Lobby staff needs more trainingWe liked the hotel rooms, restaurant, cleanliness, and maintenance. They were kind enough to allow an early checkin and store our luggage the next day until our flight time, but we had difficulty making contact with the person who arranges the New York tours because he is also the shuttle driver and gone most of the time. The lobby personel were either uninformed or disinterested in helping with this problem.
Travelers tip on diningThe in-hotel restaurant is good and reasonably priced.Rating:5
Really Good Airport HotelWe spent our first and last nights of our trip at this hotel because of its proximity to the airport. We were very pleased with the decor of the room, the nice linens, the well appointed bathroom. Returning to the hotel on our last night, we got totally lost because of poor signage and road construction. Beware.
Travelers tip on saving a few bucksWe took the train from the Newark airport into NYC. Easy and inexpensive.Rating:4
OK...everything is ok except the location it is really hard to find the entrance I spent an hour driving around the airport and asked several people, every one told me the wrong way...
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayThis hotel used to be the Ramada Newark Airport and changed the name to Wyndham, so most GPS can not find the location if you search Wyndham, try Ramada. There are so many forks, must be very careful when you drive...Rating:4
just finegood pizza from the hotel restaurant. pleasant enough, not too noisy.Rating:4
This was a good deal , the place offered great serviceI enjoyed my stay you cant beat the price for the location. Staff was very helpful, offer directions and tips for not paying extras to get to the city. The food & beverage service was also and excellent addition to my stay. Will come back for sure!
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayUse there free trans[portation service to and from the Airport, additionally with a family you can also get a connection into the city on the path train. It was safe and the kids had fun.Rating:5
A very good valueThe parknfly option worked very well for us. The room was comfortable and spacious. The only negative thing was that my daughter found the bed too firm; I liked it fine.
Travelers tip on diningThe hotel restaurant was fine, and moderately priced.Rating:3
Good for the moneyThe room was clean and the staff was friendly. My only gripe was that the drop ceiling in the bathroom over the tub was loose. I asked for my room to be changed and i encountered the same problem. I probably wont stay there again.Rating:4
Comments on Wyndham EWR1. Extremely difficuly to get to if coming from the south. 2. Fronts on very dangerous route. If you have to get ot the airport corssing over the many lanes is diffucult, especially with cars coming at extremely fast speeds. 3.Fuse blew in workout room and was not fixed for many hours. 4. Soda machine broken for days. 5. People who own restaurant are very nice. Restaurant is open very late which is excellet for late arrivals since there is no place to eat within walking distance.
Travelers tipIf you do not have a car you are stuck since there is no saide walk to anywhere. If you have a car make sure you know how to get there. It is etremely difficult not only getting there but also getting in and out of the hotel.Rating:4
Enjoyed our stayWe were treated very kindly and the staff was very helpful. The last night we were there the air conditioning wasnt functioning properly. They offered to let us change rooms, although we declined because of leaving early the next morning, and it was already rather late.
Travelers tipThe only negative is the motel is difficult to find if you are driving so make sure to call and get directions from the motel(GPS was not very helpful)Rating:4
Very good quality for price. Was a very good hotel for the price. We were very pleased with our stay.Rating:4
Great Hotel and easy accessibility to Newark AirportHotel does not look very nice from the outside but the inside is nice. The rooms are very nice and equipped with all the luxuries one would need. Lots of pillows and comfortable beds, decent sized bathroom and very well furnished. Nice upgraded accessories throughout the room. The restaurant leaves a lot to be desired, the service was horrible and the food mediocre, but the people in the bar seemed to be having a grand time! One can order their meal in the bar and watch the TV monitors while they eat- we should have done that. Such great access to the Newark Airport with a shuttle every 20 minutes that takes one directly to the airtrain. Very convenient and very nice.
Travelers tip for business travelersGreat hotel to stay at if just over night at the Newark Airport. Convenience, good price, and great amenities. A very quiet place for a night of rest.Rating:4
It was fine because it was close to the airport and that is what we were looing forWe came in late and it would have been nice to have a resturant open so we could get a little somethingRating:4
Good ValueI was lucky and able to get a great rate on a room at the last minute for a short overnight, since my flight was at 6 am from the airport. My only complaint was the length of time it took to get from the airport to the hotel. But the room was nice and the front desk staff, friendly.Rating:3
It was Ok to niceHotel itself had very nice rooms. Stayed with kids also. rooms did not have microwayes or small fridges (my fault for not looking into the amenities). Some housekeeping staff were hard to understand. They have a small landry room but it did the job to save me money on cleans our clothes. restruant seemed very over prices for what they were offering and not places close to walk to to eat. receptionist was very nice and gave us very good advice about taking their free shuttler to airport and taking the train from there into New York. It was a fun experience but on the way back everyone wa waiting for this hotel shuttle and it got packed right away (it was by no means a small van, it was more like a large airport shuttle, short of a bus) guess this was a popular hotel. Only true complaint is location, it is right off the expressway and people are speeding by very fast, had hard time turning onto the road, woud stay there again if I got a better price.
Travelers tip on local attractionsUse the free hotel shuttle to take you to airport and take the train it is less hassle than taking your car into NY and if it is your last day and you are going to NY just get your ticket stamped your car will be safe in the secured parking just take the shuttle back from the airport. The train cost us about $36 each way (2 adults & 2 kids). But worth the hassle of not driving in NY.Rating:3
MehThank goodness they poored a lot of money into this place as Id hate to have seen it before the remodel! Rooms are fairly nice, but when we were there, the A/C was broken in the main/public areas. Not very impressed!
Travelers tip on getting the most out of your stayIf going to NYC, better off paying more and staying in Manhattan, train to Manhattan will cost $15 a person and will take you basically an hour to get thereRating:5
Just one night standWe had an early flight so we only stayed for a few hours. The used the complementary shuttle to the airport that is a big plus.Rating:5
Quite ImpressedAlthough I got stay only one night but one night was good enough. The room was very clean and comfy. It served the purpose and Im sure it would of done more If I was able to stay longer. The service was very friendly as well. I would recommend this hotel.Rating:4
Good hotel for the priceThey offer park and ride with the shuttle across the street to Newark Airport which is very convenient. The only thing I didnt like was that there was a fee for internet.
Travelers tip on shoppingJersey Garden Mall is about 8 minutes away. Hotel is close to everything.Rating:1
Horrible Hell Hole!Terrible front desk staff! Room keys did not work and needed to be changed more than twice. Vending machine was out of order - ate my money, which was then reimbursed by the hotel upon my protest. A few room lights did not work. Could nt wait to get out of the place a.s.a.p.!
Travelers tipTry Holiday Inn or any other hotel nearby ... not this one!Rating:5
We enjoyed it very muchAfter a long flight we needed a relaxing place and we could not ask for more.Rating:3
Hotel and rental car at same location! The best part about the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Newark is the fact that Payless car rental is in the same building. We just lucked into it because they were both priced right. We got to Newark around midnight and getting the hotel shuttle to come pick us up involved two calls, a language barrier, and an hour and a half...so beware. However, getting up in the morning and just walking around the corner to pick up our rental car made the whole leave-Newark-behind process as efficient as it gets...btw, whattup with Newarks insanely bumpy roads and crazy freeway system? Someone skimming the road fund?Rating:5
Great stayThis was a great stay. the room was great, clean and spacious.Rating:3
ok for a short stayIt served its purpose for a place to stay for me and my to tween sons. The place was clean and close to new york. The pool was small but nice and the resturant in the hotel was unempressive. They have a bar that was nice. Overall is was ok to stay for the price and a short stay.Rating:4
very pleased will go againVery relaxing accomodating for the sociable and private personRating:4
Convenient, but not the most comfortable bedThe price was right and the location was good, but after a long day, a softer bed would have been nice.
