asked the front desk if they could let know housekeeping that our room need it to be cleaned thoroughly and that included vacuum the carpets. The maid would came in, made the bed, folded towels (sometimes not even that) and left. The cleaning during our stay was so poor, that it would really surprise me to know they have any cleaning procedures. Sadly there was one department whose performance was less than acceptable, considering every one else did what they were supposed to do, it is a big shame that they ruin everything. d)Restaurant staff courteous and prompt. c)Food was really good, taste, presentation and prices. b)Hotel public areas were in good conditions in matters of cleaning and maintenance.Everything was good, except housekeeping
First that all I will start with the good things: a)The front desk staff was excellent, friendly, accommodating and helpful.
. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would go back again. My only nit (very minor) is that they didnt have a portable crib available for our son, but we managed to work around it. I forgot my iphone charger at home and while they didnt have extras to borrow, the manager offered up to charge through his computer. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room (1br suite) was larger than we had expected and was very clean. This is essential if you have a young child who sleeps lightly.) nearby but that turned out to be a blessing in disguise because the noise from the outside was nonexistent., restaurants, stores, etc.g. At first we were concerned by the limited number of services (e. We picked this one because of its location (easy access to most places).Worthy of serious consideration
My family and I moved from San Diego several years ago so we were familiar with the area but never stayed at a hotel.
. But if you are looking for a nice hotel at a decent rate, this one works. If you are looking for close proximity to the attractions, this is not it. Although located in a large business area, it was nice to get away from the chaos of hotel circle and downtown. Comfortable room and quite.Good Hotel to get away from things
The hotel was just about everything they said it was.
. I would not call this a three star hotel!
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay
Ive stayed at other hotels west of I-5 and found it easier to get around. The location is too far to drive through rush hour traffic to the beach towns. There was traffic noise (its off a main street). We called the front desk and were given another room but it was the same (dirty looking linens too). They had hair and wrinkles in the sheets and pillow cases. The first room that we were given had bed linens that didnt look clean. It had odors in the hallways and outdated and dirty looking carpet.Dated needs remodel!
We were disappointed because the hotel was older and rundown compared to the picture on the web site.
.Great stay at the Woodfin San Diego
From the time we checked in and received a complimentary upgrade, we were very happy with everything about our stay at the Woodfin.
. The only downside was no room service. Wonderful location, restaurants and shops close by. Great for families and pet lovers. Staff very friendly and helpful, even printed out directions to places we wanted to go to. Early check in was not a problem. Great hotel. The main reason I picked this hotel was because of our puppy. Family of 4 and a puppy.Overall experience was wonderful! Would recommend!
Stayed at the Woodfin during our last vacation to San Diego.
. I would definately stay there again. Overall, it was pretty clean and in a nice area, everyone was friendly and the price was reasonable. I had to ask for extra towels everyday because they never left enough for 4 people and 1 time I had to call twice as they never showed up the first time. Service was good for the most part. The bed was comfortable. The grill had great food. The lobby was beautiful and there was a little store for items you might have forgotten. The rest of the hotel was great. The carpet looked like it hadnt been steam cleaned for quite some time if ever and was really worn. The tv volume wasnt working right and was rigged to get it to work. They need to update the tvs and the carpet. Overall the stay was great.Great for the price
We took a family vacation and decided to stay there for a few days.
. I felt like they really wanted us to enjoy our stay.
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stay
Keep in touch with the front desk. I would stay here again. The suite felt very spacious. It was nice having a kitchen. Our room was quiet and the bed was comfortable.00 a day for internet as many hotels in San Diego charge a lot more. I didnt mind the $6. They also took a restaurant charge off our bill to make up for the inconvenience. They were very nice about it, sending someone to our room immediately. I had to call the front desk to request shampoo and toilet paper. And, for some reason, they never replaced empty shampoo bottles or toilet paper. The bathroom floor, mirror, kitchen didnt look like theyd been touched. It looked like they came in, made the bed, folded the towels (or gave us clean ones, and left. The cleaning during our stay was not great. In the second room, everything worked. We had to move, which is always a pain. After checking in to one room, we discovered the air-conditioning didnt work and neither did the shower. The only complaint we had was with housekeeping and maintenance. The front desk staff was great.Overall we were pleased
This is a nice hotel and was very convenient for us as we were visiting family in La Jolla (10 minute drive).
Cheaper than the competition, but they provide a nice atmosphere, clean rooms and your standard anemities.
. Price is reasonable, I think. Close to Qualcomm but a few miles from the La Jolla village center and UCSD. Some smell in the hallway, but not in the room.Good hotel
Clean and comfortable room at least for the night I stayed.
. I loved the neighborhood, which seemed much safer than other hotel neighborhoods we have stayed in, in the past.Nice Place
This hotel was close enough to the attractions in San Diego to be convenient, and far enough away to be "quiet".
. There was a big kitchen for cooking meals.
The suite that we stayed in was great for a family with children. The staff helped with everything we needed, and print off direction for my husband and I.Very impressed!!!
I love the hotel and staff.
Travelers tip on shopping
The hotel gift shop had some gorgeous and unusual gifts.and we used the pool everyday.... The rooms were perfect with a small kitchen and the hotel restaurant was excellent. We will definately book again
This hotel is a little gem.
. We got a good price for a beautiful hotel. The location was a little far from the whole SeaWorld, Campland area where we were visiting, but for a 10 min drive, it was worth it. This was our first time there and our family was very impressed.Beautiful hotel!
The Woodfin got very good reviews and for good reason.
. This was a great place for families that are on a tight budget. The kids even had microwave popcorn. We made dinner, went swimming, and then watched two movies each night for free. After an all day trip at the zoo we came back to our room and relaxed.Home Away From Home
My family and I enjoyed the two bedroom suite.
. The TVs could use updating, but the rest of the features were nice.Great Service
Great service, fantastic staff, nice rooms.
